Chapter 442: Golden Lion, Five Seconds Away from the Battlefield
"Ahh..."
"You've grown into a fine young lady before I knew it."
Aoqing responded to Robin, his voice still carrying a hint of tension as his gaze remained fixed on Feng Ye. "How did one of the Four Emperors of the New World end up here? You're not here on a vacation to the East Blue, are you?"
Feng Ye smiled gently and took a skewer from Robin, sprinkling some seasoning on it before replying, "You guessed it. I am indeed here on a trip to the East Blue. It's quite a coincidence to run into you here."
"...”
Aoqing remained silent, his expression still stiff.
The situation was dire!
Aside from the ongoing issue with Golden Lion, just a few days ago, he had received intelligence that one of the Four Emperors, Shanks, had crossed the Calm Belt and arrived at the East Blue.
Now, not only was Shanks here, but Feng Ye had also shown up, along with the reinforcements sent by the Navy... Perhaps the greatest battle since the Great Pirate Era was about to erupt in the East Blue!
"Don't just stand there. Come and eat something."
Feng Ye smiled at Aoqing and gestured with the skewer in his hand. "From your appearance, it seems like you just finished fighting someone. If I'm not mistaken, it was probably Golden Lion?"
After a brief hesitation, Aoqing walked over and took the skewer from Feng Ye. "So, you're here in the East Blue just for a vacation?"
Although Feng Ye claimed it was a vacation, and perhaps it truly was, if he had any other intentions, the consequences could be terrifying.
One only needed to look at Feng Ye's journey so far to understand.
He traveled to Navy Headquarters, and it turned into Gourd Mountain.
He visited the holy land of Mary Joa, and it was reduced to ruins, now serving as a new Navy base.
In the New World, Captain John and Kaido of the Hundred Beasts lost their lives, and he even left his mark in the Land of Wano.
And now, he had arrived in the East Blue...
Who knew if he would turn the East Blue upside down!
"Not entirely, but you don't have to worry. I don't bear any ill will towards the Navy at the moment."
Feng Ye smiled at Aoqing's unease. "Don't be so tense. I'm not the kind of person who destroys everything in my path. I actually prefer peace and quiet."
"...”
Aoqing's jaw twitched.
So, Navy Headquarters and Mary Joa were too noisy, and you decided to make them quiet, huh?
Feng Ye noticed Aoqing's expression and understood his thoughts, smiling as he said, "Although I destroyed Marinford and Mary Joa, I didn't cause much casualties, did I? As for the Celestial Dragons, I felt they needed to experience some pain."
"...”
Aoqing nodded silently, his expression saying, 'Yes, you have the power, so whatever you say is right.'
"Sir, try this."
Robin offered a skewer of grilled mushrooms to Feng Ye. She had been observing Aoqing with subtle glances, and his current demeanor brought a constant smile to her face.
Feng Ye took the mushroom skewer and tasted it, nodding in satisfaction. "The flavor is indeed excellent. Why don't you try one as well?"
Robin glanced at the skewer in Feng Ye's hand and turned to him with a soft laugh. "I'd rather try some other variety of mushroom."
"It seems like these are all the ingredients we could gather from this island. Next time, we'll look for more on other islands."
Feng Ye replied casually, then turned to Aoqing and said, "Actually, I came here intending to resolve the Golden Lion issue. The Navy has never been able to deal with him, and he's been causing chaos in the East Blue.
Given Feng Ye's identity and status, he probably had no reason to lie, so this was likely one of his objectives.
"I always thought you were the type to do as you please and only interfere with this world if disturbed," Aoqing remarked, his initial surprise giving way to contemplation.
"I suppose that's true," Feng Ye replied casually as he continued to eat his skewer. "But Golden Lion's actions have been particularly despicable, and I am partly responsible, so I made a special trip to the East Blue."
Aoqing fixed his gaze on Feng Ye, pausing for a few seconds before speaking. "So, you're not entirely neutral after all. You lean slightly towards the realm of justice."
As a high-ranking member of the Navy and a candidate for the next Admiral, Aoqing had a clearer perspective on issues than most. In his eyes, there was no absolute justice.
Although Feng Ye was wanted by the World Government and had even destroyed the Navy Headquarters and the Holy Land of Mary Geoa, Aoqing had noticed that Feng Ye had always shown restraint towards the Navy.
During the battle at Navy Headquarters, Feng Ye had razed the entire base but caused minimal casualties. And in the Holy Land, his target from the start had been the Celestial Dragons.
Furthermore, Feng Ye had not caused any panic in the New World. Instead, he had sailed on, eliminating numerous vicious pirate crews, including the Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew.
If Feng Ye had been a member of the Navy, his accomplishments would have been more than enough to qualify him for the position of Admiral.
"Justice?" Feng Ye chuckled softly. "Pirates aren't necessarily evil, and the Navy isn't always just. You, of all people, should understand this, having destroyed Robin's hometown. You, too, stand in the realm of evil."
Aoqing's expression grew slightly complex. "I suppose that's true... But I have my own brand of justice that I uphold."
"Then go ahead and pursue it," Feng Ye said with a light laugh as he finished off a few more skewers. "I'm curious to see what you'll do once you become the next Fleet Admiral."
It was all but certain that Aoqing would be the next Admiral, and the path to becoming the next Fleet Admiral was clear. With Yellow Monkey having little interest in the position, there was no one in the Navy who could rival Aoqing in terms of qualifications and strength.
"Alright," Feng Ye wiped the corners of his mouth and stood up. "You'd better eat quickly. The troublemakers will be here soon."
Aoqing's expression changed slightly, and he suddenly seemed to realize something. He looked up at the sky but saw nothing.
Robin also glanced at the sky. If Aoqing had only briefly thought of Golden Lion, then she was almost certain that Golden Lion was on his way. Feng Ye must have seen the future to make such a prediction.
"It should be easily resolved," Feng Ye said.
"Sir," Robin said, turning slightly to face Feng Ye.
"Mhm... But our picnic will still be interrupted," Feng Ye replied with a casual smile.
Although it was unclear how Feng Ye had made his judgment, his conversation with Robin confirmed Aoqing's suspicions.
Golden Lion was coming!
