Chapter 436: Giving Dumbledore a
"Fawkes, come here!" After writing the Letters, Ivan put them in Envelopes, stacked them aside, and then gestured to the Phoenix perched on the Olive Branch.
Fawkes flapped its wings and flew to the table in front of Ivan, curiously eyeing the Envelopes.
"Do you see this List? Deliver the Letters in the order it specifies, got it?" Ivan pointed to the List Dumbledore had given him and said.
Fawkes nodded, picked up an Envelope, and then burst into a golden-red flame, disappearing from the Headmaster's Office along with the letter.
Not long after, Fawkes returned and picked up the next letter, repeating the process over and over.
"Really efficient!" Seeing that Fawkes had delivered half of the Letters in just ten minutes using its instant teleportation ability, Ivan felt an even greater appreciation for the Phoenix's bloodline.
However, now was not the time to draw blood, as he only had two points of legendary value. Even with plenty of Phoenix blood, he couldn't complete the fourth bloodline fusion ceremony.
Moreover, if the blood of magical creatures wasn't preserved properly, its potency would significantly decrease after three days, greatly reducing the fusion's effectiveness.
With this in mind, Ivan sighed and temporarily set aside his plan to fuse with Phoenix blood, focusing instead on the task at hand. He took out the Time-Turner from his pocket and began to gently turn the golden hourglass.
As the hourglass rotated, the surroundings froze, then quickly shifted, as if everything was moving away.
To be safe and avoid triggering the protection mechanism during important tasks, which could force him back to the original timeline, Ivan only turned the hourglass five times, staying within the safe limit.
Since he was only going back a short time, Ivan was not affected much. When everything returned to normal, he immediately glanced at the clock hanging in the Headmaster's Office.
It was around four in the afternoon, with the evening sun shining through the windows into the Headmaster's Office. The central desk was empty, with nothing on it.
"Wait, so the Letters and the Time-Turner haven't been delivered yet?"
Feeling a glimmer of excitement, Ivan, who was already dissatisfied with the Old Professor passing the buck to him, decided to lie in wait in the Headmaster's Office.
If he ran out of time, he could always go back again; he had plenty of time to spare!
However, after waiting for over half an hour, just as Ivan was getting impatient, the fireplace in the Headmaster's Office suddenly burst into flames, a tall golden-red flame shooting up.
A wave of excitement washed over Ivan, but he was taken aback when only a golden-red bird emerged from the flames.
It was holding a thick Envelope in its claws, a faintly glowing Time-Turner hung around its neck, and it had a Elder Wand in its beak.
Seeing Ivan, Fawkes flew over, chirping happily, and the Wand it was holding fell to the ground.
Ivan instinctively picked up the Wand, his lips twitching. Dumbledore was being too ruthless, leaving all these important items for Fawkes to deliver while not showing up himself.
"You're not being fair, so don't blame me for being unfair", Ivan thought to himself.
Since Dumbledore had mentioned in his letter that he would bring a surprise upon his return, it was only fitting that Ivan prepare one for him as well!
Ivan reached out, removed the Time-Turner and the Envelope from Fawkes, and tossed them onto the desk.
Then, he took out a pre-written Envelope from his robes and placed it in Fawkes' beak.
"Help me send this letter to Rita Skeeter at the Daily Prophet. Tell her to drop everything and meet me at the Leaky Cauldron immediately!" Ivan said.
In the evening, the Leaky Cauldron was bustling with noise and the smell of alcohol.
The owner, Tom, warmly greeted every customer, the bar counter filled with empty beer bottles, and the atmosphere was lively and harmonious.
Rita Skeeter, however, looked at everything with disdain. As a refined lady, she had always disliked such chaotic places.
"Damn brat!" Rita Skeeter cursed inwardly. If it weren't for the threat he had over her, she wouldn't have left her unfinished work to come to such a place.
"Would you like a butterbeer, Ms. Skeeter?" The owner, Tom, who seemed a bit drunk, laughed and asked.
"No, thank you", Rita Skeeter replied haughtily, then asked, "Where is Room 7? Someone wants to meet me to discuss something."
"Upstairs, second door on the right", Tom shrugged and answered.
Rita Skeeter nodded, went upstairs, found the room, and as she opened the door, she grumbled, "What do you want, Hals? Don't think you can threaten me with that thing."
But when she saw who was waiting inside, her eyes widened, and she stammered, "Albus Dumbledore?"
At this moment, Ivan was disguised as Dumbledore. He found Rita Skeeter's surprise amusing.
On the surface, Ivan maintained his usual calm demeanor, nodding slightly and saying, "Yes, I had Hals write the letter to bring you here to discuss some matters."
Only then did Rita Skeeter remember that while the letter was written in Ivan's handwriting, there was a golden-red feather on the Envelope.
She felt a pang of fear, unable to imagine what kind of matter could make someone like Dumbledore so cautious.
Why was he going through such lengths to meet her?
Rita Skeeter didn't know that Ivan was simply trying to save the magical letter Dumbledore had given him.
"So, what do you need my help with?" Rita Skeeter quickly composed herself and sat down across from Ivan, forcing a smile.
"Everything you need to know is written here, take a look!" Ivan turned the Parchment on the table and pushed it toward Rita Skeeter.
