Although Night City didn't die instantly, the gaping hole in his chest left him gasping for breath. King Kurde hesitated for less than a second before leaving Night City behind and charging towards Bulanga!
Night City wasn't a Frost Devil. In King Kurde's eyes, his injuries meant certain death.
And as for the fate of Yecheng, with such a minor matter, it didn't even cross King Kurde's mind. The so-called Dragon God had already been summoned, and fulfilling their own wishes was the top priority.
On the other side, Liliana and Tian Tian, each holding a Dragon Ball, had found the remaining five Dragon Balls hidden by Vegeta under the guidance of the Dragon Radar. Thus, they summoned the Dragon God Bulanga.

King Kurde realized that to grant wishes, the Namekian child was indispensable, and since the child was just a brat, he could easily make him comply with some coercion.
King Kurde killed the woman to set an example, intimidating and threatening the Namekian child before him.
