Chapter 416: Voldemort's Death
Chapter 416: Voldemort's Death
After Sherlock merged with the remnant soul in Nagini, the disturbance was almost noticed by everyone on the battlefield.
The fluctuation of magic power was too powerful, and Sherlock's control domain had expanded significantly, covering more than half the battlefield.
Voldemort felt his lungs nearly burst with anger and also became extremely cautious.
He could not determine how many of his Horcruxes the thief in front of him had already "consumed", but when it came to his life, Voldemort, who feared death so much, would never risk his only life.
As soon as he sensed that Sherlock had returned to, and even surpassed, his previous state, Voldemort turned and ran without hesitation!
However, this time, the range of Sherlock's Control Magic had expanded countless times.
The moment Voldemort began to flee, Sherlock extended his right hand.
His long fingers spread, and with a light grip in the air, Voldemort's body, which had transformed into black mist, suddenly felt an inexplicable force squeezing it!
Then, his magic was forcibly terminated!
The noseless, hairless form of Voldemort was forced to materialize from the black mist.
This scene unfolded in the center of the battlefield, witnessed by many.
Voldemort, like he had completely lost his ability to act, was entirely under Sherlock's control!
Voldemort's face was grim, unable to use any magic or control his body, which seemed to have been entirely stripped of his command, leaving him unable to act on his thoughts.
Seeing this situation, almost every Death Eater's face changed.
Everyone knew that the battles around them would not affect the final outcome; the future of the Wizarding World depended entirely on the duel between Sherlock and Voldemort in the center of the battlefield.
And it was clear that this duel had already reached its conclusion.
The Death Eaters who were not firmly loyal to Voldemort, those who had always been wavering, did not hesitate. They immediately stopped fighting the Aurors or Order of the Phoenix members in front of them and fled!
The remaining loyal Death Eaters, without any hesitation, stopped fighting their enemies and aimed their wands at Sherlock, casting spells to try to free their master from Sherlock's control.
But their efforts were in vain.
The spells didn't even reach within a meter of Sherlock before they were erased by a unique magic power, as if they had never been cast.
The fleeing Death Eaters also discovered in despair that the battlefield was surrounded by a ring of crimson flames that no spell could extinguish, making the ground an impassable no-go zone.
A few who still had broomsticks tried to break through from the sky, but the old man, known as the greatest white wizard of the twentieth century, was guarding the sky. Any wizard who rose from the ground on a broomstick became the target of his spells.
Clearly, this ring of containment was also his creation.
Having fully trusted Sherlock and handed Voldemort over to him, Dumbledore was not inactive in this war.
Under his watch, no one present could escape from this sealed area.
Voldemort was now desperate.
He had rarely, if ever, experienced a situation where he was cornered like this.
Even when Harry Potter turned the tables and killed him, it was technically his own Killing Curse that rebounded and killed him. Now, he was almost entirely captured by Sherlock, who had comprehensively overwhelmed him in every aspect of power.
However, it was precisely because of this capture that Voldemort still harbored a glimmer of hope.
He was acutely aware that if Sherlock had truly destroyed all of his Horcruxes, he would most likely not be left alive.
Voldemort had a clear understanding of himself.
Unlike his predecessor, Grindelwald, who was known for his charismatic leadership, his image in the Wizarding World was that of a powerful madman.
The safest course of action with such a person was to ensure their death.
But Sherlock had chosen not to take this direct approach, and Voldemort had made his judgment.
His Horcruxes were likely not all destroyed!
Even if he was unwilling to bet his life on it, the choice between certain death if captured and a chance at survival if he died now was clear to Voldemort.
His eyes were filled with hatred and resentment as he looked at Sherlock.
"This is not the end, Sherlock Forrest. Everything you do now will come at a great cost in the future! I won't let you defeat me so easily, especially when you are using my own power!"
Sherlock showed no intention of responding to Voldemort's threats.
He was intensifying his control over the Dark Lord's body, attempting to separate Voldemort's soul from his body on a magical level to achieve imprisonment.
However, unlike what he had anticipated, Voldemort's body was entirely natural, with no signs of any external soul attachment. Even with his ability to control all magic power and matter within his domain, Sherlock could not forcibly separate a complete soul from a complete body.
"Remember my words! I will not leave! No one can kill me! When I return, all of you will be held accountable!"
Voldemort shouted these final words, and then his body exploded!
Sherlock could clearly feel the omnipotent power slowly fading from Voldemort's body, but before choosing to end his own life, Voldemort had forcefully embedded a piece of his own magic power into his soul.
Blood and flesh rained down, soaking the ground.
The entire battlefield fell silent.
Not only did the loyal Death Eaters stand in stunned silence, witnessing their master's death, but the Aurors and Order of the Phoenix members also stared in disbelief at the pile of flesh on the ground.
Sherlock had landed back on the ground.
He stared at the blood and flesh not far from him, a sense of unreality rising within him.
Was it true that the most powerful Dark Lord in the entire story had just been killed by him?
His self-doubt was soon answered.
Around him, whether standing or lying on the ground, the Aurors and Order of the Phoenix members erupted in a deafening cheer that pierced the sky!
