Chapter 41: Rescue
Chapter 41: Rescue
[Don't panic, Suisui, calm down!]
[Don't struggle; don't aggravate the kidnappers.]
[Let's stay calm and wait for rescue while thinking of other escape routes.]
[Although the Qing King will come to our rescue, we can't just sit idly by.]
Seeing her brother cry, Suisui panicked.
She wanted to comfort him, but her mouth was gagged tightly, preventing her from making a sound.
All she could do was struggle to move closer to Feng Xuanrui.
Sensing the movement beside him, Feng Xuanrui lifted his head to glance over.
Noticing that Suisui's wrists were chafed raw from her struggles to get to him, he widened his eyes and shook his head at her urgently.
He wanted to say, "Sister, don't move, it hurts!" But Suisui, worried about him, continued to wriggle in his direction.
Seeing this, Feng Xuanrui decided to imitate her movements.
Qing Shan Qing Shui, startled by their actions, soon caught on and joined them, shuffling towards the center as well.
Before the four of them could huddle together, the door of the woodshed was flung open, and a coarse female voice rang out, "If this merchandise isn't good, I'm not buying!"
As she spoke, a stout woman with thick arms and a wide waist strode into the room.
The first person she laid eyes on was Feng Xuanrui...
His lips were red, his teeth white, and his fair skin exuded an innate nobility.
Her eyes raked over him like he was a commodity, and she clicked her tongue in appreciation, "This age is just right, and there are customers on our side who have a preference for this. His figure is passable, a little on the plump side, but a couple of days of starvation will make him look much better."
When her gaze landed on Qing Shan Qing Shui, her expression turned disdainful, "These two are of mediocre quality and can barely be considered as extras."
Finally, her eyes fell on the diminutive Suisui, and she frowned, "And what's with this little monk?"
Suisui was dressed in a loose, unisex cyan outfit, and with her shaven head and small stature, it was easy to mistake her for a young boy.
The woman thought she had a frail frame.
However, with some nurturing, she might turn out presentable.
But the woman intended to haggle, so she wouldn't reveal her true thoughts.
If she hadn't been so pleased with Feng Xuanrui, she wouldn't have said so much.
Satisfied with the merchandise, the woman turned around and began negotiating the price with the older woman who had greeted Suisui and the others earlier.
The two women spoke bluntly and crudely, treating the four captives as mere commodities.
Feng Xuanrui, enraged, struggled and kicked his legs, wishing he could move freely and teach them a lesson.
The stout woman noticed his writhing and smiled as she teased him, "Oh, quite the flexible waist you have there. There's no need to rush; there will be plenty of time for you to tire yourself out later."
Feng Xuanrui didn't fully understand the implications of her words.
However, he sensed the malice behind them.
This only fueled his struggles further!
Perhaps anger unlocked hidden potential.
As Feng Xuanrui thrashed about, he managed to land a kick on the woman's shin.
The sudden blow caught her off guard, and she instinctively hopped back a couple of steps, hissing in pain, "Ouch!"
That single kick ignited the woman's fury.
She spun around and kicked Feng Xuanrui twice, "You good-for-nothing, how dare you!"
Two kicks weren't enough to vent her anger, so she lifted her foot to deliver another blow.
She figured that they would need to be disciplined eventually, so she might as well start now.
Seeing her brother being kicked, Suisui began to struggle with all her might.
As the woman prepared to kick Feng Xuanrui again, Suisui suddenly lunged, propelling herself directly onto Feng Xuanrui's legs.
Suisui was ready to take on the blows for her brother.
She wasn't afraid of getting hit; she felt his pain!
Having been kicked twice, Feng Xuanrui's anger burned within him.
Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do at that moment.
Just as the woman was about to strike again, Suisui pounced forward, intending to intercept the blow for him. Feng Xuanrui was so furious that he nearly swallowed the rag in his mouth!
The young boy's eyes blazed with fury and murderous intent. He exerted a great deal of strength, but only managed to twitch slightly.
It was torturous for Feng Xuanrui to watch helplessly as his sister took the hits meant for him.
What was even more painful was that he couldn't save her!
This made his tears flow even more profusely.
Usually quite adept at martial arts, Qing Shan Qing Shui was powerless in this situation.
This filled them with both anger and frustration.
However, before the woman could deliver another kick, something else came first...
A flying dagger from Qing Wang.
A short dagger, emanating a chilling aura, whistled through the air, carrying with it an intent to kill.
The woman only felt something flash past, and then her leg stung intensely, causing her to lose her balance and sit down on the spot, letting out a startled cry.
Realizing something was amiss, the older woman turned to flee.
However, Qing Wang leaped forward in a few strides and kicked her, sending her flying.
Bang!
The woman flew at a low altitude for a while before crashing into a wall.
Then she went limp and silent.
Zhan Gao had swiftly gone over and severed the tendons in both her legs.
The searing pain caused the older woman, who had been pretending to be unconscious, to cry out in agony!
When the woman saw this, she finally understood what was happening: Had they been discovered?
Or had they provoked someone they couldn't afford to offend?
At that moment, the leg that she had intended to kick with was slashed by Qing Wang, leaving a large chunk of flesh missing.
The leg was now a bloody mess, and the intense pain made even the most basic movements difficult.
Coming to this realization, the woman fell to her knees and began begging for mercy: "Spare me, brave warrior, spare me!"
Once she started pleading, the older woman also joined in, begging for her life.
Zhan Gao efficiently bound the two women.
Qing Wang's followers also tied up the other people in the small courtyard.
The older woman and her group had likely been running this scam for a while, and the woman appeared to be a madam from a brothel.
This matter might involve the interests of some special groups.
However, among those groups, who could be more influential and powerful than Qing Wang and Qi Wang?
While the others were dealing with the aftermath, Qing Wang crouched down and began to untie the ropes binding the children.
Once freed, Feng Xuanrui first cried and then threw the rag on the ground angrily. He hugged Qing Wang's leg and wailed, "Uncle Qing Wang, they deceived me, they deceived me!!!"
Only after being tied up, kicked, and witnessing the entire ordeal did Feng Xuanrui slowly realize that they had been deceived.
And the one who had deceived them was even a cute-looking little girl.
At that moment, the 'sister' filter in his eyes had shattered significantly.
However, Suisui's desperate lunge to protect him just then rescued the 'sister' filter in his eyes.
At that moment, various emotions of distress and anguish converged in Feng Xuanrui, causing the young boy to break down completely.
He cried uncontrollably, and Suisui gently held his hand, trying to offer him comfort and strength.
Feeling his sister's warmth, Feng Xuanrui cried even more fiercely!
