Chapter 431: Big Feet and a Worm's Tail
Chapter 431: Big Feet and a Worm's Tail
The sudden appearance of Kyle startled everyone, even Professor Lupin, who had been about to punch Sirius in the face, paused instinctively.
Only Sirius remained unaffected, still rushing towards Ron's Blinky without looking back.
But without his wand, he was quickly repelled by Harry and Hermione, his body flying backward and slamming into a table with a loud crash.
"Kyle, Kyle?" Professor Lupin came to his senses, saying incredulously, "How are you here?"
"Hello, Professor." Kyle smiled and pointed to the corner where he had been, "I've been here for a while, right there... but none of you saw me."
"What? Have you been here all along?" Professor Lupin frowned.
Although he had been watching Sirius all the time and wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings, he couldn't have missed a person, could he?
And what he wanted to ask wasn't this...
"What I mean is, how did you find this place." Professor Lupin continued.
"Followed the map."
Kyle took out a large piece of parchment, "I was looking at this in the dorm, and then I came to where the five of you left the castle before curfew."
"The Marauder's Map!"
After all, it was something he had helped create and used for several years, so Professor Lupin only needed a glance to recognize the parchment.
"Did you take it from Filch's office?"
"No, I've never been to Filch's office." Kyle shook his head and said, "I borrowed this."
"Wait, Kyle!"
At this moment, Harry suddenly noticed something wrong and quickly said, "You said five people left the castle?"
"Yes." Kyle nodded.
Harry thought carefully again, "But there are only three of us, plus Professor Lupin, so there should be four, unless Sirius entered the castle again?"
"No." Kyle said, "The map shows that next to Professor Lupin, there's also a person named Peter Pettigrew."
"Impossible!" Ron was a little exasperated, "How is it Peter again? It's clearly Blinky!"
"Yes." This time, Professor Lupin also stood by his side, "We've already confirmed that it's not an Animagus, I think the map must be malfunctioning... I mean, it's been around for a long time."
"The map can't be wrong!"
Before Kyle could speak, Sirius got up from the ground and shouted in refutation.
At this moment, he looked extremely excited and rushed towards Kyle, but after running out a few feet, his body floated uncontrollably like a balloon.
"Wandless spell..." Hermione covered her mouth in surprise.
"No!" Professor Lupin shook his head and stared at a blue worm the size of a fist next to Sirius, "It's a Billywig... anyone stung by it will float uncontrollably."
"Sorry, Sirius is too excited right now, I think this will help calm him down." Kyle shrugged.
Then he reached out and caught the returning Billywig.
Ron stood beside him, feeling envious. If his Blinky had this ability, it probably wouldn't have been taken away.
Sirius was still struggling, but Professor Lupin had already found a rope and tied him up tightly.
Now he looked even more like a balloon.
"Let's go." He said, "It's already late, we need to quickly hand Sirius over to Professor Dumbledore."
Professor Lupin paused for a moment, but in the end, he didn't say to hand him directly to the Dementors.
As Kyle was about to leave, he noticed Kyle staring at the rat in Ron's hand.
Blinky had stopped struggling and was now comfortably nestled in Ron's hand, seemingly with a smile on his face.
"Why are you laughing, Peter?" Kyle asked.
"You still don't realize it?" Kyle reminded him. "You can't transform back into your human form. Unless you think Professor Lupin and Sirius are both idiots and got the spell wrong."
The joy in the rat's eyes was replaced by fear, visible to the naked eye.
Were Professor Lupin and Sirius idiots?
Of course not; in fact, they were both top-performing graduates.
Blinky seemed to realize something, and his eyes grew wider with fear. He started struggling again, even biting Ron's finger.
"Ouch!" Ron exclaimed, loosening his grip.
But Blinky, now on the ground, didn't run. Instead, he kept spinning in circles and emitting a sharp squeak.
"Blinky, what's wrong?" Ron asked anxiously.
"Nothing, he's just confirming something," Kyle said, looking at Ron. "Can I borrow your wand for a moment?"
Ron held his wand tightly, refusing to let go.
"Use mine," Harry offered, handing his wand to Ron. He looked at the rat on the ground with a complex expression.
There were too many questions in his mind, and he didn't want to miss any chance of learning the truth.
"Thank you."
Kyle took the wand and placed it on the ground, then said to Blinky with a smile, "You can try it yourself and see if you can reverse the Animagus transformation."
Blinky didn't move... He wasn't going to be that foolish and expose himself.
Kyle probably guessed his thoughts and said, "Don't worry. If you can transform back, I'll let you go."
As he spoke, Kyle suddenly pointed his wand at Hermione and said, "Disarm!"
Kyle caught Hermione's wand and put it in his pocket, along with Professor Lupin's and his own.
"See, now no one can threaten you," Kyle said, spreading his hands. "As long as you can transform back, you can get Harry's wand and escape anytime."
"Kyle, you're not..." Professor Lupin wanted to say something, but before he could finish, Blinky moved.
In Ron's disbelieving gaze, Blinky rammed into Harry's wand.
Unlike the previous blue light, this time, the wand emitted a white glow.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, Blinky's body trembled... but nothing happened.
Even Ron noticed that something was wrong with Blinky. He seemed to go crazy, repeatedly ramming into the wand with increasing force, breaking the fur on his head.
A few drops of blood fell onto the wand, making Harry feel nauseous.
He understood why Kyle had wanted to borrow Ron's wand.
"Haha... Peter... hahaha..." Sirius's laughter filled the room, a crystal tear rolling down his cheek and landing on the dusty floor.
