Whenever he had the opportunity to mess with his opponent's psyche, he would never opt for a direct confrontation.
Trying to put himself in Kaiba's shoes, Marufuji thought that if he had been on the receiving end of that 'Cause and Effect Negation', sending all three of his Cyber Dragons to another dimension, his mindset would probably crumble. Even Kaiba himself should be feeling a surge of anger right now.
