Chapter 438: The Test of the Silver Holy Secret Court (Revised)
Chapter 438: The Test of the Silver Holy Secret Court (Revised)
"We surrender." Seeing the commander's body, the ordinary Skrull soldiers and lower-ranking officers quickly chose to surrender.
The Skrull soldiers who joined the interstellar expeditionary force were no ordinary beings; they had keen judgment. They immediately recognized that Su Yu and Tina were not just any Holy Domain experts.
Their base defenses could withstand an attack from a sixth-rank Holy Domain expert, but the problem was that Tina and Su Yu were far more powerful than typical sixth-rank experts! Su Yu rushed in at an incredible speed, taking down their commander in a single move. Tina, on the other hand, effortlessly deflected a laser beam that could have severely injured a regular Holy Domain expert, without even messing up her hair!
This made it clear that these two were among the elite of the sixth-rank Holy Domain, far beyond what their base could handle.
Combined with Su Yu's psychological warfare, no soldier was willing to die for their country; they could only choose to surrender.
...
The Blue Star forces, stationed at the foot of the mountain, noticed Su Yu's successful capture of the Skrull base. Under the command of Commander Zhao, they arrived at the mountaintop in a large number of armed helicopters.
The armed helicopters landed in batches at the edge of the Skrull base. The soldiers disembarked in an orderly manner, brandishing assault rifles or laser guns confiscated from the Skrulls, and began to take control of the base.
This wasn't the first time the soldiers had taken over a Skrull base. They had undergone a live combat training exercise at Lingwu Mountain, so they were more efficient, organized, and disciplined this time.
"Drop your weapons!"
"Get down!"
"Hands on your heads!"
These commands in Skrull were shouted by the Blue Star soldiers, who had learned them from the prisoners over the past month.
The Skrull soldiers were surprised that these Blue Star humans could speak Skrull, but they didn't dare to say anything and complied by surrendering with their hands on their heads.
Some Skrull soldiers tried to use their racial abilities to disguise themselves as Blue Star soldiers, hoping to blend in. Su Yu showed no mercy, using a Thunderfall spell to obliterate them into dust.
These disguised Skrull soldiers were easy to identify. Blue Star soldiers had no psychic abilities, while the Skrulls, at least first-rank, had a psychic aura that was easy to detect.
After killing a dozen Skrull soldiers who tried to cause trouble, the others finally calmed down and quietly accepted their capture by the Blue Star army.
At this moment, Tina flew to Su Yu's side and stood beside him.
"Kexing, are there really 3,600 of these interdimensional bases?" Tina asked Su Yu softly.
"Yes," Su Yu nodded.
"Ah, it seems you have quite a bit of pressure on you!" Tina sighed slightly. "But I'll do my best to help you."
"Thank you, Tina." Su Yu moved closer and put his arm around her shoulders.
"You're welcome." Tina leaned her head gently on Su Yu's shoulder, her face filled with concern.
"Let's not talk about that for now." Su Yu changed the subject. "What was the skill you used to deflect that laser? It looked pretty powerful."
"It's Cross Slash!" Tina smiled. "Before I went on my world tour, I had promoted three generals in the military: Aganso, Buwanga, and Kaili."
"Cross Slash is one of Aganso's family's secret techniques. As a token of gratitude, he gifted it to me."
Su Yu nodded. "Ah, I see."
The name Cross Slash sounded quite straightforward.
As Su Yu and Tina chatted, the figure of Linke, the War Monitor of the Singer Civilization, slowly materialized in the air.
He raised his right hand and pointed it skyward, a blue beam of light shooting from his palm. The spatial rift in the sky gradually closed, eventually vanishing completely.
Su Yu bowed from a distance. "Greetings, Lord Linke!"
"Hello, Su Yu!" Linke slowly flew over to Su Yu. "I've been watching your actions, and you've done a remarkable job!"
"Oh, you flatter me. I still have a lot to improve," Su Yu modestly replied.
Linke stopped two meters in front of Su Yu and said seriously, "Su Yu, there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it?" Su Yu asked.
"It's like this," Linke said, reaching into his storage space and pulling out a reddish-brown wooden box. The box floated from his hand and landed in Su Yu's palm.
The lid of the box opened automatically, revealing a copper badge with a strange symbol on it.
Linke smiled. "After the Dean met you, he felt you were almost ready to join the Secret Arcana College, but you needed a bit more seasoning. So, he tasked me with giving you a special challenge—dealing with the Skrulls."
Linke continued, "During the war between your planet and Skrull, the Secret Arcana College will evaluate your performance on a scale of 1 to 10. If you score above 6, you'll be eligible to join the college."
Throughout their conversation, Linke didn't even glance at Tina, as if she weren't there at all.
Su Yu's eyes flickered, sensing something amiss.
He suddenly asked, "Lord Linke, can I decline this challenge?"
If he remembered correctly, the Dean of the Holy Silver Secret Arcana College had called him a "Seed of the Universe."
While he didn't know what that meant, it seemed odd for the Dean to set such a high bar for his entry.
Was this some kind of reverse psychology?
Linke clearly didn't expect this question and was momentarily taken aback.
As Su Yu suspected, they were indeed trying to use reverse psychology, but it seemed Su Yu had caught on.
"Cough, cough," Linke cleared his throat to change the subject. "You can't decline the challenge. It's like life itself—once you start, there's no turning back."
His gaze shifted to the wooden box in Su Yu's hand. "The copper badge inside represents college credits. The number '5' on the badge means you start with 5 credits. If you perform well in the war, you'll earn more credits. Once you complete the challenge and join the Secret Arcana College, you can convert all your badges into credits."
Su Yu nodded. "Ah, I see."
Now he fully understood the Dean's intentions.
The challenge was a facade; the real goal was to lure him into the Secret Arcana College with the promise of credits.
If Su Yu survived the war between Blue Star and Skrull, he would undoubtedly earn a large number of credits, possibly even thousands!
To avoid wasting these credits, he would have to join the Holy Silver Secret Arcana College rather than another organization.
The Dean was preventing him from joining other factions.
But Su Yu didn't mind.
The Holy Silver Secret Arcana College was the best academy in the Holy Silver Federation, and he had no intention of switching to another faction.
"Thank you, Lord Linke, for this challenge from the Dean!" Su Yu said sincerely.
"You're welcome. I hope you pass the challenge and join the college soon!" Linke encouraged.
