Chapter 437: Do You Want to Become a Yamato-Style Yakuza Boss?
After releasing the captives, Kuro ignored the rest of the unconscious bodies scattered around and led his men elsewhere.
The Navy was closing in on the 0th Area in layers. Practically no one would dare flee here now. Even if they did, given the locals’ cowardly nature, who would dare touch that Scum Survivor?
Kuro didn’t care either way. Let them provoke the world noble and teach them a lesson. But realistically, it was impossible. The encirclement plan, personally drafted by Kuro and supervised by Klah, was flawless.
Everyone hiding in the 0th Area was dragged out—executed or released as appropriate. Within a single day, the 0th Area was completely purged.
A long day, admittedly.
The Shabondy Archipelago, from the 10th to the 70th Area, had taken only two days to clear. But for the 0th Area, a lawless jungle of a place, Kuro had thrown his entire force at it, finally ending the operation in a single day.
60th Area, Navy Headquarters.
“This purge in the 0th Area netted a total of 20,056 people. Among them, 13,579 had committed major crimes—slavery, robbery, murder. All were long-term criminals in Shabondy. They’ve been executed.”
Inside the office, Klah casually floated a statistic. Kuro and Lida, seated before him, remained unmoved by the number.
But outsiders knew the grim reality behind those figures. That day, blood had flowed like rivers across Shabondy.
The Navy had executed their orders faithfully, judging each case under a single standard guided by their instincts, executing criminals in batches.
Some might have deserved lesser punishments, but none were innocent.
Kuro considered this cleansing a success.
“Isn’t this great?”
Kuro gazed out the window. Under his Observation Haki, the chaos and panic in Shabondy had all but vanished.
“Violence can’t solve problems, but it can eliminate the people causing them.”
He shrugged, plucking a cigar from the box on the desk, lighting it, and placing it between his lips.
Three days had passed since that day. After dealing with the bulk of the criminals, Shabondy had finally calmed down.
Pirate black gangs, thugs, and ruffians—all had vanished without a trace.
But there were side effects.
Even the civilians now moved cautiously. No matter how much the Navy publicized their safety campaigns, people remained wary. Going out felt like walking on eggshells, greetings exchanged with trembling voices, fearing that a loud word might draw the Navy’s attention.
Kuro could do nothing about it. To eradicate chaos with thunderous force, a small price was inevitable.
Who had the patience to delicately resolve this mess piece by piece, investing endless time?
He was already hoping for complaints to get him transferred elsewhere.
In time, memories would fade, and people would forget this terror, eventually embracing the peace they truly deserved.
“Inside!”
Suddenly, the office door burst open. Sazil shoved a burly man into the room, kicking him in the backside so he stumbled forward.
The man’s initial anger vanished the moment he saw Kuro seated above. His legs gave out, and he collapsed to his knees.
“Vice Admiral Kuro, this is the last remaining black gang leader in Shabondy. He was a smuggler—never committed major crimes, so we let him live,” Sazil reported, gesturing at the trembling figure.
“Appreciate the effort.”
Kuro nodded at Sazil before turning his gaze to the burly man, who shook like a sieve.
He forced a friendly smile. “What’s your name?”
Though Kuro tried to sound amiable, the man only trembled harder.
For three days, Lucius Kro’s name had echoed across Shabondy.
From the moment he landed, he’d done nothing but kill—endlessly, indiscriminately.
