Chapter 441: Icechill's Evolution Conditions
Chapter 441: Icechill's Evolution Conditions
The next morning.
The Seasalt Lizard moved calmly through the water.
Jiang Xiu clearly wasn't very familiar with the location of the Shu Luyana Research and Conservation Center, so he had to rely on his navigation the entire way to reach the destination.
At the entrance adorned with an Aquariana statue, Dr. Jiang and his assistant had been waiting for some time.
When he saw the shorter figure among the two approaching figures, Dr. Jiang's eyes lit up, and he hurried over, greeting them warmly:
"Qiao Sang, it's great to finally see you!"
"Dr. Jiang?" Qiao Sang called out hesitantly, looking at the middle-aged man in a white lab coat.
It was impossible to tell, as there was a younger man standing beside him.
This was a world where one couldn't easily judge age or status by appearance.
After all, she had a living example right next to her.
"It's me", Dr. Jiang smiled.
Jiang Xiu took a deep breath, suppressing his excitement, and extended his hand with a smile, "Dr. Jiang, I'm Jiang Xiu."
Despite being a professor, Jiang Xiu was several levels below Dr. Jiang. If not for his special role in hosting Qiao Sang and being responsible for Icechill's nutrition, he might not have had any contact with Dr. Jiang at all.
He had almost hung up on Dr. Jiang's call yesterday, thinking it was a scam.
"Hello!" Dr. Jiang shook his hand and turned to Qiao Sang, "Let's talk as we walk."
The four of them entered the Shu Luyana Research and Conservation Center and made their way to a large, beautifully landscaped water garden.
"This is where the Aquarianas usually play", Dr. Jiang explained.
Qiao Sang looked over and saw several Aquarianas playing around the pond and artificial waterfall.
Jiang Xiu, standing beside her, had a dreamy look on his face, wondering if this was heaven...
At that moment, Qiao Sang suddenly remembered something, made a hand sign, and summoned Lulu.
"Icechill..." Lulu looked around, her expression freezing as she saw several of her own kind, which she had never seen before.
"Lulu!"
One of the playing Aquarianas happened to look up at that moment and excitedly called out.
All the other Aquarianas immediately turned to look at Lulu, and several of them even poked their heads out of the pond.
Then, they happily ran over and surrounded Lulu.
"Icechill..."
Lulu looked bewildered and turned to her Beastmaster for help.
"Go ahead and play with them", Qiao Sang smiled.
Lulu was still less than a year old, the perfect age for playing.
"Icechill..."
Hearing her Beastmaster's words, Lulu paused, then looked down at the little ones surrounding her. Her eyes softened, and her tail began to wag as she walked towards the pond.
"Lulu!"
"Lulu!"
A group of Aquarianas followed her closely.
Seeing Icechill and the Aquarianas getting along so well, Dr. Jiang remarked, "The Icechill you've raised has such a good temper. The Icechills we have here don't often want to play with the Aquarianas."
Good temper... You must not have seen what she was like when she was still an Aquariana... Qiao Sang thought to herself but said, "Not at all, the Aquarianas here have great tempers."
Dr. Jiang smiled, "Aquarianas are naturally gentle and are symbols of beauty and peace."
Huh? Qiao Sang was taken aback.
Honestly, after spending so much time with Lulu, she had almost forgotten the information she had seen online about Aquarianas.
Dr. Jiang continued, "However, as they evolve, their tempers will gradually change."
That's true... Qiao Sang agreed internally.
"Do you know what Icechill's next evolution form will be?" Dr. Jiang asked.
"Got it." Qiao Sang nodded. "The next Evolution type is Iceapura."
This information was mentioned in the data about the Aquariana race that Vice Principal had given her.
Dr. Jiang said:
"From a big data perspective, Iceapura is the most sensitive phase in the entire Evolution chain. You'll need to be extra careful during this stage, as a single misstep could cause the trust you've built up to crumble."
Qiao Sang thought for a moment and asked, "Is it related to the Evolution conditions of Icechill?"
"Exactly." Dr. Jiang nodded. "For Icechill to Evolve, they must experience extreme despair during a Sandstorm. This can affect their personality to some extent."
Although Qiao Sang had already read about the Evolution conditions in the materials, hearing it from someone else still made her sigh:
What a tough race...
The next few hours were spent exploring the areas where Glacialia and Icechill were active.
Jiang Xiu had a fanatic's expression on his face the entire time.
When they reached the area where Icechill were active, Qiao Sang suddenly remembered something and asked, "Dr. Jiang, yesterday you asked Professor Jiang to tell us not to rush into using the Water Awakening Stone on Icechill. Why is that?"
Dr. Jiang smiled and explained:
"The Awakening Stone is used to awaken the dormant Talent Skill in a familiar's bloodline. However, the success rate isn't 100%. Research shows that when a familiar is Evolving, their bloodline becomes more active, and using the Awakening Stone during this time increases the success rate by about 30%."
"Ah, I see!" Qiao Sang thought to herself that she had learned something new.
The Awakening Stone was a rare artifact that she had never encountered before, and it wasn't covered in her high school textbooks. If she continued her studies at a university, she might have a chance to learn about it there.
Despite the significant age difference, Qiao Sang and Dr. Jiang had a pleasant conversation about the Aquariana race, which made the time pass quickly.
In just over an hour, Qiao Sang gained a detailed understanding of the Aquariana race.
As the conversation neared the end of the research center's working hours, the young assistant, who had been quietly standing by, cleared his throat and reminded Dr. Jiang:
"Dr. Jiang, there's something you forgot to ask."
Dr. Jiang paused, then chuckled:
"Look at my memory."
He looked at Qiao Sang, and his expression turned serious. "Would you be interested in becoming a researcher?"
Qiao Sang was taken aback. "A researcher?"
Vice Principal had suggested she become a researcher, and now Dr. Jiang was also suggesting it. Could it be that she really had a talent for it?
"Yes, a researcher. I felt you had the potential the moment I met you." Dr. Jiang praised her.
Oh, although she had guessed, it was still a bit embarrassing to hear it said to her face... Qiao Sang scratched her head, blushing slightly.
"Actually, I'm already a Junior Researcher."
"I know that." Dr. Jiang smiled. "My assistant, Xiao Qian, knows your Vice Principal. The materials you have on the Aquariana race were sent to you with my approval."
"Xiao Qian told me you're a Junior Researcher."
Xiao Qian... Qiao Sang glanced at the man who looked a few years older than Professor Jiang.
Xiao Qian smiled.
"I'm referring to a Junior Researcher." Dr. Jiang clarified.
