Chapter 445: The Adventure Guild is Complete!
Chapter 445: The Adventure Guild is Complete!
Little Lio's eyes widened, reflecting his confusion. The young boy holding him wore an equally astonished expression.
Huh? Little Lio's wounds are healed?! The boy looked up at the man driving, his face reflecting his disbelief.
That was when he noticed the Pokemon the man had in his car.
A large group of Eevees crowded behind the car window, curiously peering at him. In the back of the pickup truck were two large Pokemon; one of them he recognized as the Motostoke Pokemon, Sirfetch'd, native to the Paldea region.
Their size must have been the reason they were placed in the back, as they wouldn't fit comfortably in the front cabin.
"You're welcome," the man said, snapping the dazed boy back to attention.
Naoki smiled at Little Lio and casually asked, "Is this your Pokemon?" The boy shook his head hurriedly, "No, no! I just met him in the wild. He was attacked by a Hariyama, and I helped save him."
"I see," Naoki nodded.
He turned to Little Lio, who now also realized that it was this human who had rescued him. Filled with gratitude, Little Lio stuck out his tongue and licked the boy's cheek.
"Looks like he really likes you!" Naoki smiled.
The boy's mood brightened as he saw Little Lio doing well, and he reached out to pat the little Pokemon on the head.
Naoki smiled at the heartwarming sight of the boy and Little Lio getting along so well, thinking to himself that there were indeed many kind-hearted children like Ash Ketchum in the Pokemon world.
Without saying a word, Naoki stepped on the gas and continued on his way.
As the car started moving, the boy realized he hadn't even thanked this kind gentleman.
He called out with Little Lio by his side, "Hey, wait a minute!"
But the man's voice called out from ahead, "You don't need to thank me. Just take good care of yourself and Little Lio!"
With that, the car drove off, leaving the boy and Little Lio standing by the roadside.
After a while, the boy retracted his gaze and looked down at Little Lio by his side. Cheerfully, he said, "Alright, your body seems fine now. You should get going!"
However, Little Lio didn't want to leave. He remembered how the boy had anxiously rescued him from the Fiery Scorpion and sought help for him.
Little Lio looked up and called out to the boy.
"Arooo!"
The boy paused, taken aback.
Little Lio took the initiative and jumped up, using his claws to pull a red and white ball from the boy's waist.
The ball dropped to the ground, and Little Lio looked down at it before turning to the boy.
"Arooo!"
Witnessing this, an incredible idea popped into the boy's mind.
He pointed at himself, asking in disbelief, "Do you want to leave with me?"
Little Lio nodded vigorously, "Arooo!"
The boy paused, seemingly understanding Little Lio's intentions. His eyes lit up, and he used the Poke Ball to recall Little Lio.
The Poke Ball wobbled a couple of times before falling still.
This indicated that the capture was successful.
"Little Lio, nice to have you with me!"
Having helped the young trainer, Naoki was in high spirits. He hummed a tune as he drove leisurely along the country road leading to Shiver City.
Just then, his Rotom Phone, which he had placed in his pocket, started ringing.
Naoki kept one hand on the wheel while using the other to pull out his phone. To his surprise, it was a video call from the Big Hero Adventure Team.
"Huh?" he wondered if it was Bear and the others calling back.
He answered the call, and the next second, Bear and Mew's faces appeared on the screen.
"Mimikyu!"
"Mew!"
As soon as the call connected, Naoki heard the distinct calls of Pokemon coming from the other side.
Before he could say anything, the Rotom Phone translated and displayed the messages from the two Pokemon.
Bear: "Naoki, we have a new companion who wants to live on the World Tree with us!"
Mew: "Yes, a lot of new companions have joined us this time!"
"Hmm?" Intrigued, Naoki asked, "What kind of Pokemon are they?"
Not only was he curious, but the Eevees beside him also leaned in, their fluffy heads close together.
Bear: "It's Mewtwo!"
Mew: "And there's also Charizard, Psyduck, Wigglytuff, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, and Meowth!"
"Pffft!" Naoki nearly spat out the water he had been drinking. He asked incredulously, "What did you just say?"
So, Bear repeated himself.
"Mewtwo and Pikachu, along with the others, want to come live on the World Tree with us!"
Then, Naoki saw the camera shift to another direction.
There, a humanoid Pokemon with a long tail stood calmly, looking at the Rotom Phone.
... Mewtwo!
Behind Mewtwo stood a large group of ordinary Pokemon.
Pikachu, Meowth, Charizard...
These Pokemon bore a distinctive dark marking that Naoki immediately recognized.
It was the symbol of cloned Pokemon!
Naoki's mind immediately flashed to the relevant plot from the movie "Mewtwo Strikes Back."
If he remembered correctly, that Pikachu was a clone of Ash Ketchum's Pikachu.
And that Meowth was a clone of the talking Meowth from Team Rocket.
Wait a minute! Weren't Bear and Mew supposed to be traveling in the Hoenn region? How did they end up meeting Mewtwo?
At that moment, the Rotom Phone's camera shifted back to focus on Mew and Bear.
Mew was delighted to hear this and let out a happy, meaningless cry, "Miu~!"
"What about you guys?" Naoki asked. "Are you coming back to the ranch with Mewtwo?"
Mew shook its head. "We can't. We still have something to do—a task you entrusted to us, Naoki."
Naoki's heart stirred. "Kiragi?"
Mew nodded its little head. "Yes! We've already gathered information about Furness from Pokemon along the way!"
"Next, Bear, Mew, and I plan to head there to find Kiragi and bring him back to the ranch. Have you figured out a way to help Kiragi yet?"
Naoki shook his head. "Not yet. I don't have any ideas at the moment. We'll have to come up with a plan based on the specific situation when the time comes."
Hearing this, Mew and Bear nodded.
They left the solution to Naoki and focused on their primary task—finding Kiragi!
That poor Pokemon had been asleep for a thousand years and could only wake up for seven days. Just thinking about it made them feel lonely and sad.
The Big Hero Adventure Team was ready to embark on their journey again.
After briefly explaining the current situation to Naoki, they hung up the call.
Mew and Bear turned to Mewtwo, who gave them a slight nod.
After a brief reunion, it was time to part ways again.
Mewtwo, with the group of cloned Pokemon and those harmed by humans, began flying towards the other end of the planet.
Meanwhile, the three Pokemon of the Big Hero Adventure Team continued their journey.
They watched Mewtwo's retreating figure, seeing them off in their hearts, and looking forward to their next encounter.
The vintage pickup truck came to a stop in the ranch.
Pokemon jumped out of the car one by one, forming a line, and only when they had all disembarked did Naoki shut the door.
To be honest, Naoki was quite bewildered by Mewtwo's decision to settle at the World Tree.
Although he had mentioned this idea to Bear and Mew before, he hadn't expected them to meet Mewtwo so soon and extend the invitation so decisively.
Not only did Mewtwo come, but it also brought along a large group of Pokemon to the ranch.
Naoki couldn't help but worry about how Mewtwo, these new Pokemon, and the ones already on the World Tree would get along.
However, worrying wouldn't change anything. Naoki decided to pay more attention to the situation and try to ease the relationship between the two groups.
For instance, he could ask Olivia and the others to hold a welcome ceremony for the new arrivals, using the gathering to foster camaraderie.
In the evening, Critta left the World Tree with her team of Conkeldurr.
She found Naoki and gave him an update on the construction.
"It's done! All the facilities you requested have been built."
Naoki was surprised at the speed, but then he remembered the efficiency of Critta's team and the veteran builders. It made sense that they had finished so quickly.
"Great job! Thank you for your hard work!"
Naoki settled the remaining payment with Critta. Although this project had cost him a significant sum, he believed it was worth it to fulfill his dream of establishing an Adventure Guild.
After seeing Critta and her team off, Naoki left the dinner preparations to his sister, Ai Guan Shi, who loved to cook.
Meanwhile, he paid a visit to the World Tree to inspect the new facilities.
Riding the World Tree elevator to the top, Naoki jumped into the passage created by the faintly glowing green log.
The area on this level had been completely transformed.
Various wooden structures were scattered across the grassy clearing, each with a unique design and decoration that clearly indicated their function and purpose.
For instance, the Pokemon Supply Shop's sign featured cartoon illustrations of MooMoo Milk, various berries, and small trinkets.
MooMoo Milk helped Pokemon restore their stamina, and different berries had different effects.
The trinkets were tools that could enhance a Pokemon's abilities or produce other beneficial effects.
There were items like the Everstone, which prevented evolution, the Fire Stone, imbued with fiery energy, and the Miracle Seed, which boosted the power of Grass-type moves.
The pictures made it easy for Pokemon to understand what each item was for, and they could then make their own purchases accordingly.
In addition to the supply shop, there was also a restaurant, a sushi bar, a cafe, dormitories, and training rooms.
The restaurant's sign displayed illustrations of various dishes like sandwiches, Pokeblocks, and energy cubes.
The dormitory sign showed a bed, clearly indicating to Pokemon that this was a place for sleeping.
Out of curiosity, Naoki stepped into the Pokemon dormitory and was surprised to find that it wasn't a conventional dormitory at all.
Critta had created unique living spaces tailored to the preferences of different Pokemon.
For example, there were tree holes for small Pokemon like Patrat, stone slabs for larger Pokemon like Charizard, and fluffy nests for Eevee and its evolutions.
Not only would Pokemon love these spaces, but humans would also find them hard to resist.
The sense of security and natural ambiance made these nests incredibly inviting.
If he were a Pokemon, he would definitely choose that tree hole as his nest!
It had a soft, furry blanket inside, making it feel both safe and comfortable.
After touring the dormitory, Naoki stepped outside.
The buildings were arranged in a circular formation around the clearing, with a Pokemon park at the center, complete with benches, lampposts, and a fountain.
Paths connected the facilities to the park, tying the whole area together.
But what about Pokemon that couldn't read...?
With the Rotom Phone, that shouldn't be a problem.
Naoki began to contemplate ordering another batch of Rotom Phones.
Just then, the Pokemon that originally inhabited this level also discovered the new sights.
Soon, a large group of Pokemon curiously ran over.
Treecko, Milobellus, Tropius, Olivia, and Minas...
The Milobellus that had arrived riding on the Tropius immediately spotted the sushi bar, as the sign on the shop had a pattern that looked just like them!
"Mew?" Milobellus looked at Naoki, seemingly asking what that place was.
"That's the sushi bar," Naoki replied.
"Mew?!?"
Hearing this, Milobellus was delighted.
They quickly jumped and ran over, bouncing on the counter.
Naoki followed them inside.
Looking around, he saw the kitchen, the counter, and the tables and chairs for customers to dine.
Making sushi required ingredients like seaweed, rice, carrots, and cucumbers.
The seaweed for making nori could be found in the seawater around the Dragonite Island below, while rice, carrots, and cucumbers could be obtained through farming.
Next, he would just need to hire some Pokemon employees and teach the Pokemon how to farm crops and process ingredients, and the sushi bar could officially open for business.
But could Pokemon really grow rice and process it into rice grains?
And in order for the sushi bar to continue operating, the Pokemon would also need to understand how to save seeds and raise seedlings.
Naoki couldn't help but feel a little worried.
In addition to these concerns, he also had to teach the Pokemon how to make sushi and how to wash dishes. It all seemed so challenging! Making sushi required Pokemon with hands and a meticulous nature, while washing dishes required Water-type Pokemon.
Everything depended on the help of Pokemon. In short, there were still too few hands on the World Tree! With just these few Pokemon, it would be impossible to sustain the entire Adventure Guild.
Fortunately, a new group of residents would soon be arriving at the World Tree, which could help with the manpower issue.
Charizard, Ninetales, and Rapidash could help with fire, Wartortle and Psyduck could use Water Gun to wash dishes, Bulbasaur and Ewe could cultivate crops, and Diglett, Dugtrio, and Donphan could dig and plow the fields.
Pikachu and Mareep could help generate electricity and provide energy for the guild.
As for Olivia, she could provide everyone with fresh and delicious olive oil.
Oh, right, and Jigglypuff! Naoki remembered that there was a Jigglypuff in Mewtwo's team!
He thought of the Jigglypuff Guildmaster from the game 'Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time'.
Perhaps he could recreate that, and have this Jigglypuff serve as the guild's master.
Naoki: "..."
It really did feel like playing house in real life.
Well, Kirshu wasn't wrong; he did want to play house with the Pokemon.
However, as wonderful as it sounded, reality was still unknown.
Everything would have to wait until Mewtwo and the group of Pokemon arrived.
But with Mewtwo's flying speed, they should be able to reach the ranch by tomorrow noon, right? Before their arrival, Naoki still had some preparations to make.
The next morning, after finishing his work on the ranch, Naoki drove into town.
He weaved through the streets, going in and out of various shops, and it wasn't until noon that he finished purchasing everything he needed.
His haul included various types of crop seeds, fruit tree seedlings, pots and pans, blankets, mattresses, clocks, large power generators, and various processing machines.
Kirshu had already built a mill next to the food storage barn, so the Pokemon would only need to put the harvested wheat into it to get a large amount of flour.
Then, they could use the oven to bake the dough into bread.
"Hmm, it looks like in addition to regular Pokemon, the World Tree also needs some producer Pokemon to join," Naoki thought to himself.
Pokemon like Salazzle, Jug, Milk Tank, Frost Creamer, and Combee.
Jug, also known as the Automatic Juicer, would help make the restorative Wonder Juice by simply feeding it tree fruit.
Jug secretes a sticky liquid, and when mixed with tree fruit juice, the resulting juice is even more effective than regular tree fruit juice.
As he was thinking, his Rotom Phone suddenly rang.
Naoki looked down and saw a message from Reuniclus, saying that Mewtwo and the others had arrived at the ranch.
What incredible speed, as expected of Mewtwo!
After a brief moment of awe, Naoki started the car and drove back to the ranch, his vehicle loaded with goods.
Ten minutes later, the Pikachu car stopped on the ranch's grass field.
Before Naoki could even get out of the car, he spotted the supposedly strongest Pokemon in history, Mewtwo.
And behind Mewtwo stood a large group of Pokemon.
The Poplio, Motostoke Pokemon, Wooloo, Salazzle, Frost Creamer, and Eevees that lived on the ranch also gathered around, curiously eyeing the newcomers.
However, facing Naoki's group of Pokemon, the cloned Pokemon and those that had been harmed by humans seemed a bit uneasy.
Mewtwo, on the other hand, remained calm.
Upon seeing Naoki get out of the car, its gaze shifted towards him.
