Chapter 444: Elemental Plane of Fire
Whoosh—
In an instant, Kai Xiusu’s world turned black and white. Everything around him fell silent, leaving only a narrow, winding Pipeline stretching ahead.
He had entered the Astral Plane.
While the Inner Planes were dominated by the material Edict, each Elemental Plane connected to the Prime Material Plane through the Aether Passage.
"Back to the Astral Plane again," Kai Xiusu murmured, gazing at the monochrome landscape as his spell-powered strength carried him forward.
Far ahead, the Energy Tide surged violently—but Teleportation Spell could pierce through it, delivering him straight to his destination.
Yet Kai Xiusu paused to reflect. With a sudden, deliberate motion, he flared his wings and stepped out of the safety of the Aether Passage.
Boom!
A sound like tearing silk split the air. The surrounding energy roared, screaming in defiance.
And in his claw, the Fire Dwarf wailed in panic.
"King Kai Xiusu!"
"Wait! Let me out first!"
"Sir, this is dangerous! The Frenzied Elemental Tides will tear us apart!"
The Red Dragon sneered. "Hmph. Isn’t this just bringing you back to your old home?"
"Relax, guide. I’ll ensure your safety."
A sharp crackle of air erupted. His massive Dragon Body shattered the spatial bindings, finally breaking through into view of the distant world—overflowing with Flame Light, radiating endless heat.
As the Red Dragon drew near, the wind around him grew fiercer, laced with searing fire.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions erupted all around him—each impact a violent clash of raw energy. The Frenzied Elemental Energy surged like a tidal wave.
The Inner Planes were realms of pure elemental force—raw, untamed, and existing in extreme states. They were the fundamental building blocks of the universe: the primal matter and energy from which all existence was forged.
As destinations, the Inner Planes were deeply hostile to beings from the material world. Without proper preparation, travelers were helpless—crushed like candles in a storm.
But Kai Xiusu, bearing the Ancestral Bloodline of the Red Dragon, felt no fear. Instead, he felt a surge of exhilaration.
"This is the energy of the Elemental Plane of Fire? Now this is interesting!"
He let out a low, rumbling roar. In his pale golden, vertical pupils, flames surged.
With a sudden snap of his wings, he pulled them tight. Behind him, a trail of dazzling light flared like a comet’s tail.
A shriek—Screaming Scream—echoed from his spines.
Then came the crack! of shattering matter.
The Red Dragon tore through the chaotic energy storm, plummeting from the sky like a crimson meteor, crashing violently into the Fire World.
Boom!
Scorching earth split open. Ember sparks and ash flew in every direction.
The Red Dragon tilted his head upward, gazing at the sky. Everything he saw was red—endless, burning red.
His crimson, intensely hot Dragon Body fit perfectly into this realm. It seemed as if he had always belonged here.
This was a world perpetually ablaze—a realm thick with the stench of charred flesh and the ashes of forgotten dreams.
This was Fire incarnate: the Elemental Plane of Fire.
Everything here shimmered with Flame Light. The ground was not earth, but a vast, shifting, flattened plane of fire. The air, superheated by relentless Flame Storms, shimmered like threads of light. The most common liquid wasn’t water—but Magma.
Oceans flowed with molten fire. Mountains oozed Molten Lava.
No mortal humans lived here. This was the homeland of Fire Children, Fire Dwarves, Fire Lizards, and Fire Giants—elemental beings born of flame.
It was a Fire Cemetery for unprepared travelers. Even seasoned adventurers found it unbearable.
Here, fire burned without fuel or air. But anything combustible would burn out quickly.
Fire ruled supreme. The Elemental Plane of Fire was little more than isolated pockets of matter floating within a sea of pure, dominant elemental energy.
"Aaaah~"
Kai Xiusu let out a deep, satisfied sigh. He spread his wings, shook his body, then lowered his head to gaze at the Dragon Crystal on his chest.
Fire surged into it from all sides, making the crystal pulse and glow.
He realized then—the ground beneath him was not rock, but a thick layer of fire, ash, and debris.
To mortals, this was a terrifying Purgatory.
But to Kai Xiusu, it was paradise. The surrounding Flame Elements resonated with him, harmonizing with his very being.
"Perfect place," the Red Dragon grinned, his face twisted in a feral delight.
"Ow!"
He loosened his right claw. The Fire Dwarf—Green Cardoso—tumbled to the ground, curling into a ball.
After a long moment, he examined himself, relieved to find his Bronze Forging body untouched. He exhaled deeply.
"By Moradin’s beard!"
"Breaking through into the Elemental Plane—what a mad journey, what a nightmare!"
But soon, Green turned his gaze upward, eyes cautious.
"King Kai Xiusu… To enter the Elemental Plane of Fire this way… Your power surpasses anything I’ve ever imagined."
Back in the Elemental Plane of Fire, his fur and beard burned even brighter.
Kai Xiusu glanced at him. "Where are we now?"
Green surveyed the surroundings, paused to reflect, then replied:
"The Burning Wastes, King Kai Xiusu. This is Fire Giant territory."
Hearing the name, Kai Xiusu’s eyes flickered—but he pressed on.
"Where are the Empire’s Bases?"
Green answered in detail:
"Inside our Bronze Fortress, Your Majesty. Your army has defended us from countless Fire Lizard Raider attacks. You are our savior, every one of us Fire Dwarves’ hero."
"Excellent," Kai Xiusu said. "Then point the way."
"Wait, Your Majesty!"
He seized the Fire Dwarf again, wings flaring. A hurricane of Intense Heat erupted around him, lifting him into the sky.
Birds of fire—strange, winged creatures made of flame—scattered in terror, shrieking as they fled.
"Is this the direction?"
"Yes, Your Majesty. By the standard units of the Prime Material Plane, our Bronze Fortress lies over a thousand three hundred li away."
"Good."
"About an hour’s flight."
Kai Xiusu flared his wings once more. Speed skyrocketed. He tore across the sky, the Sonic Boom of his passage echoing behind him.
This was merely his cruising speed. Thanks to the Energy Shield surrounding his body, and the fact that the Fire Dwarf was a copper-bodied elemental being, Green remained conscious.
As he flew, Kai Xiusu asked:
"Why did the Fire Giants send armies against you?"
In his past life’s memories, Fire Dwarves and Fire Giants had been enemies for generations. Many Fire Dwarves had been captured and enslaved—forced to labor endlessly.
Yet the Fire Dwarves were an unusually disciplined race. Even as slaves, they upheld their duties. Some were even selected as Overseers, tasked with supervising their fellow captives.
Their devotion to order ran so deep that they would remain loyal until their Covenant ended—until their master died. They would never rebel on their own.
And that was precisely why Kai Xiusu found them so fascinating—perfectly bred oxen and horses.
They were a match made for the Empire of Ashen.
Hearing the question, Green clenched his jaw, his voice laced with venom.
"You don’t know, Your Majesty. Long ago, Fire Dwarves and Fire Giants were allies."
"We joined forces to Rebel against the Lord of Fire’s brutal rule."
"We even Assisted in building the Fire Giant’s Homeland—the City of Brass. That was our proudest achievement. A wonder beyond compare."
"And the City of Iron you’ve heard of? That was my design."
"But when we finished… those treacherous Fire Giants betrayed us. They tried to enslave us—to prevent the secrets of the city from spreading."
His voice grew hotter, his flames flaring brighter.
Kai Xiusu’s eyes lit up.
"Disgusting scum," he muttered, echoing the words.
But inside, his mind buzzed with excitement.
So easily deceived. So loyal. So obedient. So skilled in craftsmanship.
Perfect.
These Fire Giants weren’t just traitors—they were wastrels, squandering the greatest assets imaginable.
The Empire of Ashen, on the other hand, would treat Fire Dwarves as their most faithful allies—never enslaving them, never forcing them to serve.
"The Empire is missing allies like you," Kai Xiusu said, genuine admiration in his voice.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," Green said, scratching his head, unaware of the Red Dragon’s true intentions. He thought Kai Xiusu was praising their loyalty.
