Chapter 405: My Pokemon, the Rainbow Brave?
Chapter 405: My Pokemon, the Rainbow Brave?
Nical and Nimo stayed at the ranch until evening. Nical had intended to leave after discussing the future development plans for the Lotad phones with Naoki, but Nimo was having too much fun.
The entire afternoon, Nimo had engaged in intense Pokemon battles with the ranch Pokemon, only stopping when they were all exhausted.
"Battling is so exciting!" Nimo exclaimed enthusiastically.
Naoki: "..."
He glanced at Nimo's Pokemon, feeling that she had gained quite a bit of experience from the day's battles.
Seeing his daughter's exuberant behavior, Nical sighed helplessly, "Nimo's personality is just like that of a boy."
However, Naoki understood her enthusiasm, "Nimo loves Pokemon battles."
Nical nodded with a smile, "Yes, Nimo once told me that she wants to become a powerful Pokemon Trainer when she grows up!"
"She'll definitely achieve it," Naoki said softly, thinking of the Nimo in the game.
"Well," Nical exhaled, "as long as Nimo is happy, that's what matters."
As a father, he would unconditionally support whatever path his daughter chose in life.
At this point, Nical checked the time and bid farewell to Naoki, "It's getting late, thank you so much for your hospitality, Naoki. We won't disturb you further. After we get back, I'll make sure to have someone deliver the phone you ordered."
"Thank you," Naoki nodded.
Nical smiled and then called out to Nimo, who was tending to her Pokemon, "Nimo, let's go!"
Hearing that it was time to leave, Nimo's face fell in disappointment.
However, she knew they had stayed a long time and it was time to head home.
Reluctantly, Nimo recalled her Pokemon into their Poke Balls and waved goodbye to Naoki with determination.
"I'll definitely visit again, Mr. Naoki!"
"You're always welcome," Naoki smiled and nodded.
"Goodbye then!"
Nimo followed her father back to their car, and before the car drove off, she waved vigorously at Naoki through the window.
"Bubmud, let's battle Pokemon again next time!"
Bubmud, who had been battling with Nimo all afternoon, responded with a tired, "Ba-mo."
Naoki patted Bubmud's head and waved as he watched the car drive away from the ranch.
As night fell, not long after Nimo and her father left, Zack arrived at the ranch in his large truck. Naoki helped him load the vegetables and milk onto the vehicle.
While settling the payment, Zack wiped the sweat from his face with a towel and grinned, "The Bounty Festival is in two days. Don't forget to bring your Pokemon to join the festivities!"
The Bounty Festival, originally known as the Soaking Town Harvest Festival, had been renamed by the townspeople to express their gratitude to Rayquaza for saving the mountain. The festival was now held to honor Rayquaza and give thanks for the bounty it bestowed upon the land.
In previous years, the Harvest Festival had been held at the Harmony Square. However, with the establishment of the Bounty Shrine, Mayor Thomas had decided to move the venue to the mountain.
Although the Bounty Festival was still two days away, the people of Soaking Town were already busy preparing and decorating the festival grounds.
Naoki was aware of this, as he could see the path to the Bounty Shrine from the ranch.
In the past two nights, the path leading to the shrine had been illuminated by lights, creating a magical atmosphere.
"Yes, we'll definitely participate," Naoki smiled.
Zack's face lit up with anticipation, "It's going to be so lively! I heard a lot of tourists are coming to Soaking Town specifically for the festival! And apparently, there will be a TV station recording the event!"
"Definitely," Naoki said softly, "I think Rayquaza would be very pleased to see such a wonderful sight."
"I can't wait!"
Just thinking about the scene filled Zack with excitement.
It felt amazing to see the town he grew up in prosper and flourish.
Zack left with renewed vigor, and Naoki began packing Poke Puffs and Energy Orbs into boxes, which he handed to the Dragonites working at the ranch.
After a hard day's work, the Dragonites happily left the ranch, their mission accomplished.
With the Dragonites gone, the ranch suddenly felt much emptier.
Reflecting on his conversation with Nical, Naoki took out the Lotad phone from his pocket and started exploring its functions. He opened the camera app and pointed it at his riding goat, lying on the grass, before snapping a picture.
After testing the camera function, Naoki opened the messaging and calling features.
Then, he discovered something quite remarkable.
The Rotom phone didn't need a SIM card; it seemed to have a built-in communication system, and the owner could view their phone number in the system settings.
Apparently, as long as you knew someone's number, you could communicate with them.
The next feature was the map, which Naoki opened, and the phone automatically located his current position - the outskirts of Zhenqin Town.
The map supported zooming in and out, almost identical to the game, except that it couldn't display information about the Pokemon species and their habitats in a specific location.
The next feature was the Rotom Pokedex, which Naoki had already tried before and knew contained information about the Pokemon in the Padia region.
The last feature was the app store and website login interface.
As the name suggested, the app store was for downloading software, but since the phone wasn't officially released yet, only a few insignificant apps were available for download.
The website login interface was for logging into web pages, equipped with a specialized search engine, making it convenient for trainers to query various information.
What was even more remarkable was that the Rotom phone didn't need to be charged!
To be precise, only phones with a built-in Rotom didn't need to be charged.
This was because the Rotom living inside the phone would continuously provide power, as long as the Rotom didn't malfunction, the phone would always have power.
"Wow, this is indeed amazing Rotom technology!" Naoki exclaimed.
However, upon careful consideration, since Rotom was an Electric-type Pokemon, generating electricity was a trivial matter for it.
Meanwhile, in the Chengdu region, Yuandu City.
Passing through the Golden Maple Leaf Avenue, a majestic, ancient tower appeared ahead.
Under each eave of the tower hung wind chimes, which, when the wind blew, would produce a melodious sound that echoed through the Golden Maple Leaf forest.
Inside the tower, several monks wearing long robes were sweeping away dust.
Unnoticed, Tauros and Mew quietly peeked out from a corner.
"Is this it?" (Is this the Bell Tower?)
Mew looked around and then nodded confidently: "Miu!" (This should be it!)
Seeing that they had found the right place, Tauros's eyes lit up, and from behind, it pulled out a feather radiating a rainbow glow, full of mystery.
A few days ago, they had encountered this feather while traveling.
Tauros had fully utilized its picking-up trait and immediately noticed the beautiful feather lying on the grass.
At the time, it wanted to pick up the feather and ask Zapdos to give it to Naoki as a gift.
However, that night, a mysterious Pokemon with orange-red fur appeared before them.
It was a majestic Pokemon with iron rings on its strong limbs, a red six-pointed star structure on its cheeks, a golden, three-leaf clover-like crest on its forehead, and a flowing, white mane on its back.
The Pokemon saw them and initially showed a surprised expression.
But soon, it introduced itself to the three members of the Great Adventurer Squad.
It said its name was Yan Emperor, the emissary of the Phoenix King.
It also said that the feather was the Phoenix King's feather and would guide them to the Bell Tower in Yuandu City, where the feather could be put to use.
Thus, after inquiring along the way, the Great Adventurer Squad arrived at this ancient, tranquil town.
Tauros looked up at the top of the tower: "One... " (That Pokemon seemed to say, go to the top of the tower...)
Mew blinked its eyes and then used Instant Transmission to take Tauros to the outside, where they reunited with Zapdos.
After hearing the two companions' discovery, Zapdos calmly nodded and had them sit on its back.
Once Mew and Tauros were settled, Zapdos flapped its wings and flew towards the top of the tower.
The warm, orange sunlight shone on Zapdos's body, casting a moving shadow on the Golden Maple Leaf Avenue.
A monk sweeping leaves on the avenue noticed the shadow, looked up, and saw an orange figure flying towards the Bell Tower.
The monk's face showed a mix of surprise and delight: "Phoenix King! The Phoenix King has returned to the Bell Tower!"
The monks were overjoyed, some even bursting into tears, as the Phoenix King had not returned for a long time.
However, when they climbed to the top of the Bell Tower, they did not find the Phoenix King, but instead, discovered three unfamiliar Pokemon.
The monk who had first found the Phoenix King stared at Zapdos, his mouth agape in shock, his face filled with grief. "It's not the Phoenix King..."
Zapdos: "?"
Mew and Teddiursa also turned their heads in surprise.
Just then, an elderly woman with white hair among the group noticed the feather in Teddiursa's hand.
She exclaimed, "That's the Phoenix King's feather!"
"Huh?" Teddiursa looked down at the feather in his hand.
Judging by the humans' expressions, they seemed to want to take his feather away.
Teddiursa immediately became alert. Since the feather was useless here, he still intended to give it to Naoki.
Therefore, Teddiursa and Mew were just about to leave on Zapdos's back.
But suddenly, the old woman called out to them.
"Wait! I don't mean to take away the feather by force!"
At her words, the three Pokemon looked at her.
The old woman continued, "That's the Phoenix King's Rainbow Feather. Since the Phoenix King has entrusted you with its feather, it means it has chosen you."
"Those who are guided by the Rainbow Feather and meet the Phoenix King will become Rainbow Braves." The old woman murmured, reciting the information recorded in ancient texts.
"Miu?"
"Huh?"
Teddiursa and Mew were quickly intrigued by the term "Rainbow Braves."
Not seeing the Phoenix King, the old woman looked disappointed.
So, the Phoenix King no longer bestows the title of Rainbow Braves upon humans but has instead chosen these three Pokemon.
It seems the Phoenix King still holds a grudge about what happened hundreds of years ago...
Back then, the Phoenix King and the Loch King lived in the Bell Tower and the Clock Tower.
Until a war broke out among humans, and the conflict spread to the Clock Tower, resulting in its destruction and the loss of lives of Pokemon nearby.
Disappointed in humans, the Phoenix King and the Loch King left Yuandu City and never returned.
Although the Phoenix King has not forgiven humans, they continued to worship it.
Now that the Phoenix King has given its Rainbow Feather to these three Pokemon, she intends to follow its guidance and help them pass the test to become Rainbow Braves.
"Go to Celestial Green Mountain!" The old woman instructed. "Since the Phoenix King doesn't want to return to the Bell Tower, it must be residing somewhere on Celestial Green Mountain."
"Follow the guidance of the Rainbow Feather and head to Celestial Green Mountain! When you pass the Phoenix King's test, you will become Rainbow Braves, and the Phoenix King will grant your wishes."
The old woman narrated slowly, following the records in the ancient texts.
The next evening, the fifty phones Naoki had pre-ordered were delivered by a salaried worker riding a Dodrio taxi.
It was obvious that he was an employee of the Rotom Tech Company, on a business trip to the ranch.
Once Naoki signed for the phones, the salaried worker's task was complete.
He didn't stay any longer and immediately left on the Dodrio taxi.
Naoki carried the box of Rotom phones back to the living room, opened the packaging, and took out the phones one by one, testing and adjusting their settings.
Only after confirming that all the phones were functioning properly did he stop.
"Next, I'll wait for the official release of the phones and download all the necessary apps!" Naoki thought.
He didn't plan to give the phones to Re Crown and the Dragonites yet, as the functions were still incomplete, and there wasn't much to do with them at the moment.
After putting the phones away, Naoki began preparing for the Bounty Festival the next day.
With the festival, autumn would come to an end.
Unknowingly, the year was drawing to a close, and compared to last year, the ranch had gained many new companions.
This year's celebration will surely be lively! Naoki thought.
He wondered if Teddiursa, Mew, and Zapdos would return for the new year.
It had been almost two months since he last heard from them.
Naoki had no idea what the Great Adventurer Squad was up to or where they had gone.
