Chapter 445: Crazy Peter
Chapter 445: Crazy Peter
"Very well, you two will stay here with the Dementors for two days to think things over."
The stubborn Sirius Black infuriated the Auror, who glared at them and then angrily turned to leave.
"That's not so bad. It's been a while since I've spent time with those monsters", Sirius said fearlessly, watching the Auror's retreating figure.
He had survived over a decade in Azkaban; a couple of days was nothing.
"I'm not begging you! I've told you everything, don't bring them over here!" Peter Pettigrew shouted, his voice breaking with tears.
He had no backbone and was crawling on the ground, inching towards the door, but the iron chain around his ankle made him struggle helplessly.
Before the Auror arrived, he had already experienced the feeling of being surrounded by Dementors.
It was like hell, where all the good and happy things were forcibly ripped from his mind, leaving only the most vile and dark memories.
"Peter, your current state is truly revolting! How could James, Lupin, and I have been so foolish to be friends with someone like you?" Sirius spat, looking at Peter with disgust.
"Lupin—Lupin!" Peter ignored him and muttered to himself.
Reminded by Sirius, Peter suddenly remembered something and called out to the Auror, who was already at the door.
"Wait, sir! I have something important to say!"
"What is it? I remember you telling me you had nothing left to hide", the Auror, who was about to leave, turned back, looking impatient.
"Yes, I swear to you, about my years in hiding, I have nothing to hide from you!" Peter hurriedly explained, then continued cautiously.
"What I want to say is unrelated to that, but it might be useful for the Ministry. If you keep the Dementors away from me, I'll tell you this information!"
"Enough, Peter! You're still spouting nonsense. Do you think anyone will believe a filthy traitor like you?" Sirius, realizing that Peter might be about to reveal Lupin's identity as a Werewolf Wizard, quickly interrupted him.
"Let's hear him out. If the information is useful, I'll consider making your stay more comfortable!" The Auror looked at Peter with interest and said.
"Of course, I'm sure you'll find it very interesting!" Peter said eagerly.
"The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts?!"
"What's going on?" The Auror drew his Wand, pointing it at Peter, unsure of what was happening.
"Someone! It must be that demon using the Disillusionment Charm to sneak in!" Peter looked around nervously, though he had no evidence, he was convinced it was the young wizard causing trouble.
"Revelio~" The Auror half-heartedly waved his Wand.
A ripple of magical energy spread from the tip of the Wand, extending in all directions and reaching every corner of the room. However, nothing happened.
"There's no one here at all!" The Auror glared at Peter with a dangerous look.
"Someone just used—" Peter stammered, trying to explain, but he suddenly felt something wriggle into his sleeve. His arm soon began to throb with pain.
"There's a bug, a bug has crawled into my clothes! It's biting me, it's a snake, definitely a snake! No, it's changing into something else, it's so itchy, untie me, please untie me, I beg you!" Peter rolled around on the ground, shouting wildly.
The Auror watching him was thoroughly confused, not understanding what he was up to.
"Are you performing some kind of play, Peter? Or do you think that by putting on this act, our Auror here will kindly untie you?" Sirius Black sneered.
Peter, who had crashed into a corner, struggled to respond, but someone had shoved a pair of stinky socks into his mouth, the smell nearly making him pass out.
In the darkness, the Auror couldn't see Peter clearly. Seeing him babbling and rolling around, he wasn't sure if Peter was faking it or if he had actually gone into some kind of hysterical fit.
"Are you okay? Let me know if you need a healer", the Auror asked tentatively, but Peter only continued to squirm.
Without a response, the Auror furrowed his brow. Peter's strange behavior made him feel like he was being toyed with, so he decided to ignore it. As long as Peter didn't die, his condition wasn't a concern.
Bound and unable to speak, Peter helplessly watched as his only hope left the Astronomy Tower step by step.
A moment later, a young girl's voice echoed in the empty space beside Peter.
"Harry! That was too risky, what if you were discovered?"
"What could I do? Should I have just stood by and watched Peter reveal Professor Lupin's identity?" Harry removed the Invisibility Cloak he was wearing, and the empty Astronomy Tower suddenly had three more Young Wizards.
"Sirius, are you okay?" Harry turned to look at the tightly bound Sirius, asking with concern.
"How did you end up here?" Sirius was somewhat surprised.
"Earlier, we saw a lot of Dementors gathered nearby, so we guessed you'd be here. After all, there's no one else in the school who needs these monsters to guard them", Hermione explained quickly.
"Right! We used the Invisibility Cloak to sneak up here! Luckily, the Dementors were far enough away that they didn't sense us", Harry nodded in agreement.
"Very clever!" Sirius praised, then looked at the battered Peter, curious. "What was up with his crazy act just now, how did you do that?"
"No, that wasn't us, he just suddenly acted that way. I just poked his waist, and then had Ron stuff his socks into his mouth", Harry shook his head, indicating he didn't know.
