Chapter 411: Mila's Performance? How About Smashing Rocks with Her Chest?
Chapter 411: Mila's Performance? How About Smashing Rocks with Her Chest?
It was fortunate that the journalist's interview was scheduled for tomorrow and not today, leaving just enough time to tidy up.
Following the principle of 'whoever breaks it, fixes it' and 'whoever creates the mess, cleans it up', the Guild Master took the lead in the cleanup efforts.
Meanwhile, Rod stood at the counter, diligently writing and handling paperwork.
A few minutes later, he looked up at the Guild Master, who seemed to be having more fun the more he worked, and couldn't help but suspect that this was the Master's trick.
Later in the evening, Rod went to the store to change into his new attire, officially taking up his role as the manager.
Everyone preferred to call him the bartender, and he didn't mind playing along, casually holding a cocktail shaker.
He might not know much, but he knew not to mix white liquor with soda.
Half a cup of 300J alcohol, mixed with half a cup of 200J beverage, shaken together and sold for 10,000J, would surely make them scream.
That evening, Rod strolled around for half an hour in a crisp suit, holding a wine glass, but only Mila complimented him on his looks, leaving him both happy and disappointed.
With the combined efforts of a group of troublemakers, the guild was finally cleaned up.
However, on the day of the interview, the place was as lively as ever.
Some residents who lacked a sense of security seemed to have grown fond of the place, as they could shout and make a ruckus as long as it wasn't a matter of principle.
The worst that could happen was a beating.
But after being beaten, they could fight back anytime without worrying about being bullied with magic.
Thus, the already bustling tavern became even noisier than before the guild's reconstruction.
Of course, the Guild Master shared some responsibility for this, as he had called back everyone without a mission to boost the guild's appearance.
Natsu was no exception, as the reputation of the Fire Dragon was still resounding.
The commotion was indeed intense, as Natsu was currently standing on a table, performing a peculiar dance and occasionally spitting out small flames.
Bickslow jumped onto another table to challenge Natsu, while Elfman, Wilhelm, and Nabu cheered them on.
"Guild Master..." Rod wanted to offer some comfort, but he didn't know what to say.
He had witnessed the Guild Master arriving at the guild with great enthusiasm, even wearing his coat with the Ten Great Archmages' emblem on the back despite the scorching heat.
Yesterday, he had clearly emphasized the importance of tidiness, yet he was still greeted by a chaotic guild.
The old man fell into deep thought, and after a while, he sighed, "Never mind, this is Fairy Tail."
Mila laughed beside him, "It's more fun this way."
Makarov looked at her, "Is that why you don't discipline them?"
"Mmm, mmm, mmm..." Mila tried to charm her way out of the situation.
"Remember to perform later, and try to salvage the situation."
"How can I perform without any preparation?"
"I don't care, just perform," Makarov threw a tantrum like a child.
Mila thought for a moment and asked Rod, "What should I perform?"
Rod blurted out, "Smash rocks with your chest? Or split skulls with your bare hands?"
Makarov almost spat out blood. Would anyone normally ask their girlfriend to perform such feats? Rod thought it was normal because Mila could actually do it.
Mila, seeing the Guild Master's expression, said with a smile, "You lie down and be the stone cushion, and I'll smash them."
"Sure," Rod assured her, confident in his ability to withstand a few blows.
As the Guild Master was about to turn pale, Mila picked up her conscience, "Alright, suggest something you'd like to see."
"I don't want to show them what I want to see," Rod muttered, then suggested, "Why don't you sing a song? It's been a while since I heard you sing."
Mila nodded, "Okay, I'll ask Happy to help put together a band."
There were quite a few musicians in the guild, enough to form a couple of small bands.
"But there's supposed to be an interview today! Why is it still so chaotic?"
Finally, someone in the guild showed concern for the interview.
"Lucy, you seem to be a bit late today... Did you dress up?"
Lucy's hair was neatly styled, and she wore different clothes from usual, even putting on a necklace and wrist accessories.
If Mila had dressed up like this, Rod would have showered her with compliments, hugs, and kisses, but since it was Lucy, he politely inquired.
"Yes, I wanted to prepare well and announce my existence to the entire continent!" Lucy was full of enthusiasm, but soon became a bit disheartened, "It feels like I'm the only one who cares."
"Look on the bright side, no one else seems to care, so if you perform well, you'll easily stand out."
"Exactly!"
It was easy to cheer up the optimistic girl.
Rod answered Lucy's questions about her interview experiences, his gaze drifting after Mira's figure.
With all the busy work done yesterday, today was a bit more relaxed. If it weren't for the Guild Master asking him to wait here for the journalist, he would be spending his time in the library.
"You're full of energy today, Lucy."
Erza was also a little late today, not wearing her server uniform but instead donning a suit of armor.
"Erza, aren't you working as a server today?"
Lucy brought up the topic, and Erza's expression became slightly downcast. "My uniform was damaged yesterday, and even after mending it, it couldn't be fully restored, so I switched back to my armor."
Lucy quickly tried to comfort her, "Well... could you ask Miss Mira for a new one? I remember we have some spares."
"No, it's not the same."
Lucy racked her brains for a solution and had a sudden idea. "Oh! Speaking of which, Erza, this armor seems a little different from your previous one."
Erza's face lit up when she heard this. "Yes! This is a new design I commissioned from Heart Cross. I've been waiting for it for a long time. What do you think?"
"It's amazing!"
Lucy congratulated herself on her cleverness, and Rod gave her a thumbs up.
The fact that Lucy was able to come up with this showed that she had a good understanding of Erza, and she was genuinely concerned about her companion.
"Cool, cool—COOL~~~~"
A stranger suddenly shouted an odd slogan and slid to the counter on his knees.
His knees seemed to be made of some unknown material, allowing him to slide all the way from the guild entrance to the counter.
The man had bright yellow hair, styled into a spiky cone on top of his head, with sunglasses perched on his forehead. He wore a camera around his neck, and his face seemed to be filled with excitement.
"Is this the top journalist, Sosha?" Rod tried to recall, thinking he might have seen him last year but never exchanged greetings. The distinctive hairstyle made him hard to forget.
Jason snapped a few photos of Erza, "Fairy Queen! It's the real Erza! So cool—I can't handle it!"
"Hello," Erza greeted politely, "I'm sorry I wasn't fully prepared."
"No~~problem! I want the most natural shots!" Jason took another photo and then pulled out a small notebook, "If you don't mind, can I ask you a few questions?"
"Sure."
Lucy blinked her big eyes, trying to get some attention, "Hello, I'm Lucy, Erza's friend, and I just joined the guild this year—"
However, Jason's attention was entirely focused on Erza, and he didn't seem to notice anyone else talking to him, "How many sets of armor do you have?"
"Over 100 sets, but I'm not sure of the exact number myself."
"COOL!!! Which one is your favorite?"
"The bunny girl."
"Bunny, bunny, bunny... COOL! Can I ask..."
Lucy tried to interject but couldn't find an opening.
To make matters worse, as Jason asked questions, he led Erza to sit down in a corner.
Finally, when he finished questioning Erza, she turned around, and Lucy gave her a gentle smile.
"COOL! Aren't you the Fairy Tactician?" Jason snapped a photo, "Can I interview you?"
Lucy stood there with her mouth agape, watching as Jason completely ignored her. She rushed over to Rod.
Rod smiled and poured her a drink, "Sure, but remember to interview our new member later."
"Mr. Rod!" Lucy was deeply touched. Such a considerate person, no wonder he could win over Miss Mira.
"No problem!" Jason readily agreed, "Are the rumors about your relationship with Miss Mira Jane true?"
"Yes, we've been dating for almost five months now." He wouldn't dare deny it; his head would explode if he did.
"COOL! Then can I ask..."

At the hospital, my father will be undergoing surgery tomorrow morning. In the coming days, I'll try my best to maintain a regular update schedule, but I can only apologize in advance for any disruptions...
I can't afford to stop updating, but without medical insurance, I have to cover the entire surgery cost. If I lose my perfect attendance record, it'll hurt even more.
For those who are concerned, please take care and stay healthy.
