The electromagnetic weapons of the VWXYZ-Dragon Cannon roared to life, a blue lightning dragon bursting forth from its maw. The electromagnetic blast tore through the air, ripping apart everything in its path and leaving twisted light and shadow in its wake.
There was no deafening explosion or fiery spectacle, but for a moment, space seemed to warp, and the lone Wall Card appeared to be destroyed in an instant by the extreme heat and electromagnetic force, evaporating everything it covered, down to the tiniest speck of dust.
A fleeting image of Winged Chestnut Sphere appeared on the field, only to vanish like a phantom.
"Ah, it's Winged Chestnut Sphere," Judai couldn't help but exclaim.
His spirit companion floated out beside him, chirping softly.
"Chumley, it seems," it said, its tone conveying regret that its doppelganger hadn't been able to play a part.
"Winged Chestnut Sphere originally had the ability to negate any battle damage during the turn it was destroyed, whether by battle or card effect," Judai explained with a hint of sadness.
"But being removed from play like that left it powerless."
Winged Chestnut Sphere drooped its wings in dejection, letting out a soft "Chum."
"Kaiba Seto, you truly are the formidable duelist that rumors make you out to be," Ryou Marufuji remarked. "In an instant, you cleared both the front and back rows, even bypassing the robust defensive capabilities of Winged Chestnut Sphere."
He paused, furrowing his brow as he continued, "Compared to you, I still have a long way to go with my own aggressive style."
His gaze shifted to You Xuan, his eyes flickering with curiosity.
Facing Kaiba Seto, how would You Xuan fare in this duel?
"This is far from enough!" Kaiba snarled. "VWXYZ-Dragon Cannon, direct attack!"
At its master's command, the VWXYZ-Dragon Cannon unleashed its full firepower. All its weapons entered a state of maximum output, and dazzling beams of light slashed across the sky like falling stars, vaporizing everything in their path with intense heat.
But just as the cannon was about to unleash its devastating blast, a familiar yet unfamiliar, reliable figure appeared in front of You Xuan's field.

The golden spherical barrier of the Curry God Dragon steadily blocked the cannon fire of the VWXYZ-Dragon Cannon.
"By discarding 'Chestnut Baby' from my hand, I activate its effect!" You Xuan declared. "When a monster on your side of the field declares an attack, discard this card to change the attacking monster to Defense Mode."
The formidable VWXYZ-Dragon Cannon suddenly went silent, its cannon fire extinguished as it crouched down, its attack halted.

"Correct," Kaiba acknowledged. "In total, I discarded three Dragon-Type monsters.
"I'll set one card face-down, and that ends my turn.
And entering the End Phase, I draw three cards!"
He drew three more cards to replenish his hand.
"Alright, You Xuan! If you've grown into a Duelist worthy of this stage, then show me what you've got!"

I'll never understand how the CEO always has so much enthusiasm. And he's not that young anymore, yet he still spouts stuff like 'utter annihilation' and 'the fiery competitive spirit' without fear of social embarrassment.
