Chapter 435: Unexpected Visitor
Chapter 435: Unexpected Visitor
Having secured victory, Xiao Tan immediately logged out after teleporting from the scenario.
Si Yu and Bei Ling naturally found Xiao Tan's behavior suspicious. However, Feng Bu Jue, who had some vague understanding of the situation, immediately declared with unwavering certainty, "I've got this under control. I'm logging out to handle it now—tomorrow I'll give you both a full explanation."
With that, Feng Bu Jue returned to the Login Space and selected "Log Out and Awaken."
Naturally, after what had just happened, neither Bei Ling nor Si Yu had the heart to continue playing. They logged out one after the other to rest.
Two minutes later, in the real world, inside Feng Bu Jue's home.
The Gaming Pod's hatch popped open, and Feng Bu Jue sat up inside.
Scratching his tousled hair, he climbed out of the Gaming Pod and muttered, "Hmm… Should I call him first?" He hesitated for a second before deciding, "No… Better to pay him a visit in person. This conversation should happen face-to-face."
After muttering to himself, Feng Bu Jue prepared to change clothes.
"You're going nowhere." A voice abruptly cut through the air.
In that instant, Feng Bu Jue's first thought was—his house had been broken into.
The room's lights were all off. Only a few components on the Gaming Pod glowed faintly. Though Feng Bu Jue couldn't see the intruder's position, his sharp ears detected the person sitting on the sofa. This was his home, after all.
Without hesitation, Feng Bu Jue darted forward like an arrow, crouching low as he rushed toward the kitchen.
"Hehehe… I wouldn’t recommend going to grab a knife", the person on the sofa chuckled sinisterly.
At that unmistakable evil laugh, Feng Bu Jue froze mid-step. His mind raced, instantly recalling where he'd heard this voice before.
"You're…" Feng Bu Jue turned his head, "the Game Administrator?"
Snap!
Wooly clicked his fingers, and the living room lights suddenly blazed to life.
"Hehe… I never claimed to be the Game Administrator", Wooly grinned. "That was your speculation—and a wrong one at that."
Feng Bu Jue stared at the four-eyed man in the crisp suit on the sofa. After a short silence, he asked, "How did you get in? What do you want?"
"Hehe… Interesting…" Wooly chuckled again. "You didn’t ask how I found your address. Instead, you jumped straight to how I got inside, which means you already have a theory about how I obtained your information."
"Hmph… I never expected those game companies to honor their promises about 'user privacy,'" Feng Bu Jue replied. "Even if nerve connection data is controlled by the Optical Brain, the personal details I submitted on the forum were still backed up by your Dream Corporation, weren’t they?"
"Exactly! Hehe… I know you don’t trust any third-party platforms—transaction websites, courier companies, chain hotels, telecom departments, even government agencies…" Wooly added. "But please believe me, Dream Corporation absolutely respects player privacy. Your information never leaked through us."
"Oh? Then tell me this—how did you find my home?" Feng Bu Jue asked, now standing at the edge of the sofa.
"The answer is in your mind", Wooly said, adjusting his glasses. "Think harder. Don’t you remember what I told you last time?"
……
"The images and sounds already present in your memory? I’ve already absorbed them completely—no need for you to tell me anything."
……
The memory flashed through Feng Bu Jue’s mind, and he sneered, "Hmph… Playing mysterious. Trying to say you can read minds?"
"Don’t believe me?" Wooly asked. "If I couldn’t, then tell me—how could I possibly know that Wang Tan Zhi killed someone ten years ago?"
Feng Bu Jue’s expression shifted sharply, countless scenarios flashing through his mind.
"Your thoughts move fast, but you’re still trapped within conventional logic", Wooly said. "If you acknowledged the existence of supernatural forces, our conversation would flow more smoothly." He tilted his head and smiled again. "And then you could stop wasting brainpower wondering how this four-eyed man turned on the lights."
"I get it… Your company’s Gaming Pod can completely steal player memories", Feng Bu Jue insisted, clinging to rational explanations.
"Hehe… Still clinging to science, huh?" Wooly turned his head. "Then… Assass, why don’t you speak up?"
"That idiotic name for such a clueless kid—only a boss as clueless as you would use it", Assass said, stepping out from the corner of the room. The voice was unmistakably a young woman’s.
"Uh…" Feng Bu Jue’s mind short-circuited for two seconds before he turned to Wooly, "Ventri… ventriloquism?"
"I couldn’t possibly make my voice that high-pitched", Wooly replied.
Assass leapt onto the sofa, slinking along the backrest to lie down. "I know what you’ll think next—that I’ve hidden a microphone somewhere…" It paused. "But if you dare to grope me anywhere except my head, I’ll tear you apart."
"You’re a male cat! A male cat!" Feng Bu Jue snapped, thoroughly losing his composure. "No… this can’t be real! This must be a TV show prank! The lights were rigged… there’s a hidden camera on the cat’s collar or…"
Zhiiiss!
Wooly’s fingers flicked in the air, and in an instant, Feng Bu Jue’s right leg was cleanly severed at the thigh.
Thud! The severed limb hit the floor. Feng Bu Jue turned deathly pale, wobbled for a second, then collapsed.
"Relax—this is cross-dimensional cutting. See? No blood, no pain", Wooly grinned. "Hehe… How’s this for an explanation? Magic? Hypnosis? Or did you accidentally smoke a lot of weed?"
Feng Bu Jue raised his head, staring at the "severed leg." He saw a perfect cross-section—the bone marrow, bones, blood vessels, muscles, fat, and skin—still moving, yet without a drop of blood. The stump attached to his body looked the same.
"Want to study it a little longer? Or should I reattach it now?" Wooly asked.
"Reattach it", Feng Bu Jue said, regaining his composure.
Wooly snapped his fingers. The severed leg flew up on its own, rejoining its owner perfectly—even the torn pajama pants mended themselves.
"Sit down and talk", Wooly gestured politely.
Feng Bu Jue narrowed his eyes, staring at Wooly as he slowly sat directly across from him. "So… vampires, zombies, ghosts, Buddha… are all those real?"
"Why does your list of four feel… off?" Assass interjected with a snarky remark.
"Some are", Wooly replied. "Others… hehe… are myths your human minds created."
"Oh…" Feng Bu Jue’s thoughts spiraled. "Wait… You said you were from hell, right?"
"Correct."
"And you also said…" Feng Bu Jue strained to recall their previous conversation, "that you come from where I’m from, and I’m going where you’ll end up."
"Surprised? Think you’ll end up in heaven after death?" Wooly asked.
"Not at all", Feng Bu Jue replied. "But I need to confirm this—my time to go there… it’s not in the near future, right?"
"You’re worried about that shadow in your mind?" Wooly chuckled. "Haven’t you noticed yet? The moment I entered this room… you’ve regained the ability to feel fear."
Feng Bu Jue’s face drained of color. A terrible suspicion took root in his mind. He locked eyes with Wooly and asked gravely, "Was it you… who did something to my brain?"
"Ahh… Could I have? Hehehe…" Wooly chuckled ambiguously. "I know you have countless questions. But I might not answer them all… hehe…" His sinister laugh echoed again. "Let’s focus on the most urgent matter first." He enunciated each word as he spoke the name: "Wang Tan Zhi."
