Chapter 451: The Meeting of the Three Powerhouses
Chapter 451: The Meeting of the Three Powerhouses
Feng Ye now possessed the ability to see through both the past and the future.
While the ability to foresee the future became more complex and energy-consuming the further he tried to look, the past remained unchanging and was, therefore, easier to discern.
The future was mutable, but the past was set in stone.
It was far more difficult to predict the myriad possibilities that could occur in the next ten years than it was to look back thousands or even tens of thousands of years into the past.
With his current power, Feng Ye could nearly exhaust all his temporal energy to look back through the timeline for thousands, or even tens of thousands of years.
It was because of this ability that he vaguely sensed, or perhaps intuited, the true nature of the Ethereal Clock's world-hopping ability.
The Ethereal Clock's jumps were likely not spatial in nature, but temporal!
In simpler terms...
The world was likely caught in a cycle of birth and destruction.
After the existence of the Ninja World for billions, or even trillions of years, the entire universe might collapse, only to give birth to a new universe and new worlds.
The Ethereal Clock's world-hopping ability probably operated on this level, and to it, the concept of a 'present' might not even exist.
"If that's truly the case, then... only by completely mastering its power and truly controlling time will I be able to freely choose the world I want to go to, travel through time, return to past moments, and even bring all the people I know to live in the same world."
Feng Ye murmured to himself.
He was a human with emotions, and he would not forget the past. Just like now, although he might only have an appreciative liking for Hancock, Robin's companionship over the years meant something different to him.
He couldn't forget people like Yuhi Kurenai from the Ninja World, and he currently had no control over the Ethereal Clock's world-hopping ability, let alone protect others during such a jump.
Therefore, he had to continue on this path, starting from the Ninja World, preserving his self, and reaching the end, where he could control time and then return to the previous worlds one by one.
"Captain, there's an island over there."
As these thoughts flashed through Feng Ye's mind, Robin's voice reached him.
Feng Ye turned to see that Robin had already sat up and was looking at a direction to their right, where the silhouette of an island could be seen in the distance.
A glimmer of deep blue shone in Feng Ye's eyes as he zoomed in on the island, his eyes flashing with a subtle light as he smiled lightly.
"This is interesting..."
"If I go over there, I'll have just enough people for a game of mahjong."
Hearing Feng Ye's words, Robin turned her gaze from the island and looked at him with a hint of curiosity. "Captain, who did you see on that island?"
Feng Ye smiled and said, "Hmm... a revolutionary, a naval hero, a red-haired pirate, oh, and a Mountain Bandit King."
Revolutionary?
The person Feng Ye mentioned must be an extraordinary figure. Could it be Dragon? The naval hero must be Garp, and the red-haired... is it Red-Haired Shanks?
In just a second, Robin deduced the identities of the first few people, and if it were the old her, knowing that so many important people were gathered on one island would surely make her nervous. But now, she remained calm and composed.
At the same time, a strange glint flashed in her eyes.
Because she had absolutely no impression of the last person Feng Ye mentioned, the Mountain Bandit King. Who was that?
Robin didn't press further, knowing that she would likely find out soon enough. If she remained unclear, Feng Ye would surely explain things to her.
"Alright, let's go," Feng Ye nodded and stood up, heading into the ship's cabin with Robin following close behind.
An hour later, Feng Ye emerged from the cabin, donning a loose, dark-colored shirt. Robin, on the other hand, wore a deep purple blouse and a short skirt.
The ship had reached the vicinity of the island, and the shore was now clearly visible.
After a few minutes, the ship came to a halt at a spot along the coast. Feng Ye and Robin disembarked, stepping onto the water's surface and walking along it until they reached the shore.
It's worth mentioning that with Feng Ye's guidance, Robin had become quite adept at using chakra. She could now easily master simple techniques like walking on water.
"The place where an era is born..." Feng Ye murmured as he gazed at the island before him, a hint of emotion in his voice.
This island was where Monkey D. Luffy, the future Pirate King, had grown up. Luffy had lived here until he set sail as an adult, and without his presence, the future of this world would have been set in stone. Luffy would have inevitably reached the final island of Raftel, becoming the Pirate King and reshaping the era.
But now, that destiny had been severed.
Each world was like an intricate machine. In the absence of external influences, they would inevitably follow their original trajectories, with no room for deviation or surprise. However, the introduction of an outsider could disrupt the gears that represented the world's progression, causing the future to veer off course and become uncertain.
With Robin unable to join Luffy's crew and the current situation with Boa Hancock, the future had already been drastically altered.
At that moment, in a peaceful and harmonious village on the island...
On a vacant lot, three individuals sat in separate corners. One of them had hair that was half-black and half-white, a sturdy build, and wore casual clothes. He was none other than the naval hero, Garp.
To Garp's left sat a figure draped in a dark green cloak, his gaze firm and his left cheek adorned with distinctive tattoos. He was the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon!
The last person was much younger than Garp and Dragon, with short red hair, a plain shirt, and wooden clogs on his feet. He held a massive wine jar in his hand—none other than the man known as the "World's Strongest Man," Red-Haired Shanks!
Garp folded his arms across his chest and glared at Shanks. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't arrest you, you red-haired brat... How dare you show up in my hometown and plot against my grandson, Luffy!"
"If we're talking about endangering the World Government, this guy here is probably a bigger threat. If you're going to arrest anyone, you should start with the more dangerous one," Shanks said as he poured himself some wine and glanced at Dragon, who sat beside him. He let out a hearty laugh and added, "I'm just here to revisit my hometown. Running into Luffy was purely coincidental; it's not like we're about to start a brawl or anything."
"Hmph!" Garp snorted.
"Luckily, I'm on vacation, so I'll let you off the hook this time," he said as he picked his nose.
At that moment, Garp was still unaware of the gravity of the situation. Had he known the profound impact Shanks would have on Luffy's life, he would have poured that wine all over Shanks' face without hesitation.
