Chapter 403: Let Me Measure Up
Chapter 403: Let Me Measure Up
Among the officers of the Cataclysm Pirates, the three women who first followed Sage were those who emulated his powers.
Lily emulated his ability to see through the secret points of all things and his use of the Tyrant Aura.
Marika emulated his overwhelming Dominance power and his control over his body.
As for Renitiah, although she hadn't formally learned from Sage, her ability development had gradually improved through her interactions with him.
Sage's ability development was multifaceted, and before him, no one dared to claim they could develop their powers to the extent of altering their original form and increasing their weight.
Not even the former power users could achieve this.
But Sage had done it; his ability to transform his powers and increase his endurance limit was something Renitiah had always witnessed, and subconsciously, she followed his example.
In the future, Renitiah would learn from Sage's expansion of Perception Color and power development.
Unlike Sugar, who was under Doof's command and restricted by her abilities despite her advanced age, Renitiah was a typical child, and at her age, her powers were already quite formidable. In Sage's eyes, she was stronger than Sugar, much stronger.
When it came to learning, these three women didn't imitate Sage's techniques, and some of the powers based on the fusion of Northern Dipper Divine Fist were beyond their reach. However, imitating Sage's use of these powers sometimes yielded surprising results.
Like now, Marika, with her precise control of Dominance down to every hair, and her sudden burst of power, crushed Kai Hai.
Whether Kai Hai considered himself an Admiral or a Seven Seas Admiral, he was crushed all the same.
On the vast sea, sometimes confidence alone is useless; one's capacity must match their ambition.
As Kai Hai died, Sage paused briefly, and the interference with his Perception Color disappeared.
"Old man Kai Hai is dead just like that? I've always said his methods aren't very useful!"
Hwang Mu swung his arm, which had transformed into a giant tree, and as it rose from the ground, its massive size cast a shadow on the ground below.
"Only in a real fight can you survive. Don't blame me, old man. It's not that I didn't try to save you; this is just how the world works!"
"The strong oppress the weak, whether it's individuals or nations. It's because of this power that there are differences, and some suffer while others find happiness!"
Boom!!
"Galaxy Impact!"
A pillar of Dominance rose as Sage punched upward, blasting a hole through the palm of the tree-arm pressing down and causing the surrounding trees to crumble.
After delivering the punch, Sage swiftly followed up with a kick, unleashing a black crescent-shaped slash that struck the tree-man's body, cutting him in half at the waist. The upper half of the massive tree-man fell, quickly transforming into a rooted tree, while the lower half re-formed into Hwang Mu's figure.
"What? You disagree? My intelligence shows that this is what you've been doing."
Hwang Mu replied, "Your food, your weapons, your ships—you sell them all to those who need them. And those in need use these things to make those weaker than them pay more in money and resources. There's no difference; what sets you apart from them?"
"Who cares about that?"
Sage retracted his leg, "If the World Government doesn't bother with it, why should I, a pirate, care?"
Differences?
That's only natural; there are differences everywhere, and it's unavoidable and unchangeable.
Sage didn't intend to change these differences; he was just a pirate.
"I rule my territory because I want them to live better, to pay more taxes. Beyond that, it's none of my concern."
Sage exhaled a white breath, taking two steps forward, "Instead of focusing on this, you should be thinking about how you can survive my attacks."
"Don't underestimate me, my Admiral title wasn't earned in vain!" Hwang Mu raised his tree-like arms again and forcefully thrust them into the ground, "Forest Arrival!"
Rumble...
The ground was torn apart by countless tree roots, rising upwards, forming a massive forest in front of Sage once more. These trees seemed to have a mind of their own, regardless of their size, they surged forward like a tidal wave.
"Without the Nine-Tails, it feels a bit off, doesn't it?" Sage chuckled coldly, raising his hand adorned with a golden armguard, "Oh well, this will do. Lightning Steel."
Lightning appeared on the golden armguard, gradually shaping it into a golden scimitar.
As Sage clenched his fist, the tiny palm-sized golden scimitar abruptly transformed into a massive scimitar.
The golden blade whipped up a fierce wind, infused with thunderous power.
Whoosh! With a simple wave of his hand, a powerful gust of wind and lightning formed a canopy that rivaled the forest, slicing through the leading trees. The lightning then struck the ground, igniting a flame that created a burning wall of fire between the two.
However, this wall of fire was quickly overwhelmed by the onslaught of trees, as the roots twisted and tightened, extinguishing the flames.
In all things, quantity matters. Just as paper cannot contain fire, a massive amount of paper can easily smother a small flame with a little force.
And the one applying this force was Hwang Mu.
While he might be countered by other Nature-type abilities, this flame derived from lightning was beyond his control.
An Admiral's power is not to be underestimated.
Sage swung his scimitar again, whipping up wind blades and lightning, cutting through the advancing forest and creating several openings. However, against the relentless tide of trees, it seemed like a futile effort.
"Burning Giant Tree!"
Moreover, the burning trees no longer succumbed to suppression; instead, they came to life, transforming into enormous fiery branches that charged towards Sage.
From above, half of the island was covered in a sea of trees, with the leading edge glowing fiery red, an intimidating sight.
Powerful Nature-type abilities always create grand spectacles.
"Hmph, this is not enough!"
Sage brandished his golden scimitar, creating afterimages and unleashing wave after wave of crescent-shaped aura slashes, meticulously cutting through the attacking fiery branches.
"Hundred Demon Assault Slash!"
A great swordsman? Sage was not skilled in swordplay.
But projecting his aura was effortless, and with his near-infinite aura, each strike was devastating.
In no time, the surging forest was chaotically sliced apart, leaving a field of broken wood on the ground.
However, the continuously rising trees behind indicated that this move was not very effective.
"With this level of resilience, you've proven your Admiral prowess. Let's see how far you can go."
Sage discarded his golden scimitar, and a white cocoon enveloped his body, spinning and tightening around him before shattering into countless white fabric strips.
His white hair danced wildly, fiery white like flames.
A domineering aura scar appeared on his cheeks, and his shirt disintegrated, replaced by a black and red 'skin' formed from his aura, covering his neck and upper body, leaving only his chest exposed.
White flame clouds encircled his shoulders and arms, resembling an awakening of the Beast-type.
Boom!
The clear sky was once again shrouded by dark clouds, and a muffled thunderclap rumbled.
"Are you on par with Green Chicken and Yellow Monkey, or did the World Draft fail to recruit such powerful individuals?"
Sage grinned menacingly, "Let me find out!"
