Chapter 397: Phoenix Marco
Chapter 397: Phoenix Marco
Not even a moment was spared to mourn the sudden splitting of Rakyo, and the cannon fire from Renitia soon had over half of the captains lying on the ground.
As the smoke cleared, a massive crater was revealed, and within it lay several captains of the affiliate pirate crew, their bodies charred black, each assuming a pose reminiscent of Yamucha.
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
The 9th Fleet Captain, Brenheim, shouted in disbelief, "Rakyo... It's just not possible!"
These fleet captains were not weak by any means; each possessed great confidence and was willing to challenge any formidable opponent on the high seas. They were all battle-hardened veterans.
Yet, they couldn't even withstand Wibbur's single strike, and Rakyo was cleaved in two!
"Wibbur!!"
Brenheim's eyes turned red with rage, and his long sword was enveloped in Armament Color as he charged towards Wibbur, who maintained his slashing motion.
"Power Surge!"
Renitia swiftly turned the cannon's muzzle, and as she twisted the hammer, a circle of electrical sparks surged into Wibbur's body, causing his running motion to stiffen momentarily.
"Wibbur, finish him!"
After landing a successful strike, Renitia immediately shouted, and Wibbur, like an obedient robot, spun around and leaped into the air, his long sword, empowered by an intense Armament Color, swiftly slashing downward.
Even a momentary stiffness was enough to prevent Brenheim from dodging, and in that instant, he couldn't even block with his weapon. Seeing the descending long sword, he could only concentrate all his Dominance on his waist and ribs.
Boom!!
The Dominance surrounding the long sword violently collided with Brenheim's waist and ribs. In this close-range Dominance attack, his defensive Dominance was instantly breached, and the destructive force within shattered his internal body, causing blood to spill from the corner of his mouth.
Dominance, as a manifestation of will, does not shatter, but if it is overwhelmed, it is simply overwhelmed. Even with Dominance, it can still be breached.
Once breached—
Bang!!
The long sword was swung sideways with immense force, sending Brenheim's body flying like a cannonball into the side of a massive tree, smashing into two giant trees and creating a deep indentation in a third, which was completely embedded.
Brenheim's eyes rolled back, and his mouth hung open unconsciously as blood continued to flow from the battered half of his body.
He couldn't withstand even a single strike!
"Full Concentration! Full Concentration!"
Wibbur tightly gripped the long handle, panting heavily.
"Hahaha! I told you, my ability is unstoppable! My little brother here was also taught by Sage!"
Renitia stood on Wibbur's shoulder, laughing triumphantly.
The fleet captains were indeed formidable warriors on the high seas, but their Dominance was not enough to withstand her ability. Even a momentary stiffness, combined with Wibbur's absolute obedience, was more than sufficient.
She alone couldn't take on so many opponents, and neither could Wibbur by himself, no matter how reckless or how exceptional his Armament Color was. It was impossible to instantly defeat an alert opponent.
After all, they were both renowned warriors on the high seas.
But when they worked together, it was a different story, especially with Wibbur's enhanced abilities.
Wibbur, as Sage's man of pure heart, was terrifying at times due to his absolute obedience and his ability to clear his mind of all thoughts.
This terrifying aspect had not been utilized effectively before, as that Bakin fellow didn't know how to make Wibbur stronger.
Wibbur's previous fighting style relied solely on his robust physique, his strength comparable to Whitebeard's, and his formidable Armament Color Dominance.
The mastery of Haki is something that cannot be taught, only advised, as every individual's willpower is unique. Wibbur's Armament Haki has reached the pinnacle of being able to unleash one or two bolts of lightning, so there's no need for further instruction.
However, when it comes to martial arts mastery, no one understands it better than Sage.
Previously, Wibbur, who relied on brute force, appeared to Sage as nothing more than a powerful gorilla. But after some adjustments and a change in his force exertion techniques, Wibbur learned to concentrate his strength at a single point and then unleash it in an instant.
And so, he became...
A powerful gorilla capable of explosive bursts.
It would be a waste not to utilize that strength.
Whitebeard's power not only lies in his ability and Haki but also in his formidable physique and strength, which are indispensable.
Others might take longer to learn, but Wibbur can, as this guy is too pure. His simplicity leads him to obey any command as long as he trusts the source.
This mindset is not just strict but robotic, as he will execute Sage's orders unconditionally.
With Baggin gone, Wibbur now follows Sage's commands, and secondly, he acknowledges Renitiah as his big sister.
Without hesitation, he carries out orders, utilizing the technique of concentrating his strength, combined with his powerful Armament Haki, to deliver devastatingly high-damage attacks.
If these fleet captains and so-called captains stood still and let Wibbur strike, none of them could withstand a single blow.
Their Armament Haki couldn't withstand Wibbur's, and their strength was even less of a match.
Rakyo was killed in this manner. When the iron ball was struck back, his body couldn't react fully to the dynamo's power, managing only to hastily raise his chains. But at such close range, how could he possibly block Wibbur's attack?
His Haki couldn't withstand it, and his strength fared no better.
More numbers?
There wasn't a decisive difference, and Renitiah was confident she could take them all down!
Just as Renitiah felt triumphant, a few streaks of lightning-like radiance flashed through a nearby forest of trees, startling her.
Sizzle!
The radiance sliced through numerous trees smoothly, and even those trees didn't fall completely. A thunderous chill shot upwards, dispersing a cluster of green flames.
Amidst the rising radiance, a graceful figure appeared.
"Falcon Dive!"
Lily stepped on air, creating a smoke ring, and her white lightning bolt continued its upward thrust before swiftly descending, creating an even larger radiance accompanied by wind pressure, forming a slashing attack reminiscent of an eagle's hunting claws.
Sizzle!
More trees were torn apart, and a green flame surged forward, sweeping along a bird's claw that kicked towards Lily.
Thud!
Lily's downward-slashing sword shifted diagonally upwards, striking the bird's claw enveloped in green flames. The clash of Haki caused her to retreat swiftly, and she stepped on air again, flashing with lightning as she landed on a tree trunk.
She waved her sword and focused her gaze on the swirling green flame in the air.
On that bird's claw, the green flame spun continuously, revealing a bird enveloped in green flames, which then swiftly contracted, transforming its upper body into a human form.
A human body, bird's claws, and green flame wings—this hybrid creature flew in the air.
"It's best not to let you pass, though it may be unsporting. Sage is too strong."
The pineapple-headed bird with green flames chuckled lightly.
The Phoenix, Marco!
