Chapter 401: The Dragon Speaks!
Chapter 401: The Dragon Speaks!
The Mountain Dragon turned its head, gazing at the accumulated magic power above, its eyes filled with apprehension.
Perhaps it had heard Rod's words, as it now held all three of them in its palm.
Mira glanced at Rod, and seeing that he didn't speak, she promptly released her Reception Magic, causing the three to squeeze together.
It was rare that being squeezed against Erza didn't feel uncomfortable.
She glanced at Rod again.
Rod didn't have time to say anything as the sound of wind immediately filled his ears. The Mountain Dragon's flight speed was evidently much faster than Mira's.
As the first ray of light emerged from the magic array in the sky, the three were already diving down with the Mountain Dragon, catching up with their companions who had evacuated earlier.
As the people on the ship were stunned, Rod shouted to those below, "Gray, make a basket! Natsu, get on the ship!"
Without hesitation, Gray used his Ice-Make Magic to connect the two small boats with ice crystals, and ice pillars grew on both sides, curving upwards and joining together to form a handle.
Natsu, reluctantly, had no choice but to jump onto the ship.
The Mountain Dragon immediately understood and grabbed the handle of the ice basket with its hind claws, carrying them forward.
The dragon's claws looked uncomfortably hard, making one wonder if Gray's basket would hold.
In the blink of an eye, Archmage Spirit Energy was unleashed, and a dazzling white pillar of light shot straight down, precisely striking the small island where the Paradise Tower stood.
For a moment, the night sky, illuminating it with the dazzling white light, and the small island was completely engulfed. A thunderous explosion sounded, and the sea roared with a massive wave.
The three in the dragon's palm could only see the dragon's belly and body, while those in the basket witnessed the catastrophic power of the Archmage Spirit Energy as it descended.
When the white light vanished, the seawater rolled back, seemingly trying to fill the void. From the air, all they could see was a large amount of water vapor rising, and the small island had completely disappeared.
"This is... Archmage Spirit Energy!"
The group was left speechless, awe-struck by the power controlled by the Council of Judges.
It's a wonder their guild had survived this long, given their history of causing trouble. Should they be grateful for the Council's mercy?
Natsu, who should have been the most afraid, was now covering his mouth and lying on the edge of the small boat, whimpering, "Waa..."
Lucy patted his back, "You're getting seasick from this?"
"Waa waa waa..." Natsu couldn't speak.
If they hadn't used the basket but were held directly or riding on the dragon, perhaps he wouldn't have felt sick.
Gray spoke without sympathy, "Useless. Go puke somewhere else."
"Juvia will protect Gray-sama."
Happy paid no attention to Natsu and stared at Gray and Juvia, "They're an item."
Juvia realized she liked this little cat.
Simon looked up, concerned for Erza, held by the dragon, wondering if she was injured.
"Get ready, we're going to speed up," Rod called out to his companions below and pointed in a direction.
The Mountain Dragon flapped its wings, and its flight speed could be described as lightning-fast.
"Ahh..." Lucy suddenly fell onto Natsu, letting out a scream.
The two almost fell together.
Gray grabbed her collar, and Simon reached out to catch Natsu's scarf.
Juvia wanted to say that she was causing Gray trouble, but as she opened her mouth into the wind, she almost choked.
The group experienced a rapid flight. They had traveled half the night by boat, but the return journey took only a few minutes.
The power of the giant dragon was enviable.
The Mountain Dragon placed the basket on the beach and released the three from its palm.
Mira supported Rod, and Lucy, with good judgment, went to support Erza.
Everyone carefully examined the enormous creature before them, each with a million questions on their minds.
Loki observed Rod's expression, and no one dared to speak.
The Mountain Dragon broke the silence, its voice gentle yet firm: "Not bad. In a moment, I'll introduce you to a friend."
"It spoke!" Wendy couldn't help but blurt out.
The Mountain Dragon glanced at her, causing her to cover her mouth in surprise.
Introduce a friend? Was it another dragon?
Rod looked at the dragon, "So, you can speak. Why didn't you say anything when I summoned you so many times?"
The Mountain Dragon didn't hesitate, "Because the time was too short. I felt that a single sentence wouldn't be enough, and I might be sent back due to insufficient magic power."
"..." Wendy felt mocked, and Rod glared, "Who's talking about time being short? It's not that bad, is it?!"
The Mountain Dragon turned away from him and looked towards Natsu, who was staggering towards them.
"Just in time... Come and fight me!"
"What are you saying?! Fight a dragon? Is it a friend?" Wendy was shocked.
"Blabber... I'm a Dragon Slayer, of course I'll fight a dragon!"
The Mountain Dragon lowered its body, extending its front claws towards Natsu and lightly flicked a claw.
"Waaah..." Natsu flew backwards and fell into the sea.
"Natsu..." Happy rushed over.
The Mountain Dragon silently laughed, its form gradually fading away.
Mira poked Rod's face curiously, "Why the long face? Are you jealous of Natsu?"
"It said the time was short. You be the judge, today I received and summoned... Am I not already quite persistent?"
"Yes, you always are..." Mira felt something was amiss.
Erza sensed her surroundings, "Let me go, Mira."
Wendy slowly released her arm, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah."
Mira watched her as she stood steadily and moved her body, asking, "Can you move?"
"Yeah, I think the spell's time limit is up."
Temporary binding spells usually had a time limit, and the duration depended on the amount of magic power set by the caster.
Such temporary binding spells wouldn't last long.
"Simon, why did you..." Erza was still unclear about the situation.
Simon explained, looking at her sincerely, "I'm glad to see you again, Erza."
"Simon..." Erza hugged him, feeling a sense of unconditional trust that was precious compared to Millianna, Wally, and Hughes' suspicions, as well as Jellal's deception.
When they parted, Simon, who was about the same height as Elfman, blushed.
Erza didn't notice his expression but was concerned about those left on the ship, "By the way, how are Hughes and the others?"
Simon replied, "Hughes was knocked out by someone, and Millianna and Wally... They were defeated in battle and have no major injuries."
Erza blushed, realizing Hughes had been knocked out by her, and he still hadn't woken up. Had she hit him too hard? Gray turned away, the block of ice was his doing, and the Cat Woman was knocked out by Natsu, who had Happy distract her and then punched her.
At that moment, Simon coughed, covering his chest.
Erza asked worriedly, "Are you injured too?"
Rod looked up at the sky, this was his doing.
Apologies for the late chapter.
This morning, I visited my beloved dentist, but he didn't know good from bad and drilled my teeth with an electric drill! After drilling, I had to happily pay him! I should thank him.
Sigh, thirty years of river and lake, don't bully...
