Chapter 41: Advancement Task, Talent Ascension!
Chapter 41: Advancement Task, Talent Ascension!
[Your level has been upgraded to LV10]
[You have gained 1 free attribute point]
[You can choose one of the following three skills]
[1. Basic Resistance (reduces 5% of received magical debuffs and damage)]
[2. Intermediate Wisdom (allows learning of level 4 magic)]
[3. Basic Financial Management (increases daily income by 125 gold coins)]
After Qin Muye's level increased, he chose Intermediate Wisdom. The other two skills wouldn't be of much use to him, and if Intermediate Wisdom wasn't available, he would have chosen Basic Resistance.
Additionally, his demonic blood also leveled up, reaching level 9.
Despite Qin Muye having 22,000 experience points, the demonic blood and Yeyu each only had 13,000 normal experience points.
The demonic blood upgraded Basic Defense to Intermediate Defense.
[Intermediate Defense: reduces 10% of received physical attack damage]
The increase from 5% to 10% was a doubling, which was quite good.
Yeyu didn't skip three levels this time, only increasing by 2 levels to reach level 5.
He then learned two new skills: Basic Wisdom and Basic Intelligence.
Qin Muye already had Basic Wisdom, but the appearance of Basic Intelligence piqued his interest. He wondered why it didn't appear for him, perhaps his luck was just bad.
[Basic Intelligence: increases hero's maximum magic points by 10%]
At first glance, it seemed like a very powerful skill, directly increasing magic points by one-tenth. Qin Muye wanted it too, even if it didn't increase his maximum magic points, the name alone suggested it was a good skill.
Of course, that wasn't the main issue. The main issue was that he noticed his experience points were locked, preventing him from leveling up, which made him frown.
If he couldn't level up, wouldn't he be useless, destined to just drift through life?
Fortunately, The Lord's Era quickly provided an explanation.
[You have reached level 10, and now an advancement task is issued to you]
[Task Requirements: A victory of glorious level or higher (0/1), kill 1 hero unit (0/1), upgrade your territory to level 2 (1/2)]
[Task Reward: Talent Ascension ×1]
"Great, this is really difficult."
Especially the requirement to kill 1 hero unit. From the description, it seemed he would have to do it himself. If not for capturing this spider zombie hero, he wouldn't have a clue how to complete this task.
As for the other two requirements, they weren't too hard to achieve. With Yeyu, his victories were always overwhelming. Unfortunately, past victories didn't count, so he would need new ones. Otherwise, he would have completed the first requirement long ago.
"What the heck is Talent Ascension? Will it make my talents better?" Qin Muye glanced at the reward, finding it somewhat meaningless.
He quickly dismissed it from his mind and upgraded his territory to level 2.
[Your territory has been upgraded to level 2]
With just these few words, the entire territory began to shake and expand outward.
In essence, his territory's rules had expanded, making it larger.
Soon, the movement stopped, and his territory's area doubled, which was a very good piece of news.
The farmland that had previously been outside his territory was once again included.
Qin Muye wasn't an expert, so he hadn't seriously designed the buildings in his territory. He had more or less planned them based on intuition and neatness, so there were definitely some shortcomings. He would have to wait for an expert to address these issues in the future.
"Does the increase in rank not provide much benefit to the territory?" Qin Muye wondered, feeling a bit puzzled.
For him, whether the territory’s area doubled or not didn’t make much of a difference. After all, buildings could still be constructed outside the territory.
"Perhaps it represents sovereignty?"
He believed that The Lord's Era wouldn’t do something as pointless as this. There must be a reason for the territory’s area, even if he didn’t know what it was.
So, Qin Muye decided not to dwell on it, as he couldn’t guess the reason anyway.
"2nd rank for the demonic blood. Notify all the sprites to go to the Magic Essence Sprite Factory to convert into 2nd rank units." Qin Muye informed Demonic Blood and Yeyu, leaving the task to them. He couldn’t possibly handle every small matter himself.
Then, he glanced at the requirements for upgrading to a 3rd rank territory, which were quite stringent.
[ Territory: Mage Tower ]
[ Rank: 2 ]
[ Advancement: 100,000 gold coins, 10,000 units of ore, 10,000 units of wood, 1,000 units of gemstones, 1,000 units of crystal, 1,000 units of sulfur, 1,000 units of mercury ]
[ Buildings: Magic Pool (1/1), Magic Guild (0/1), Library (0/1) ]
[ Requirement: Lord reaches LV20 ]
Not only did the resource requirements end with a zero, but there were also building requirements. The Magic Pool was manageable, but where could he find the other two?
Oh, he found them in the Jifen Shop. The Magic Guild required 50,000 points for a building blueprint, and the Library’s blueprint was slightly cheaper at 30,000 points.
The restoration of the Magic Pool was also stuck on the elemental core, but it didn’t specify that it had to be a good one; a dried-up one would do.
Qin Muye had no idea where to find these things, so he quickly stopped worrying about these troublesome matters and decided to check out the technological enhancements from the Sprite Experiment Manual. However, he didn’t have high hopes for how much it could enhance.
[ Sprite Attack Enhancement: Sprite attack +1 ]
[ Sprite Defense Enhancement: Sprite defense +1 ]
[ Sprite Health Enhancement: Sprite health +10 ]
"..."
These were the three technological enhancements from the "Chuji" Basic Sprite Experiment Manual, which could be described as almost negligible.
[ Sprite Magic · Luck: Learn 2nd rank Nature Magic Luck Spell ]
[ Sprite Spirit · Vigor: Movement speed +1 ]
[ Sprite Constitution · Magic: Magic points +10 ]
[ Luck Spell: +1 luck for 10 minutes, consumes 10 magic points ]
Apart from the Luck Spell, the other enhancements were quite ordinary, with minimal effects.
However, the Luck Spell was indeed powerful, adding 1 point to luck. This would be even more beneficial for the original Garden Sprites, though the increase was small. He wondered if it could be inherited by heroes in the future.
So, he immediately started researching the Sprite Magic · Luck technology.
[ You have begun researching Sprite Magic · Luck. Cost: 10,000 gold coins. Time: 48 hours ]
The basic version cost 1,000 gold coins, while this advanced version naturally cost 10,000 gold coins. However, Qin Muye wasn’t short on money at the moment.
Well, he didn’t have a lot of money, but he had enough for small expenses.
At least he could afford to max out the sprite enhancements, though the time required was a bit frustrating. He had thought that spending money would immediately grant the enhancements.
