Chapter 397: Breaking Through Reality
Chapter 397: Breaking Through Reality
At this moment, Yu Sun's bracelet had turned completely black, forcing her to retreat outside.
She gazed into the arena, her heart pounding with shock.
Chen Chuan remained within a certain range in front of Meng Huang, showing no signs of retreating.
Numerous massive limbs chased after him, flailing and striking, but he dodged each attack with split-second precision. The entire underground space reverberated with continuous rumbling echoes.
The limbs were incredibly resilient, swinging with immense force. Each strike created cracks and craters on the ground or walls. Even a Tier Three Combatant like Chen Chuan, if hit by such an attack, would likely suffer severe injuries.
Most importantly, Yu Sun noticed that the jade ring and accessories on Chen Chuan's body might not hold out much longer, causing her to worry. If they failed, it would be difficult to stop this creature from advancing further.
"The Master does have backup plans, but..."
As she was thinking this, Yu Sun suddenly sensed a surging biofield expanding outward from the front. It seemed like something was brewing there, and she looked up in surprise, "This is..."
In the center of the arena, Chen Chuan stopped dodging and stood firm. Wisps of white mist rose from his body, as if he were in a state of boiling.
He stared at the massive limb swinging down from above. This time, instead of dodging, he clenched his fist, shifted his energy, and then unleashed a powerful punch!
A thunderous roar echoed as his fist connected with the limb, creating ripples like waves on its surface. The limb then lost its strength and fell limply to the ground.
Another limb approached, and he slapped it sideways, smashing it directly onto the ground, causing the ground to tremble.
The limb was larger than a human, yet Chen Chuan's light palm strike smashed it to the ground. The contrast was astonishing.
Yu Sun witnessed this scene, her heart stirred with emotion. As a Tier Three Combatant herself, she immediately understood Chen Chuan's technique and rhythm from his stance and movements.
This was a masterful application of energy manipulation!
Although the limbs packed a powerful punch, they didn't utilize energy manipulation like a combatant. By striking before the limb could fully unleash its force, Chen Chuan disrupted its energy flow, achieving this effect.
Even with this knowledge, Yu Sun knew she couldn't replicate his feat. It wasn't just about technique; it was about possessing overwhelming strength.
Perhaps with her secret explosive power, she could manage it once or twice, but she couldn't match Chen Chuan's effortless mastery.
She stared at Chen Chuan's back, sensing the immense power within his body. It was no wonder the Processing Bureau had sent him here. Suddenly, she felt that with the current situation, it might be possible to stop Meng Huang.
Yu Sun made a swift decision. She took a few steps back, retrieved a crimson pill from her pocket, and swallowed it. Kneeling down, she focused, and the color of the vine-like patterns on her body gradually deepened. Her eyes took on a deep purple hue.
She prepared to summon and release all the divine essence and essence blood within her for the upcoming battle.
In just a breath or two, Chen Chuan had shattered the energy of over a dozen attacking limbs, causing them to fall to the ground. Meanwhile, the first limb he had smashed was just beginning to twitch again.
Without giving it a chance to recover, Chen Chuan swung his Snow Lady Saber, which had been poised for a strike. A semi-circular blade light swept across several limbs, and with a swift turn, he slashed again, cutting through the air and severing another limb. After a few more flashes, the blade light converged.
In an instant, all the limbs on the ground were cut into multiple sections.
Chen Chuan felt the Snow Lady Saber in his hand trembling slightly, and the energy within it seemed to intensify.
He lifted his head, tightened his grip on the hilt, and slashed through the lingering black smoke of the severed limb. He advanced towards Meng Huang's main body, which was attached to the door.
As he moved forward, a shadow on the ground silently shifted, reaching his back. It suddenly rose, transforming into a limb, and coiled towards him. However, it was met with multiple blade lights, instantly slicing it into pieces that fell to the ground.
Chen Chuan continued forward, his feet never stopping. Soon, he reached a spot not far from Meng Huang's massive main body. The latter opened an eye-like slit at the back of its head, observing Chen Chuan for a moment. Then, the smoke surrounding its body quickly condensed.
This allowed Chen Chuan to see its entire form clearly. It stood nearly seven meters tall, with two additional arms sprouting from its shoulders and waist, while its body remained humanoid. At that moment, it resembled a giant spider clinging to the door.
But as Chen Chuan approached, it detached itself and turned, landing on the ground. Its body continued to transform rapidly, developing multiple eyes and a thick chitinous layer on its surface. Hidden within the chitin were numerous eyes, staring at Chen Chuan, occasionally blinking. The entire scene was eerily bizarre.
Chen Chuan looked up at the towering body, standing firmly with unwavering stability. The swaying tentacles around him remained outside the reach of his blade.
Meng Huang, with dozens of eyes all over his body, suddenly bent down, raising both arms high above his shoulders and spreading his hands wide. With a swift motion, he clapped towards Chen Chuan's location.
Chen Chuan leaped backward, and the two hands clapped together in front of him, creating a loud bang that sent a powerful gust of wind, causing his hair and clothes to flutter backward.
A shadow loomed overhead, and Chen Chuan retreated further, but Meng Huang's arms suddenly slammed down, and his massive fists created two craters in the ground.
As Chen Chuan dodged, Meng Huang's legs propelled him forward, and his enormous figure loomed over Chen Chuan. The ground shook with each step he took.
Chen Chuan quickly sidestepped and, in the same motion, dragged his blade across the chitin layer on Meng Huang's arm, slicing open a wound from which white smoke billowed.
Meng Huang's massive body, supported by his waist and abdomen, quickly spun to face Chen Chuan. All his eyes fixed on Chen Chuan, revealing a malevolent gaze.
Chen Chuan glanced at Meng Huang, noticing that his second self's fading had deepened, almost like evaporation. It seemed that the gaze from those eyes was not without purpose.
He turned his attention back to Meng Huang, observing that despite his gigantic appearance, his movements and habits were still rooted in human instincts.
The entity attached to Meng Huang was ultimately human, and so it had to think and move from a human perspective. Perhaps Meng Huang's consciousness still held dominance.
This was a necessary compromise; if he were to completely surrender control to the entity, he might lose the ability to think rationally, and his actions would lack logic.
Together, they possessed immense power.
But having power did not mean knowing how to use it.
As Chen Chuan's thoughts turned, Meng Huang charged towards him. A massive fist descended from above, almost enveloping Chen Chuan in its shadow.
Chen Chuan watched the fist hurtling towards him and planted his feet firmly on the ground. With a single hand, he blocked the incoming fist, creating a loud bang but successfully halting its momentum.
To his surprise, he held his ground against Meng Huang's attack!
Chen Chuan stared at Meng Huang, his eyes calm despite the white mist swirling around the tip of his outstretched fist. Combat was a battle of wits and skill, and even with Meng Huang's massive size, he could only utilize a fraction of his strength.
Chen Chuan's gaze shifted, noticing that Meng Huang's other arm was reaching for him. With a slight withdrawal of force, Chen Chuan redirected his momentum and pushed Meng Huang's arm away.
Meng Huang lost his balance, and his massive body stumbled to the side. Several arms on one side of his body struggled to support him, while the other side continued to attack, swinging towards Chen Chuan.
Chen Chuan twisted, using the force of Meng Huang's push to move outwards and swiftly repositioned himself to the side of Meng Huang's exposed torso.
With Meng Huang's side completely exposed, Chen Chuan took a step back, halting his momentum. Then, gripping his blade tightly, he lunged forward and stabbed directly into Meng Huang's throat with his narrow blade.
However, this attack did not seem to inflict fatal damage. Meng Huang's arm on his waist and abdomen immediately swung towards Chen Chuan. Reacting swiftly, Chen Chuan withdrew his blade and stepped back, simultaneously raising both hands to sweep upwards, followed by a powerful downward slash. With a crisp sound, he severed half of Meng Huang's thick arm.
Before Meng Huang could counterattack, Chen Chuan quickly retreated, evading Meng Huang's heavy blows as he flipped over to pursue him.
At this moment, Chen Chuan's armband and accessories turned completely black and shattered, falling to the ground with a crisp sound, alerting him to the danger. The numerous tentacles surrounding him immediately coiled around, attempting to entangle him.
Unfazed, Chen Chuan swung his blade to the side, clearing a path, and kept his gaze fixed on the massive figure ahead. The giant was now rapidly rising.
As it reached halfway and was still unsteady, a figure suddenly leaped from the side. The speed was astonishing, and the angle of approach was extremely tricky. Even the eyes on Meng Huang's side had noticed, but the figure's position made it impossible to react in time.
The figure extended a slender palm and pressed it against Meng Huang's supporting leg, infusing a soft force that caused the leg to soften, and Meng Huang's body wobbled.
Seizing the opportunity, Chen Chuan lunged forward, covering over ten meters in a single leap. His shoulder slammed into Meng Huang's shoulder, forcing him to stumble backward.
Upon landing, Chen Chuan's toes tapped the ground, and he leaped high into the air, both hands gripping his blade. With a powerful downward slash, the blade's light descended directly onto Meng Huang's head, splitting it in two!
Meng Huang's massive body staggered for a few steps before collapsing backward, his back slamming into the ground. Fine sand-like substances leaked from the crack in his head, and black smoke rose. But after a moment, a blinding light burst forth from the wound.
