Chapter 452: Disagreement
Chapter 452: Disagreement
Fred and George expressed strong dissatisfaction with Kyle's preferential treatment, feeling that they were being underestimated. They insisted on tasting the Century Fire Whisky.
Kyle continued to ignore them.
It wasn't until a few minutes later, when they saw Bill snoring soundly on the floor, that they finally shut up. They then pretended nothing had happened and turned to drink their own juice.
They had witnessed Bill drinking, nodding off, and finally, very naturally, lying down on the floor. The entire process was incredibly smooth, without even a moment's pause, as if Bill had come here just to take a nap on Kyle's floor.
Charlie, on the other hand, seemed to be doing better.
As a dragon keeper, he had tasted many strong spirits and was experienced. He only took a light sip at first, unlike Bill, who had downed his drink in one go.
"Did he think this was malt whisky?" Charlie mocked, looking down at the sleeping Bill.
Just as Fred and George wouldn't miss any chance to tease Percy, Charlie and Bill were the same. This was a family tradition.
The only difference was that Bill wasn't as tongue-tied as Percy and could always find a chance to retaliate.
But he was now drunk.
Charlie enjoyed his verbal jabs and took another small sip of the whisky, feeling quite content.
Kyle brought over more candies and snacks.
Among the gifts he received, there were plenty of snacks, and they came in various types.
The group ate snacks while chatting casually.
Initially, the conversation was normal. Charlie told some amusing stories from the Romanian Dragon Reserve, such as a group of people trying to steal dragon eggs who were frightened to death by a fire dragon and ended up crying for help from the dragon keepers, or which dragon had laid a clutch of eggs again.
These were things they couldn't experience at school, and they sounded quite interesting.
In response, Kyle talked about things related to Hogwarts.
The fraudulent professor in third year, the basilisk, and the Dementors storming the Quidditch pitch in fourth year... Charlie listened with great interest and called it unfair.
Back when he was in school, Hogwarts had never been so exciting.
Especially the basilisk. After becoming a dragon keeper, Charlie had become more and more like Hagrid, developing a fondness for dangerous large magical creatures.
"I really wish I could see the basilisk," he said regretfully.
Fred and George immediately waved their hands, trying to dissuade him from this idea.
The basilisk was a deadly thing. When they learned that Ron had been sent to the hospital wing, they were terrified, and their legs had gone weak. Luckily, it turned out to be a false alarm.
It wasn't worth risking their lives for a bit of curiosity.
Fortunately, Charlie had only mentioned it in passing, and the basilisk wasn't something one could just go and see.
He put down his cup, stuffed a large piece of marshmallow into his mouth, and changed the subject.
"Kyle, I heard from Fred that Hufflepuff has won the Quidditch cup for four consecutive years?"
"It's all just good luck. We win just to save face, not worth mentioning, really!" Kyle said humbly, waving his hand.
Fred and George's expressions were not pleasant, and their teeth were grinding audibly.
If Kyle hadn't been so obviously smiling while saying this, they might have believed him.
Charlie, looking at their faces, asked in confusion, "Didn't you say Harry got a Firebolt?"
"You lost too?"
Fred and George took a sip of juice, their expressions firm and determined. "We will definitely win next year!"
"You Hufflepuffs better not think about getting five consecutive championships!"
"Then you guys better step up your game if you want to win the Quidditch Cup next year. It's going to be tough," Kyle said, raising his eyebrows and smiling.
Charlie opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he held back and changed the topic instead. "Kyle, who do you think will win the World Cup this year?"
"Of course, it's the Irish team," Kyle replied without hesitation.
"No," Charlie shook his head. "I think it's Bulgaria. This year, they completed their team with the final piece of the puzzle, the genius Seeker Viktor Krum. They will definitely challenge for the championship."
"Ha, only you Seekers would support Bulgaria," Kyle said bluntly. "Quidditch is a seven-player sport. A genius Seeker is indeed important, but the Chasers are the real core."
"Oh?" Charlie straightened up. "How so?"

"It's simple. You only noticed that Bulgaria has Krum, but you didn't realize they replaced an experienced Chaser.
The reason given by the Daily Prophet is that he is too old to coordinate well with Krum, which is ridiculous. A Chaser only needs to focus on scoring. Does he need to use a Bludger to knock the Golden Snitch into Krum's hands?"
Kyle snorted. "Do you believe that in this year's match, they will be pinned to the ground and rubbed, unless Krum can catch the Snitch before falling behind by one hundred and fifty points? Only then does Bulgaria have a chance to win."
Fred and George nodded in deep agreement.
Their thoughts were aligned with Kyle's.
Especially after the previous match against Hufflepuff, they also deeply understood the importance of Chasers scoring.
If the point difference is too large, even if the Seeker is strong, it's useless. At most, it can only delay the match for a while, but if the strength is not there, even if it's delayed for a long time, it's useless.
"No, I insist that Bulgaria can win," Charlie shook his head. "Ivanova is also an excellent Chaser, and there's Dimitrov. Although he's young, he has also shown his talent in international competitions. Both he and Krum are genius players."
"You must be talking about that Dimitrov who had the ball snatched from him three times in a row by Moran during the tourney," Kyle said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
Charlie's face turned slightly red, but he still insisted that only the Bulgarian team could win the final championship.
However, with a three-to-one disadvantage, it was difficult for Charlie to gain the upper hand. So, he directly carried Bill, who was still fast asleep, and headed back to the shack.
Bill's long ponytail dragged on the ground, and he also helped sweep the floor on the way out.
"This stupid Seeker," Charlie said as he left. Fred and George immediately showed triumphant smiles and high-fived each other.
They didn't follow Charlie back. Mainly, Percy was on leave today, and since morning, he had been in his room writing a report on Cauldron Seepage, forbidding them from making any noise.
It had only been a few hours since they woke up, and they had already been scolded several times. It was much quieter to stay here.
