Chapter 414: Leaving Xandar (First Update)
Chapter 414: Leaving Xandar (First Update)
Xandar Spaceport.
"This is Asgard's Realmship. Can it really fly? It looks far less impressive than my Milano."
Star-Lord looked at the golden Viking warship in front of him, his face full of doubt.
No thrusters, no energy devices, and apart from being larger and more conspicuous with its golden shine, it looked no different from the wooden boats that could only sail on the sea in his memory.
And it even had two rows of oars, which was hard to understand.
"Ouch, who attacked me!"
Just as Star-Lord finished speaking, he was slapped hard on the buttocks, causing him to fall flat on his face.
It turned out that the Realmship had raised its large oars and given Star-Lord a good whack from behind.
"The Realmship is sentient. You can think of it as having an AI system, so it's best not to say bad things about it!"
Jerry, seeing Star-Lord lying on the ground clutching his buttocks, gave a friendly warning, then stepped onto the ramp the Realmship had lowered.
Gamora shook her head as she passed Star-Lord and followed Jerry onto the Realmship.
She had somehow developed a bit of a liking for this guy in prison, which must have been due to some kind of "lower body magic spell."
"Quill, you're such a loser!"
Rocket Raccoon mocked Star-Lord and followed Gamora up the ramp.
"I didn't know it could hit people!"
Star-Lord, still clutching his buttocks, stood up. Seeing the oar about to rise again, he quickly climbed aboard.
"Lord, welcome back!"
As soon as Jerry stepped onto the deck, a respectful, rugged voice rang out from the Realmship.
Items endowed with wisdom and abilities by the Awakening Spell each had their own unique personality and characteristics. These could range from old men, young men, children, men, women, honest, cunning, or even devious personalities, all derived from the thoughts and memories of the one who cast the Awakening Spell, not created out of thin air.
In Jerry's case, the template for the Realmship's sentience was likely based on some of the Three Kingdoms warriors in his memory.
Thus, its voice was that of a rugged man, and its personality matched that of a warrior from his memories. It called Jerry "Lord" instead of "Master."
Jerry didn't bother to correct it.
Although he had initially hoped the Realmship would be a gentle young lady, a ship maiden, rather than a ship man!
"Asgard, set sail and leave this place. The specific destination, let her tell you!"
Jerry, seeing that Star-Lord had boarded the deck, pointed to Gamora behind him.
After receiving a massive deposit of 11.5 trillion units, Jerry transferred one trillion appraisal fees to the Karukaru Group and then brought Star-Lord and the others on Ant's private spacecraft to the spaceport.
It turned out that after escaping from the Kyln Prison, Star-Lord and the others had hidden in a small black market hub near Xandar.
To infiltrate Xandar and find Jerry to retrieve the Cosmic Orb, they had spent a bit of money to hire a black market smuggler to sneak them into Xandar.
Now, their plan was to return to that black market hub on Jerry's ship, pick up Groot and Drax, as well as Star-Lord's Milano, and head to the planet Gamora mentioned, where Thanos had led an army to slaughter half the population three years ago.
After Gamora reported the coordinates of the black market gathering place, the Realmship immediately rose and took off, flapping its two large ship paddles at a speed much faster than any ordinary spacecraft, leaving Xandar behind.
"Alright, come in and let's talk about how you'll be paid!"
Once the ship had left Xandar, Jerry waved to Star-Lord and the others, then walked toward the small house on the ship.
At the mention of "payment", Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon's eyes immediately lit up, and they quickly followed Jerry, dragging Gamora along with them.
As the wooden door to the small house was pushed open, a utopia filled with the sounds of birds and the scent of flowers appeared before the three of them.
"Oh my God!"
The three of them instantly widened their eyes, and Star-Lord even burst out in his native language.
He had just been about to complain about how low-key the small house on the ship looked, but the scene inside the house immediately stunned him.
On a lawn spanning several hundred thousand square meters, there were gardens, forests, a swimming pool, a large villa, and even a small lake. If he hadn't glanced back at the ship, he would have thought he had been transported to another world.
"No wonder he hasn't attacked Asgard!"
Gamora thought to herself as she gazed at the scene before her.
After Ebony Maw and Black Dwarf's failed attempt to retrieve the Cosmic Cube from Earth, which ended up in Asgard's hands, the usually domineering Thanos had hesitated to launch an attack on Asgard.
Now, Gamora understood that Asgard was indeed as powerful as the legends suggested.
Actually, she was mistaken. The original Realmship didn't have all these features; Jerry had added them himself. Thanos didn't dare attack Asgard not because Asgard was powerful, but because Odin was powerful.
Moreover, on Xandar, Jerry hadn't used much violence, so Star-Lord and the others didn't perceive him as particularly strong.
Or rather, the bit of magic he had shown was completely overshadowed by his wealth.
Even now, they still thought of Jerry as a super-rich person who needed their protection.
"How do you want the four billion transferred? Should I transfer it all at once to one of your accounts, and you can divide it among yourselves, or should I split it into three parts and transfer it to each of you separately?"
Sitting on a lounge chair by the pool in the villa, Jerry sipped on a Fizzfizz and raised his wristband.
Rocket Raccoon jumped up from the lounge chair, picked up a glass from the table, and replied with a sigh:
"Our accounts have been frozen, so you'll have to give us cash!"
"Cash, like paper money?"
Jerry's face showed surprise.
He had assumed that cash was no longer a concept in the universe, that everything was digital, but he didn't expect cash to still exist.
"Not paper money. Paper is too easy to produce and is inconvenient to use, and it's not universally accepted across different planets. In the universe, cash refers to this!"
Gamora took a black metal block, no larger than half a palm, from the pocket where she kept her retractable dagger and tossed it to Jerry.
"This cash is made using very special technology and comes in different denominations. When making a payment, you give it to the merchant to scan, and the corresponding amount is deducted.
When the amount inside is used up, its surface turns white."
"So, can I just transfer the four billion to this now?"
Jerry examined the black metal block in his hand. With his level of technology, he couldn't figure out much about it.
