Chapter 44: White wolf
Allison walked out of that dorm, head held high and holding tears that were definitely going to spill, it was only a matter of when. She kept walking until she reached the very gate of the Shadow base. The security at the gate tried to question her but the cold aura her made them think otherwise.
The base was located smack dab in the middle of a very big and dense forest. This was to deter their enemies from following them. The forest had a very difficult terrain and it was very easy to get lost but the people at Shadow knew this forest like the back of their palms.
Allison needed to clear her head. She had felt that familiar feeling from three years ago. The feeling that had almost taken root the day she was training with Courtney. The need to kill someone.
She started running and got further and further into the forest. After a while, she stopped to catch her breath. She heard a twig break in the distance and she snapped to attention. In all the years she had lived here, she hadn't seen one animal. Nil. Zero.
All thoughts of Everett and his betrayal forgotten, Allison treaded cautiously in the direction of the sound. She was in full agent mode and kept on walking until she reached a clearing in the forest. There a wolf was waiting for her. A white wolf to be exact.
A normal person's reaction would be to run away and scream bloody murder. But one had to know that Allison wasn't a normal person by any means. She inched closer and closer to the animal who was just staring at her. Finally, she reached it and placed her hand on its head. All at once, she was thrown into a barrage of images and voices.
" I will never forget you guys"
" You saved us"
" Your life was in danger"
"Is that what I've turned into? A commodity? "
" Maxwell! "
She let go in shock and landed on the ground. She crawled back but didn't take her eyes off the wolf. " What are you? "
But the girl didn't wait for the animal to do anything, she just turned and ran in the direction she came from. She kept on running until she reached the base. The security just exchanged looks of confusion as to why she was running like the hordes of hell were pursuing her. But Allison didn't care. She only had one person in mind. Tina.
Meanwhile, the white wolf slowly morphed back into a guy who was completely naked. A girl who resembled him closely walked out of the shadows and handed him clothes.
" That's her. Isn't it, brother? The girl you've been waiting for ", the girl said.
The man, fully dressed, just turned and started to walk away. "It's about time we met, mate. But Claressa, it looks like many things would have to be resolved first before we officially met".
