Chapter 401: The Dragon Confinement Realm
Chapter 401: The Dragon Confinement Realm
The strength of an Epic Rank 0-Star is indeed quite formidable.
At least, it's far superior to Li Wu's current abilities.
If Li Wu were to fight Dudu now, he estimates that he wouldn't stand a chance against her.
After all, he has witnessed Dudu's prowess firsthand.
With a casual wave of her hand, she effortlessly shattered two Divine Art-level defensive skills.
The only hope Li Wu has of defeating Dudu is his Slaughter All Lives skill, but its destructive power is too overwhelming, and he can't control it, so he wouldn't dare use it against Dudu.
This puts Li Wu at a significant disadvantage if he were to face Dudu.
This thought troubles Li Wu.
He has spent months pushing his external cheat to the extreme, encountering all sorts of life-threatening situations and lucky encounters, only to find that he still falls short compared to Dudu, who can summon her mother.
This realization makes Li Wu feel a bit dejected, causing him to doubt the effectiveness of his cheat.
The only solace Li Wu finds is that Dudu is his.
Even if he can't defeat Dudu, he can still rely on her. Although he suspects that in her current cold state, she might slap him if he dares to get too close, the fact remains that she is his support.
Moreover, 'Cold Dudu,' despite not physically offering her support, has prepared a surprise for Li Wu.
"Here, this is for you!"
"What is it?"
As Li Wu took the token from Dudu, he casually asked about it, but he had already noticed its attributes.
...
Item: Dragon Confinement Realm Token
Rank: Epic
Description: Well, there's not much to say; it's just a dungeon token.
...
Li Wu's eyes narrowed slightly as he examined the token's attributes, and he had a hunch about what was going on.
Cold Dudu's subsequent explanation confirmed his suspicions.
"The baby dragon is inside. Its strength should have reached the Epic level by now. Go and retrieve it."
So, it was the baby dragon! Li Wu was both surprised and delighted. He had thought that before the celebration, he wouldn't have a chance to advance to the Epic level, but now, a new opportunity had presented itself.
Amidst his excitement, Li Wu also felt a bit skeptical: "However, the celebration seems to be in a couple of days. Will I make it in time?"
Dudu slightly turned her head: "The Dragon Confinement Realm isn't far from Fucheng. Two days should be enough. If necessary, I can even postpone the celebration a bit."
"I'll head there right away and return as soon as possible.
By the way, how did you..."
"I can't stay away for too long. I must return first. We can talk more when you come back."
Li Wu had intended to inquire about the Dragon Confinement Realm, but Dudu glanced at the time, interrupting his question. She then stood up, ready to leave.
This made Li Wu feel a bit downcast.
Their relationship seemed to have cooled down.
This young lady now even interrupts his words.
Is it that when men become wealthy, they turn bad, and when women gain strength, they do the same?
Li Wu's heart felt a bit sour. Just as he was turning to leave, Dudu suddenly changed her expression, transforming from Cold Dudu to Silly Dudu. She turned back with her signature silly smile and bit down on Li Wu's face.
The bite left Li Wu's mind blank for a moment.
By the time he snapped out of it, Dudu had already run off.
Watching Dudu disappear from sight, Li Wu covered his bitten face and shook his head: "You're truly unpredictable."
Li Wu then took action, holding the Dragon Confinement Realm token and leaving Fucheng for the sea area Dudu had mentioned.
At this moment, Li Wu's mind was filled with thoughts of finding the baby dragon, advancing to the Epic level, and returning as soon as possible.
Aside from these thoughts, his mind was blank.
He didn't delve into many details.
He didn't even consider the possibility that Dudu might have given him the Dragon Confinement Realm token to keep him occupied.
This wasn't due to a lack of caution but because the person was Dudu..."
In truth, Li Wu had always been cautious, almost to the point of having a persecution complex.
This was most evident when he was forced to fake his death and leave Zone 1.
During that time, he viewed everyone with suspicion, believing they might harm him.
Even when facing Tsukimaki Seiko, he remained vigilant, despite her sacrificing herself for him.
The only person who could make Li Wu lower his guard was Dudu.
Dudu was the person Li Wu trusted the most in this world.
His trust in her was absolute.
Even when Dudu developed a second personality, something incredibly bizarre, Li Wu's trust remained unwavering.
Needless to say, when Dudu presented the Dragon Confinement Realm token, he had no doubts.
Action: Jiangnan, Fucheng.
In a certain villa, several figures gathered together.
One of them spoke up first, "What's the urgent matter that brought us here?"
"Take a look at this," the convener said, handing over a document. The group frowned and took the item, examining it closely.
As they read, their expressions changed.
One person even tore up the document, "Nonsense! This is slander! It's a setup by the Education Bureau to stop the University Alliance. They're resorting to all sorts of despicable tactics."
"Regardless, I refuse to believe this," another person said, ignoring the others' anger.
Everyone's attention was focused on the document, their eyes flashing with various emotions, and their faces contorted with different expressions.
Finally, a second person raised their head.
"This situation is beyond our control. We can't act on impulse anymore."
"What do you mean by that?" The person who had torn up the document glared at the speaker, ready to pounce on them. At that moment, someone beside them stood up and restrained the agitated person.
"Old Zhang, calm down. Now is not the time for anger. We need to think about our next steps and how to respond to this."
"How do you propose we respond to this nonsense? Let's just burn this mess and be done with it."
A fourth person spoke up, "Burn it? That's easy for you to say, but can we really do that? Old Zhang, this isn't a problem we can run away from. We must face it head-on!"
"Face it? How?" Old Zhang's eyebrows furrowed.
The convener spoke up, "We'll let her explain herself during the celebration!"
At these words, Old Zhang's expression changed.
"No, absolutely not. I won't allow you to disrupt the celebration with this."
Another person tried to reason with him, "Old Zhang, at this point, do we have any other choice? This is the best solution for now. It's better for us to take action than let others exploit the situation."
"Shut up! I can see that you've been bought by the Education Bureau. You're betraying Jiangnan University, and I won't let you do this. I'm going to call Dudu..."
Before Old Zhang could finish his sentence, someone beside him held an object against his waist, and a flash of electricity revealed his face.
This Old Zhang was none other than Zhang Wentao, the principal of Jiangnan University.
The others in the room, except for Zhang Wentao, were also high-ranking officials of Jiangnan University.
As the electric light faded, Zhang Wentao collapsed, and the faint light did not reveal the faces of the others.
In the Jiangnan Governor's Mansion...
Jiang Yuesheng, the governor, received an unexpected visitor.
In her hands, she held the same document that Zhang Wentao had seen before he collapsed.
Reading the document, Jiang Yuesheng's eyebrows knitted together.
"Is this not a despicable tactic? To use such underhanded means."
"Governor Jiang, why do you say that?
Do you think we're framing her?
Do you need evidence? We have it, but we don't need to provide it to you. Additionally..."
The person across from Jiang Yuesheng paused, a smirk playing on their lips. "There's something you must understand. I'm not here to seek your approval. I'm acting under the orders of the Elders."
"This operation has their support. If you want to keep your position as governor, it's best to act rationally."
As Jiang Yuesheng watched, the person rose and left without acknowledging her.
Jiang Yuesheng clenched her fists, her white forehead veins bulging, but ultimately, she had no choice but to let go.
(End)
After a moment of hesitation, Jiang Yuesheng took out her phone and dialed a number.
"They..." she began, but was interrupted.
"I know, you don't have to worry. Just keep an eye on them," the voice on the other end said.
The call ended abruptly, leaving Jiang with a deep sense of helplessness as she heard the dial tone.
Frustration built up inside her, and she struggled to catch her breath.
What should she do? How could she handle this situation? Feeling lost, Jiang's thoughts turned to Lu Wu, who was supposed to be dead. Instinctively, she dialed his number.
As she made the call, she suddenly remembered, Lu Wu was indeed deceased.
"Yes, he's gone," she whispered to herself.
"Besides, even if he were alive, he wouldn't be able to do anything in this situation, right?"
As these thoughts raced through her mind, Jiang was about to hang up the call.
Suddenly, the phone on the other end was answered.
A faint sound of little skull teeth clacking came from the receiver.
Finally, someone had called the little skull. Who was it, and what did they want?
---
In the waters off the coast of Fucheng, Lu Wu, a professional Cultivator, had obtained the Dragon Confinement Realm Token and rushed to the designated location, reaching it in just over two hours.
"This should be the place, right?" Lu Wu scanned his surroundings, double-checking to ensure everything was in order.
He took out the token and examined it.
"How do I use this thing? Do I just charge it?" Lu Wu muttered, his guard and wits momentarily slipping as he struggled to understand the token's function.
Fortunately, Lu Wu's expertise as a Cultivator allowed him to quickly figure out how to operate the token.
"Got it," he said with a nod.
As he spoke, the token in his hand emitted a brilliant light.
A dragon's roar filled with resentment and hatred echoed, sending chills down Lu Wu's spine. Suddenly, a black dragon gate appeared out of thin air.
"It's open!" Lu Wu exclaimed, his face lighting up with excitement.
But the one most thrilled by this development was not Lu Wu.
The baby dragon, imprisoned deep within the Dragon Confinement Realm, was the one experiencing the greatest joy.
As the black dragon gate opened, the baby dragon, who had been trapped for months and was on the verge of complete despair, felt a surge of hope. It strained its throat, emitting a joyous roar from the depths of the realm.
The sound traveled from the heart of the realm to the black dragon gate.
"Well, aren't you full of life?" Lu Wu recognized the voice of his baby dragon and smiled, preparing to step through the gate to rescue the little creature.
However, just as Lu Wu was about to enter, his soul, bound to the little skull through their contract, trembled.
A surge of information passed through the contract, catching Lu Wu off guard.
This unexpected transmission of information left Lu Wu stunned. He had not anticipated being pulled into the realm with just one step.
As he took that step, Lu Wu immediately felt a powerful force pulling him in, dragging half of his body into the realm.
This was not part of his plan, but he had intended to enter anyway.
At that moment, Lu Wu received a message from the little skull, causing his expression to change. Instinctively, he reached out and grabbed the edge of the dragon gate, preventing himself from fully entering the realm.
With a burst of strength, Lu Wu pulled himself out of the realm.
The baby dragon, sensing Lu Wu's presence and then sudden departure, felt abandoned. Its heart broke, and it let out a sorrowful dragon's roar, tears streaming down its face.
Just as the baby dragon's despair reached its peak, a blood-stained arm reached into the realm.
"Dudu needs me, so I can't enter, but I won't give up on you. Here, take this. I hope it helps you escape. I need you too," Lu Wu said, opening his hand to reveal a clump of golden blood.
It was the essence of the Epic Dragon Heart that Lu Wu had consumed, the most refined part he had not yet fully refined.

Is there no one left? If there aren't any characters in the next chapter, I might just let loose!
