As the countdown ended, a system voice resonated in Feng Bu Jue’s ears: “Jade Butterflies Dancing Through Flowers, a sky filled with flying fluff in a playful frenzy.”
With these opening lines, Feng Bu Jue was teleported into the scenario.

Soon, the blinding white light faded from Feng Bu Jue’s vision, and his body regained its ability to move. He stood at the center of an Ancient Roman Colosseum, surrounded by empty circular stands. Above, the sky was clear and high, the sun blazing. All around, an eerie quiet reigned.
Twenty meters ahead, a female player stood waiting.
Xu Huai Shang was in her prime, tall and elegant, her slender waist and lustrous hair accentuating her beauty. Her alabaster skin and delicate features made her unforgettable at first sight. The Red Cherry guild’s Police Uniform suited her perfectly—a flowing white coat adorned with crimson cherry blossom patterns, fluttering like a celestial being in the breeze.
As for Feng Bu Jue… outwardly handsome, but his entire aura exuded a sinister, grotesque vibe. His languid expression and lifeless gaze made his thoughts unreadable.
……
“What the hell? That’s Mad Bu Jue? Is he really the player ranked second on the Combat Leaderboard? Are they sure they got the right guy?”
“Seriously… is he dressed like the Joker? This guy’s just some middle school syndrome case, right? I doubt he’s got any real skill.”
“So this is the infamous Mad Bu Jue! If this creep dares lay a finger on my precious Shang, he’ll answer with his life!”
In the mall, Xu Huai Shang’s supporters (including casual fans, die-hard admirers, and the Honor Guard Unit) were clearly unimpressed. While this hostility was expected, the intensity of the crowd’s reaction to Feng Bu Jue’s mere appearance was undeniably exaggerated…
“Ladies and gentlemen, the long-awaited Butterfly Arena is finally here!” The announcer’s voice boomed from the giant screen. “I’m your commentator, Hua Xiong.”
“I’m Pan Feng,” Pan Feng added.
“Today’s match promises to be a focal point,” Hua Xiong continued. “Both participants are invited players—‘seed contestants.’ One of them needs no introduction. Yes, she’s the top expert of Red Cherry, the goddess of countless players’ hearts—the legendary Xu Huai Shang!”
A roar of applause erupted from the crowd below the main screen. Xu Huai Shang’s popularity was undeniable, her fanbase thriving across every corner of the mall.
“And the other…” Pan Feng interjected, his tone tinged with unease, likely recalling unpleasant memories. “A mysterious expert whose name has spread across Terrifying Paradise over the past month, yet few have seen his true face… Today, we’ll finally uncover his capabilities!”
Predictably, the crowd responded with jeers. Though the contestants couldn’t hear the noise, Xu Huai Shang’s supporters spared no effort in expressing their disdain.
“Alright, as you can see on screen, the match has officially begun,” Hua Xiong declared. “The two contestants stand face-to-face at the arena’s center, neither making the first move.”
Pan Feng chimed in, grasping for words. “This is an expert-level duel… Without knowing the opponent’s strength, neither will rashly act. My guess is that this combat will begin with a test of ranged attacks.”
The commentators wisely shifted focus to the battle itself, avoiding further discussion of Feng Bu Jue and Xu Huai Shang. Since both players had chosen anonymity on the Combat Power Leaderboard, the game’s officials couldn’t speculate about their rankings.
……
Meanwhile, the standoff in the Colosseum continued.
Xu Huai Shang’s weapon of choice was a pair of short blades, each strapped to her Utility Belt. Her hands hovered near the sheaths, yet she hesitated to draw them.
Facing the enigmatic Mad Bu Jue, she couldn’t shake her reservations. She’d heard rumors placing him as the Combat Leaderboard’s second-ranked player, but the studio had found no records of him—only adding to her unease.
“He looks clean-cut, almost frail… dressed in a stylish but cheap-looking outfit,” she mused. “No practical gear beyond common pockets, no visible weapon sheaths… But this could be a disguise… or arrogance.”
Suddenly, Feng Bu Jue moved—kneeling on one knee.
“What the… is he proposing?” Xu Huai Shang instinctively recoiled, startled despite the distance.
The next moment, Feng Bu Jue calmly activated his skills, summoning a peculiar elementary student.
“Sssss… Time for my grand entrance again…,” Mushiro Koganei hissed with a sinister chuckle.
Feng Bu Jue’s knee-drop was merely to fulfill the summoning requirement: “Perform a bizarre action.”
Xu Huai Shang quickly realized this but misinterpreted the trigger as “single-knee kneeling.”
“Is he a summoning-class player?” she wondered. “But this summoned entity looks weak… Could it be a high-tier psychic or magic-based summon?”
As Feng Bu Jue whispered to Koganei, the latter cackled and darted away, leaving the Colosseum entirely.
“Did I guess right?” Xu Huai Shang watched, still motionless. “Are you hiding this summon to ambush me with ranged tactics?”
“Hiding for an ambush… Hehehe…” Feng Bu Jue used a skill learned from Wooly—answering questions with a question, coupled with a sinister cackle.
This devious but effective technique often provoked opponents and created psychological pressure. Imagine responding to a teacher’s question about the Xinhai Revolution with, “The Xinhai Revolution… Hehehe…” Or replying to your boss’s inquiry about a report with, “The report… Hehehehe…” while making a face that screams, “Used it as toilet paper.”
This method was foolproof, though potentially fatal if used recklessly.
Back to the match—Feng Bu Jue’s summoning was actually just a quest requirement: “Use summoning system skills and successfully summon an entity fifty times.” With only two left, he seized the chance.
Unaware of this, Xu Huai Shang unknowingly bore the weight of psychological pressure, oblivious to the fact that the “threat” had already left the battlefield.
“Fine, don’t answer,” Xu Huai Shang said, her delicate brows furrowing. “You’re under no obligation to explain your tactics.” She gripped her dual blades, poised to strike. “Whatever your combat style, I’ll—” Her words halted abruptly as Feng Bu Jue did something else.
“He actually pulled out a Folding Stool from his satchel…” Xu Huai Shang couldn’t resist another inner monologue, suppressing her urge to criticize.
Feng Bu Jue swung the Folding Stool like a baseball batter warming up, his movements oddly professional.
After a deep breath, he turned to Xu Huai Shang. “I’m a gentleman who treasures beauty,” he said. “So… you’ll soon be freed from this violent competition.”
