Chapter 436
Chapter 436
Chapter 435. Phoenix Messenger
Sirius Black was momentarily at a loss for words. He hadn’t thought about it much when he bought the gift; he just wanted Harry to be happy.
“That’s amazing!” Harry suddenly said.
“What?” Sirius hadn’t quite processed it yet, and Harry pounced on him, hugging him tightly.
“I mean, I really like the Firebolt you gave me. It’s fantastic! It’s the best gift I’ve ever received!” Harry, both excited and choked up, hugged Sirius.
In just a short day, Harry’s emotions had been like a roller coaster, constantly rising and falling. He had just cleared up a misunderstanding and discovered he had a godfather—a family member!
Harry was overjoyed. This meant he could finally leave the Dursleys, the people he despised, and move out on his own.
It was almost a dream he had every night.
Sirius also hugged Harry back, smiling. The two quickly delved into past events and daily life, with Harry mainly complaining about the unfair treatment he received at the Dursleys’ house.
For example, Vernon and Petunia made him live in a storage room, wear old clothes, and occasionally punished him by not letting him eat dinner. They also tried to prevent him from attending Hogwarts to learn magic.
And there was the annoying little chubby Dudley, who, in the Muggle school, often teamed up with his cronies to bully him.
“How dare they treat you like that? Didn’t Dumbledore check on your life after he sent you there?”
Learning about Harry’s experiences, Sirius was very angry. He immediately declared that once he was exonerated and regained his freedom, he would give them a good lesson!
Harry no longer cared much about what had happened in the past, but hearing Sirius’s words still warmed his heart.
“Hey, Sirius! Can I move in with you this summer?”
Harry asked hopefully, and then quickly added, remembering something.
“Oh, I almost forgot. You just escaped from Azkaban and were disowned by your family. You might not have your own place yet. But that’s okay, we can rent a house.”
To Harry, living on the streets was better than staying with the Dursleys, not to mention he had the inheritance his parents left him. Sirius could stay at the Leaky Cauldron with him, and they wouldn’t go hungry or cold.
“No, no need for that, Harry! I have my own place, a very large and grand house. And I’m not short of money, otherwise, how could I have bought you the Firebolt?” Sirius laughed.
Despite being removed from the Black family List, he was still the first heir of the Black family because the other living members were witches, either married into other families or imprisoned in Azkaban. He had the right to manage all the family’s assets!
That was money they could spend for several lifetimes.
“That’s great!” Harry was so excited he almost jumped up.
Sirius was also very happy, imagining a wonderful future. The hardships he had endured seemed less unbearable.
Ivan, watching from the side, understood that Harry and Sirius’s hopes might be dashed. Dumbledore would never allow Harry to move out.
Because as long as Harry stayed with his relatives, the protective magic that Lily had cast would be strengthened, preventing Voldemort from harming him.
Ivan didn't dampen the mood by saying it right away. It would be nice to let Harry and Sirius Black enjoy a few more days.
After a lengthy conversation, the sky was already dark, and Harry and the others, still engrossed, even planned to invite Sirius to spend the night in their dormitory.
"That won't do. Sirius needs to go to the staff lounge to keep an eye on Peter, so he doesn't run away!" Before Sirius could respond, Ivan shook his head and interrupted Harry's idea.
"Sorry, Harry! Professor Dumbledore instructed me to follow Hals's orders while I'm in the lounge", Sirius shrugged helplessly.
Sirius didn't find Dumbledore's order strange, as he suspected that Dumbledore might be intentionally grooming Ivan as his successor. After all, Ivan's magical talent and adaptability left a deep impression on Sirius. Such abilities were far beyond what a thirteen-year-old young wizard should have, even he felt inferior.
Even Dumbledore and the Dark Lord might not have been as outstanding when they were young.
Sirius silently mused to himself.
Harry looked a bit disappointed. He had hoped to talk more with Sirius before going to bed, as he had so many things to say.
"Plenty of time ahead, Harry!" Sirius saw Harry's reluctance and laughed heartily. "We can talk about anything tomorrow. We'll see each other every day!"
Harry nodded, understanding that the most important thing now was to keep an eye on Peter, so he didn't say anything more.
Ivan felt relieved to see the two of them being so reasonable.
Sending Sirius to watch over Peter was just an excuse. Ivan had already arranged for Dobby to keep a constant eye on Peter. Given Dobby's limited intelligence, which might be easily fooled, Ivan ordered Dobby to cast a Stupefy spell on Peter every two hours to ensure he wouldn't wake up.
So there was no way Peter could escape. Ivan had sent Sirius away because he might have to do some things late at night these days, and Sirius wasn't as easy to fool as Harry and Ron!
Once Sirius left the Gryffindor common room, Ivan, who had already planned his next steps, excused himself by saying Dumbledore needed him and bid farewell to Harry and the others, heading to the Headmaster's Office alone.
"Cockroach Cluster!"
As Ivan spoke the password to enter the Headmaster's Office, the door to the passage slowly opened.
Ivan strode into the Headmaster's Office, took out the magical letter Dumbledore had sent from the central desk drawer, and carefully placed his Wand on the blank letter, slowly channeling magical energy.
Faint ink began to appear on the Parchment, forming words as the lines connected.
It was Dumbledore's handwriting, and the content was automatically polished, written in Dumbledore's usual tone.
"Truly a convenient yet dangerous magic", Ivan couldn't help but think, marveling at the scene. If the letter were to fall into the wrong hands, couldn't the person use Dumbledore's identity to act?
However, for some shocking news or outlandish suggestions, only Fawkes, the Phoenix, could deliver the letter to ensure it was definitely from Dumbledore.
After all, in the entire magical world, only Dumbledore could use a Phoenix as a messenger!
