Chapter 433: Ivan: No More Pretending, I Am the Greatest Student in Hogwarts History!
Chapter 433: Ivan: No More Pretending, I Am the Greatest Student in Hogwarts History!
"No, that's not true! Black is lying! They are the liars, I am innocent!"
Peter trembled as he lay in the center of the corridor, facing everyone's disgusted, suspicious, and contemptuous gazes. He loudly tried to defend himself.
Sirius Black sneered, picked Peter up, and then roughly tore off his clothes!
"Ah, ah, ah!" Several young girls screamed at Sirius's violent actions, covering their eyes with their hands, only daring to peek through the gaps between their fingers.
"This is the Dark Mark, the proof of a Death Eater!" Black pointed to the skull mark on Peter's left arm and said.
The Dark Mark had a peculiar design, as if a winding snake was crawling out of the skull's mouth, forming an eight-shaped loop on the arm, vivid and lifelike. Just looking at it sent chills down one's spine.
A young wizard in the front row even fell off his seat in terror, and the other students were too afraid to speak.
"Mr. Black is right, this is the Dark Mark! Perhaps you have never seen it, but I am sure your parents remember it well! This is also why I am certain that Peter is a traitor!"
Dumbledore spoke gravely, then looked at Sirius and continued, "Mr. Black, please put Peter's clothes back on, don't frighten the children."
Sirius nodded and roughly pulled Peter's clothes back on, spitting on the ground as he did so!
As Peter's identity was revealed, Ivan watched the drama unfold below, reflecting on the mysterious nature of time.
He had just devised a specific plan for a public relations offensive against the Ministry of Magic in the Headmaster's Office.
Now, sitting in the Great Hall, his future self, using Dumbledore's identity, had already realized everything he had envisioned.
But according to the script, wouldn't it be time soon?
With this thought, Ivan adjusted his clothes, preparing himself to avoid laughing out loud.
Sure enough, after condemning Peter for a while, Dumbledore suddenly changed his tone and solemnly declared:
"This matter could be resolved so smoothly thanks to one person! He is the greatest student in Hogwarts history, the youngest recipient of the Order of Merlin!
It was he who discovered the Rat's abnormality and, through meticulous investigation, uncovered the truth. Without him, the entire wizarding world would have been kept in the dark, and Mr. Black would not have been exonerated!"
Although Dumbledore did not directly name the person, everyone knew that only one person met these criteria.
All eyes turned to Ivan, and Dumbledore called out loudly at that moment:
"Ivan Hals!"
Ivan stood up under the reverent gazes of the crowd, bowed slightly, and then looked at Dumbledore humbly, saying:
"Professor Dumbledore, I only did some minor work, fulfilling my duty as an outstanding student!"
With that, Ivan turned his gaze to Peter and continued with a righteous tone:
"Furthermore, as a member of the Order of Merlin, I cannot tolerate a shameful traitor who feigned death to receive the Order of Merlin and enjoy the praise of the people! I must expose his true face to the public!"
Ivan's voice, amplified by the Sonorus Charm, echoed throughout the Great Hall, reaching the ears of every young wizard. Thunderous applause soon filled the hall.
Sitting in the Slytherin section, Malfoy felt a mix of anger and jealousy.
He had discovered Professor Lupin's Werewolf identity and caught Ivan and others secretly meeting with the Ministry of Magic fugitive, Sirius Black. He should have been the one standing there, receiving the applause!
But how did things suddenly turn out this way?
Sirius Black was exonerated, and Ivan had become a hero. All his efforts had come to nothing, and he had even been scolded by Professor Snape for passing on false information.
"You are the most humble student I have ever met, Hals!" Professor Dumbledore said, clapping from the stage. "In recognition of your contributions, I will award three hundred points to Gryffindor!"
Three hundred points?!
The Young Wizards in the audience were stunned. This was undoubtedly the highest single-point award in Hogwarts history!
Ivan's face lit up with joy. He had just heard the system's notification, and his academic points had also increased by three hundred!
This proved that he could indeed award points to himself!
The only thing that disappointed Ivan was that he hadn't received the Legendary Title of Outstanding Student, despite all his boasting.
However, Ivan quickly adjusted his expression and gave Dumbledore a meaningful look, signaling to continue the point awards.
Dumbledore's face showed a hint of exasperation.
Ivan, however, smirked. Why are you putting on an act? You're the headmaster; just find any reason, and it'll work!
Dumbledore then turned to the audience and spoke again.
"I must also apologize to Mr. Hals! I believe everyone remembers that I once deducted points from Hals for certain reasons. I now realize that it was all a misunderstanding, so Gryffindor will receive an additional one hundred points!"
As he spoke, Dumbledore tapped the score pool in the Great Hall with his old Wand, and the Gryffindor score rose even higher, nearly overflowing.
The Young Wizards from the other three houses looked at Gryffindor's towering score with a sense of despair. It seemed that the House Cup would once again be claimed by Gryffindor this year.
The Professors on the stage furrowed their brows, glancing at Dumbledore, hesitant to voice their concerns about the excessive point awards.
Ivan's face darkened. The system hadn't responded this time, indicating that the points were invalid.
Ivan looked questioningly at the old Professor on the stage, wondering what was going on.
Dumbledore shook his head slightly, which was the reason for his earlier exasperation. He knew the points were invalid and would have to deal with the Professors' suspicions later, but he still had to do it.
After the exchange, Ivan sighed and sat down, pondering the system's reward mechanism.
Dumbledore ignored him and turned to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, commending their contributions, awarding each of them ten or twenty points to placate them.
After all, strictly speaking, Harry and the others had only gone through the motions and hadn't done much. Awarding them too many points would likely spark a collective protest from the other houses.
