Chapter 451: I'm Here to Challenge You
Chapter 451: I'm Here to Challenge You
In a certain city, within the confines of Area K, loomed the largest underground Duel Club in town. The grand hall was filled with a haze of smoke and dazzling lights, as gamblers shouted enthusiastically and scantily-clad waitresses weaved through the crowd, creating a bustling atmosphere.
The burly bouncer standing at the entrance yawned, his attention drifting lazily as he admired the swaying hips of a passing waitress from a distance.
Suddenly, a gentle cough snapped him out of his reverie.
Startled, the bouncer turned to find a peculiar new guest standing at the door. This visitor was clad in a strange ensemble—a voluminous white robe and a semi-circular, dark-tinted glass visor that obscured his features, shrouding his identity.
However, the bouncer wasn't particularly fazed by the getup. It was common for seven or eight out of ten visitors to don masks to conceal their identities, and duelists were no exception.
His eyes immediately fell upon the Duel Disk on the stranger's wrist, and he straightened up, his tone turning respectful. "Sir, I presume you're here to gamble? Right this way, please."
This oddly dressed individual was none other than You Xuan, who had ultimately heeded the suggestion of the Orichalcum believer.
You Xuan gave a polite cough. "Thank you, but no. I'm not here to gamble."
Clearing his throat, he continued with a serious expression, "I'm here to challenge you."
Bouncer: "?"
The bouncer gave him a once-over but refrained from notifying anyone. Instead, he snorted and muttered, "Nutcase."
"Well, I tried to be peaceful."
You Xuan shrugged, raised his arm, and activated his Duel Disk.
". . ."
". . ."
"Ahhhh!"
Dark energy erupted within the hall, and yet another bouncer who had rushed over to investigate met his end as his life points dropped to zero. The force of the real damage sent him flying across the room, his body rolling several times before coming to a halt in the corner, motionless.
Chaos erupted in the hall. The gamblers had already stopped their activities, and the waitresses covered their mouths, shrieking at the sight of the fallen bouncer whose fate was unknown.
The commotion quickly escalated, and soon, the club's leader, alerted to the situation, arrived on the scene. He was a rugged-looking man with a gold chain hanging over his rotund belly, and he entered with a lackey by his side, lighting his cigar. His demeanor screamed trouble.
"I'm Kurosaki, the boss here," he introduced himself, cigar in mouth, as he strolled leisurely up to You Xuan.
"Good, very good. It's been a long time since anyone dared to cause trouble on my turf. What's your name, kid?"
"You can call me Revolver," You Xuan replied, choosing an alias on the spot.
"Revolver... I haven't heard of that name in the underground circuit. Are you new?" Kurosaki mused, his eyes narrowing. "And which club do you belong to, kid?"
As a local gang leader, he found it hard to believe that this gate-crashing youngster had no backing whatsoever. Surely, he had some enemies backing him up.
"A club?" You Xuan frowned, finding the unwritten rules of the criminal underworld rather bothersome. He decided to improvise. "Call it the Knight of Hanoi."
"Hanoi?"
Kurosaki's confusion deepened. He had never heard of such a name before.
"Yes, it's a new organization, and for now, I'm the only member," You Xuan replied nonchalantly, his eyes scanning the crowd. "But don't worry, we'll be recruiting soon."
Kurosaki stood there, momentarily taken aback, before realizing the implication of You Xuan's words. He threw his head back and laughed heartily.
So, this was just some hot-blooded youth.
Undoubtedly, this young man had recently stumbled upon some dark power, opening the doors to a new world. Inflated by his newfound strength, he believed himself to be invincible and sought to make a name for himself.
"Still, being able to handle so many of my brothers here does show some ability."
With that, Kurosaki threw his cigar to the ground and gestured to his side.
One of his underlings hastily handed him a new cigar.
Kurosaki glanced at it and then kicked the underling, sending him tumbling.
"I asked for a Duel Disk! Get it here!"
The bruised underling scrambled to his feet and hurriedly took a Duel Disk from his companion, passing it to his boss.
Kurosaki strapped on the Duel Disk and flashed a confident smile at You Xuan.
"It seems that if I don't teach you a lesson, you won't know your place. But I won't take your life. Let me think... how about this?"
He narrowed his eyes and licked his lips.
"The loser must unconditionally obey any request of the winner. Got it?"
"Sure," You Xuan readily agreed. This was exactly what he had planned for.
He had no use for this man's life. It was the man's cooperation that was crucial for his plan to proceed smoothly.
"Then, no more talk. Let's begin!"
"Duel!" x2
[You Xuan: LP 4000]
[Kurosaki: LP 4000]
"I'll go first," You Xuan said as he drew a card. "I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card, 'Hand Destruction.' Both players discard two cards from their hands and then draw two cards each."
Kurosaki hummed in response and, after glancing at his hand, selected two cards to discard.
"Then, I Normal Summon this card."
You Xuan slammed a monster card onto the Duel Disk.
"Amazoness Swords Woman in attack position!"
A wild warrior with long hair that resembled raging flames, brandishing a long sword, leaped into the field. Her skin was dark, and her body was muscular.
[Amazoness Swords Woman: ATK 1500]
The Amazoness deck, an old but classic series, had been used by Mai Valentine in the original series. It had also made appearances in the GX and subsequent generations of the anime.
This deck was one that You Xuan had acquired earlier and was not particularly rare. It was just that one of the project groups in the laboratory had recently made some new developments related to the Amazoness cards.
You Xuan had been intending to try it out, but the opponents in the Duel City tournament were all tough, leaving him with little opportunity to test a new deck. So, he had set it aside.
Now, with his disguise, it was not suitable for him to use his original deck, and this turned out to be a good opportunity to give it a try.
Moreover, the Amazoness deck was actually quite fun to play.
He believed that his opponent would soon come to experience that as well.
You Xuan: "I'll set one card and end my turn."
"So, you're using an Amazoness deck," Kurosaki remarked. "In that case, my turn! But I won't be drawing!"
As he spoke, flames flickered in his graveyard, and a blazing fire rose up before materializing into the form of a tiger.
"Effect of 'Fire Tiger' in the graveyard! While this card is in the graveyard, if there are no monsters on the field, I can treat this effect as a replacement for my normal draw during the draw phase and Special Summon this card from the graveyard!
Come, Fire Tiger!"
The tiger, enveloped in flames, landed on the field with a roar befitting the king of beasts, its mouth seeming to breathe fire.
[Fire Tiger: ATK 1800]
"Then, I activate the Magic Card, 'Angel's Charity.' I draw three cards from my deck and then discard two cards from my hand."
Kurosaki discarded two cards from his hand and then grinned widely.
"Hehehe... Hahahaha! My strongest ace is now in place, and my setup is complete. Kid, you may not realize it yet, but you're already finished!"
