Chapter 421: The Shameless Old Spider
Chapter 421: The Shameless Old Spider
As the two slowly approached, the Chimaera had calmed down.
It glanced at Lui Wei, who was grinning and baring his teeth behind them, and took another step back.
"That fool has no ill intentions," it said. "Do you know Hagrid?"
"He's my professor," Kyle said, standing in place. "We heard that you were injured, so we came here in the middle of the night... We're here to help you."
"Help me?"
"That's right," Kyle nodded, glancing at the bandaged hind legs. "We have extensive experience in treating such bites; we're absolutely professional."
Newt also timely took out a bottle of medicine and walked to the Chimaera's front leg.
The wound, which had just been bitten by Lui Wei, was still oozing blood.
Feeling the pain from the injury, the Chimaera couldn't help but curse Lui Wei again.
If only it had known better, it wouldn't have followed Hagrid to this place, and what was all that talk about Fluffy protecting it during its recovery from other creatures... Protection, my foot! It would rather face those giant spiders now...
Newt parted the thick fur and sprinkled the medicine on the wound.
This particular medicine was specially prepared by Newt when he went to Rome, targeting dragons. It was a mixture of White Fresh Essence and various herbs, and even included a drop of a phoenix's tear.
If it worked on dragons, it would certainly work on the Chimaera.
Soon, the bleeding stopped.
The pain gradually subsided... The Chimaera looked at Newt in surprise.
Hagrid had been changing the Chimaera's bandages for several days, yet the healing effect was not as good as what Newt had achieved in just a few minutes.
"I told you, we're professionals," Kyle said with a smile, and took out a fresh cow leg.
Lui Wei immediately came over, sniffing eagerly, and drooled all over the ground.
"There's none for you."
Kyle slapped the middle head of Lui Wei, "You bit someone, and you still have the nerve to come and eat? Go away."
Lui Wei looked a little aggrieved but obediently lay down on the ground, covering its eyes and nose with its claws.
Out of sight, out of mind.
However, with three heads and two front claws, it was obvious that the middle head had to close its eyes and stick its nose into a hollow tree stump next to it.
Seeing Lui Wei's pitiful state, the Chimaera's mood instantly improved, and it tore into the cow leg, deliberately making loud noises.
Lui Wei covered its ears.
As the Chimaera ate the cow leg, Newt removed its bandages and began to apply more medicine.
With the bleeding stopped and food in its stomach, the Chimaera's attitude towards Kyle and Newt became even more friendly, and it even initiated a conversation with Newt.
Its mood stabilized, like a Sphinx, showing no signs of its supposed "violent temperament."
From midnight to dawn.
As the sky gradually brightened, Kyle, who had spent the entire night in the Forbidden Forest, prepared to leave. It was Monday, and he still had classes to attend.
Newt decided to stay a while longer. Originally, he had planned to escort Kyle out of the forest before returning, but Lui Wei had already followed Kyle, so he abandoned that idea.
After leaving the ravaged thicket, Kyle noticed Lui Wei's low spirits and stealthily took out three dried Tubercle Boar legs, which were drying in the sun.
Lui Wei's eyes lit up, and it began to drool again.
"Eat up, this is much more fragrant than the cow leg..." Kyle patted its head.
Lui Wei immediately pounced excitedly, devouring the legs in a few bites, still licking his lips.
Kyle took out three more legs.
These were small snacks he had prepared for Norbert, and while they might not fill up Lui Wei, they would certainly satisfy its cravings.
After feeding Lui Wei, Kyle led it to the hollow where the giant spider, Aragog, resided.
Before returning to the castle, he still had to collect his loot.
But as they approached, Kyle unexpectedly saw a tall figure.
It was Hagrid, talking to Aragog, and the old spider was gesturing wildly and incoherently, seemingly excited.
Kyle could hear some fragmented words.
"Small wizard... Immoral... Sneak attack... Extort venom..."
Kyle smirked.
He thought of many possibilities, breach of contract, ambush, but never expected the old spider to report to Hagrid.
He only wanted a dozen pints of venom, was it that much?
After all, it's a 5X-level magical creature, right? Is it really okay to not pay up?
Kyle took a deep breath and patted the excited Lui Wei, "Run around from here, circle a few times, and come back."
Lui Wei was a bit confused but still obediently did as told... He sprinted off.
"Lui Wei?" Hagrid also noticed it and hurriedly called out, "What are you doing here, stop..."
Lui Wei paused for a moment, but soon started running again.

Hagrid immediately left Aragog and chased after Lui Wei without looking back.
"Don't run, Lui Wei... What's wrong with you?"
After they left, Kyle emerged with a sullen face, holding a large flowerpot in his arms.
A dozen eight-eyed giant spiders immediately surrounded him.
"Human..." The old spider's voice sounded smug. "You'd better leave here quickly. Hagrid said you're not allowed in the Forbidden Forest.
If you leave now, I can pretend I don't know anything."
"What about my things?" Kyle asked.
"What things..." The old spider waved its large claw, obviously preparing to refuse payment.
"Hagrid is nearby, and the dragon's noise is enough to attract his attention. If you don't want trouble, it's best to leave quickly."
Kyle narrowed his eyes, "So you're not planning to make it through tomorrow, right? Hagrid can't stay here watching..."
"We will inform the castle," the old spider said, "You're not allowed to keep dragons either, I know..."
"I understand." Kyle narrowed his eyes. "Since you said so, I'll use a more reasonable approach."
Kyle took out his wand.
"Wizard!"
Aragog couldn't see, but an eight-eyed giant spider next to it immediately stepped forward, "Using magic... Are you declaring war on us!"
"War? Of course not, I just feel a bit cold."
In front of all the eight-eyed giant spiders, Kyle simply cast a pair of earplugs for himself and put them on, then put away his wand and freed his hand to grab a clump of grass on the flowerpot in his arms.
He looked around and confirmed that there were no others nearby...
"So, how about listening to a piece of music?"
After speaking, Kyle pulled out the mandrake from the flowerpot with a strong tug.
A piercing scream echoed through the Forbidden Forest, and the surrounding eight-eyed giant spiders struggled for a moment before collapsing on the ground.
After a few seconds, Kyle replanted the mandrake.
It didn't take long, the eight-eyed giant spiders wouldn't die, but it was enough to let them sleep for a while.
When the screams stopped, among the eight-eyed giant spiders present, only Aragog and some larger ones could barely stand.
"How is it, do you like it?"
Kyle looked at the old spider and said, "By the way, I have over a dozen pots of mandrakes like this. We can hold a concert for you.
Also, it's completely legal, as long as the other party isn't a wizard, even if they find out, it's fine."
