Chapter 420: He at Hogwarts
Chapter 420: He at Hogwarts
"Quite an unusual discovery, isn't it, Severus?"
"Harry's" tone was colder and more chilling than ever before.
Lily had already been completely stunned in place the moment Snape addressed "Harry" with that title, while Snape himself remained more composed than usual.
"Why are you possessing Harry, my Lord?"
Voldemort, who had taken control of Harry's body just hours after his apparent death in front of everyone, stared coldly at Snape.
"Do you really think I'm foolish enough to be deceived by you, Severus? If I hadn't figured out your true allegiance by now, I wouldn't deserve to be your master for so long. You betrayed me for this woman long ago!"
With Voldemort's words so bluntly spoken, Snape no longer pretended.
Without hesitation, he pointed his wand at Voldemort, who was controlling Harry's body, and cast the Binding Curse. Magical ropes appeared and tightly bound him.
Voldemort showed no sign of resistance, merely watching Snape's actions with a cold, mocking look, without uttering a word.
"Alright, I'll ask you again, why are you in Harry's body?"
Snape took a deep breath, trying to keep his voice as calm as possible.
Voldemort had no intention of answering, his face twisted with a mocking smile.
"Even the title of 'master' is gone now?"
"If you had accomplished what you promised, I wouldn't have chosen to stand against you."
Snape's face, usually stern, twitched. This might be the only time in his life he would have such a candid conversation with Voldemort.
"I've always admired your talents, Severus", Voldemort said coldly, "from the moment you joined my ranks, I could sense that you would be the most capable among all my followers."
"But what I didn't expect was your foolishness. For a woman who doesn't love you, for a doomed relationship, you chose to destroy everything. Look at you now, the headmaster of Slytherin, the Potions Professor at Hogwarts, seemingly honored, but do you really have any purpose left in life?"
"I don't think your ideals are any higher than mine. I just know that you destroyed my mental pillar, and it was the only one."
As Snape spoke, he lifted the bound Voldemort, who appeared completely incapacitated, from Harry's bed.
But Voldemort looked fearless, his face only showing coldness and mockery as he was pushed to the ground by Snape.
Lily, floating nearby, had heard the entire conversation. Her expression was complex as she looked at Snape, but she said nothing.
Soon, Professor Mcgonagall, having received word from the Fat Lady, hurried to Harry's dormitory.
Outside, a crowd of Gryffindor students had gathered, whispering and craning their necks to see inside. When Professor Mcgonagall entered, she immediately closed the door, almost hitting Ron, who was trying to slip in.
Seeing the bound Harry on the floor and the spectral form of Lily, Professor Mcgonagall looked shocked and stared at Snape, the only one holding a wand who could have done this.
"Professor Snape, what's going on? Why are you binding Potter, and this—"
"Dark Lord, he has taken over Potter's body."
His tone was calm, but anyone could tell that he was only pretending to be composed.
Snape did not introduce Lily, and Professor Mcgonagall did not press for more details, as the news that the current Harry was Voldemort was already enough to make her feel incredulous.
"I'm not doubting you, but this is too shocking. I mean, how are you certain that Harry is the Dark Lord?"
Snape did not elaborate. Instead, he rolled up the sleeve of his arm, revealing a prominent Dark Mark on his upper arm.
The skull with a snake piercing through it was glowing faintly.
No words were needed; the current state of the Dark Mark was proof enough.
Professor Mcgonagall’s body trembled involuntarily, and she instinctively took a step back, but in the next moment, she stepped forward again.
"What about Potter? What happened to Potter?"
Snape shook his head.
"I don't know, but it's best to notify Dumbledore and Sherlock immediately. They should know something."
"Actually, there's no need to ask them", Voldemort's voice was casual. "The way to get rid of me is simple. Killing Harry will kill me as well. So, will you do it, Severus?"
Professor Mcgonagall's lips trembled, and she remained speechless for a long time. Snape repeated his instruction.
"Go and notify Sherlock, and have them return immediately!"
Professor Mcgonagall did not linger any longer. As soon as Snape finished speaking, she turned and left.
The moment she opened the door, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, among others, nearly fell over. Seeing Professor Mcgonagall, they looked awkward and scratched their heads, ready to explain and subtly inquire about Harry's condition. However, Professor Mcgonagall did not even glance at them and slammed the door shut.
"All students, gather in the Great Hall under the supervision of the Prefects. Spend the night there! Ron, you go and notify the Prefects of the other three Houses!"
With that, she hurriedly left the Gryffindor common room, seemingly ignoring Hermione's calls to ask about Harry's condition.
The students looked at each other, all curious about what had happened behind the door.
There were many speculations, but no one dared to push the door open to check, as only Professor Mcgonagall had come out, and Snape was still inside.
Meanwhile, at Grimmauld Place 12, Sherlock, who had just learned from Dumbledore that Harry was one of the Horcruxes, suddenly felt a surge of magic. He stood up abruptly from his chair.
"Before Voldemort died, I used the state I was in to implant a magic power into his soul. Now I can sense it."
Dumbledore's usually calm gaze was now bright as he looked at Sherlock.
"Where is he?"
Sherlock took a deep breath and spoke slowly.
"He's at Hogwarts!"
