Chapter 390: Immortal God Remains
Chapter 390: Immortal God Remains
Primordial Ancestor and numerous Sages arrived, their expressions calm, showing no great surprise. When the Ancient Hall first appeared in the world, there had been intense battles and fierce competition.
At the end of the passage, many of the broken cracks were the result of their past struggles.
God King gazed at the empty spot on the stairs where a bronze divine throne should have been. He had once yielded it to Primordial Ancestor during their competition.
But even now, the other party had yet to become an Immortal Deity.
"Hmph."
God King snorted, glanced at Primordial Ancestor, and strode forward.
Outside the Ancient Hall, the areas that Sages could explore had already been thoroughly searched, leaving no treasures behind.
Li Hao followed them through the passage, delving deep into the Ancient Hall.
This Ancient Hall was a vast, self-contained secret realm, resembling the imperial palace of a divine dynasty.
The expansive viewing platform was lined with several ancient statues, each depicting a towering, strikingly handsome youth.
His gaze seemed to look towards the front of the Ancient Hall, his eyes reflecting galaxies, making the sculpture seem almost lifelike.
Li Hao narrowed his eyes slightly. The sculpture was surrounded by Dao resonance, and he sensed that touching it might trigger some unexpected situation.
Moreover, the sculpture was of extremely high quality, at least Eighth Rank, with a trace of Dao resonance sealed within. Even capturing just a fraction of it made one feel hesitant to look directly.
"This is an ancient Immortal Deity."
A Sage gazed up at the statue, his eyes filled with admiration.
Although Immortal Deities are now extinct, the various relics they left behind have revealed a glimpse of their mystique, making people reluctant to leave.
"Don't get too close. If the sculpture senses the Great Dao, you won't have a good time."
An experienced Three Calamities Sage warned some of the newcomers.
Li Hao noticed that two of the statues had their heads broken off, their Dao resonance dissipated, likely due to past explorations.
"This is the Immortal Reverence Platform, and the one ahead is the Heaven Worship Platform. We have already explored them."
Primordial Ancestor whispered to Li Hao, who was following behind.
"From records in other relics and certain ancient noble families' documents, it is known that the ancestors of these noble families once had contact with Immortal Deities and were invited here as guests."
"The Immortal Reverence Platform is where the master of this Ancient Hall received the worship of Immortal Deities. This master was not only an Immortal Deity but also held a high status among Immortal Deities."
"That over there is the Heaven Worship Platform, used to worship the Heavenly Dao."
Primordial Ancestor pointed.
At the end of the passage leading to the Immortal Reverence Platform was a vast, mountain-like high platform, adorned with tattered and faded sacrificial banners.
There was still a lot of blood, but no other debris, suggesting it had been thoroughly plundered.
Li Hao glanced at it silently, recalling what Old Feng had told him.
"That is the Path Sealing Platform, the true core of the Ancient Hall. It requires the Sixth Extreme Realm to open. Besides the Immortal Deity path, there should be many treasures inside."
Primordial Ancestor led the way, smiling at Li Hao. "This time, we rely on you to enter. When we get inside, you can choose any treasure you like."
God King sneered but said nothing.
Li Hao nodded slightly. No one knew what awaited inside, and if there were truly top-tier treasures, no one would let him pick first. However, the other party's flattering words did win some favor.
Before long, the group arrived in front of the Path Sealing Platform.
The Ancient Hall was vast, filled with numerous mechanisms and Restrictions. However, the outer areas had already been explored, allowing for a smooth passage.
As everyone gradually arrived at the Path Sealing Platform, Li Hao's expression grew solemn. They stood before a gatehouse, enveloped in a dense aura of Dao Resonance, with a subtle Power that seemed to slice through the void.
Forcing their way through would undoubtedly trigger something.
"This is a True Martial Eight Extremes Array!"
Primordial Ancestor raised his hand, and a strand of Power touched the center of the ancient gatehouse. It rippled like water in the air, revealing a hidden Restriction.
"Besides the Sixth Extreme Realm Power, we all possess the other Ultimate Realm Powers."
Primordial Ancestor explained.
This True Martial Eight Extremes Array had been explored by many Sages at the cost of their lives and was eventually deciphered by the top Array masters of All Heavens. To activate it, the Powers of the Eight Martial Realms, each at their Ultimate Realm, must be sequentially infused.
As Primordial Ancestor finished speaking, all the Saints' gazes fell on Li Hao. The God King and Supreme Sage, among others, also focused on him. In All Heavens, only this young man possessed the mysterious Sixth Extreme Realm Power.
Li Hao's expression remained calm. He knew that once the Array was activated, his uniqueness would no longer matter, and he would have to rely on his own abilities to survive. Given the current situation, he couldn't afford to refuse. Behind the Dao Sect gatehouse lay something that all Heavenly Saints craved desperately.
He took a deep breath and began to reveal his Ultimate Realm Powers one by one.
The Eight Martial Realms were Force Mastery, Circulating Heaven, Soul Continuation, Divine Roaming, Fifteen Li, Tianren Realm, Three Immortalities, and Four Foundations!
The corresponding Ultimate Realm Powers were Divine Power, Heaven-Earth Meridian, Heaven and Earth Dharma Image, Soul Spirit, Return to the Abyss, Transcend to Immortality, Eternal and Indestructible, and Eternal Dao Domain!
As Divine Power, Heaven-Earth Meridian, and other Ultimate Realm Powers gradually emerged, Li Hao channeled them into the revealed True Martial Eight Extremes Array. The array began to glow, with each light being activated one by one.
When it came to the Sixth Extreme Realm, Li Hao's hair turned silver-white, and he summoned the Power of Heaven and Earth, infusing the Transcend to Immortality Power into the Array.
The array radiated a brilliant silver light, becoming overwhelmingly bright.
Apart from Transcend to Immortality, the other Ultimate Realm Powers were already mastered by Primordial Ancestor and the Supreme Sage. Knowing that Li Hao possessed the necessary Power, no one else intervened, leaving the task to him.
As the Eternal Dao Domain Power flowed in, the True Martial Eight Extremes Array glowed more brilliantly than ever. The eight Powers spun rapidly, merging into a hazy Chaos Power. Then, an ancient Restriction, long sealed, began to open slowly.
The ripples before the gatehouse dissipated like a water curtain.
The scene inside had changed drastically. It was a dark, cold Passage, like a cave in a mountain, emitting a putrid odor.
The faces of the Saints all changed, their expressions grave.
Whoosh!
Primordial Ancestor's figure suddenly shot forward, swiftly entering the gatehouse.
Another crimson figure followed closely behind, almost in tandem—none other than the God King, who had been ready to pounce.
Seeing the two take the lead, the other Supreme Sages did not hesitate either. Despite the unknown dangers that lay ahead, they knew that great rewards often came with great risks. If they fell behind, they would miss out on any treasures that might be inside.
The Law Saint, Medicine Sage, Ink Saint, and others quickly followed in pursuit.
Li Hao narrowed his eyes and followed closely behind, while keeping a watchful eye on the other Sages.
Before the Path Sealing Platform opened, no one would have attacked him. Even if they had, the Primordial Ancestor and others would have come to his aid, ensuring his safety. But now, things were different.
His usefulness had run out.
Fortunately, everyone was eager to explore the unknown, and no one was bothering him for the moment.
Li Hao followed behind the Supreme Sages and noticed that the dark passage was littered with numerous corpses, already decayed to bones.
The air was thick with the stench of rotting flesh. Li Hao scanned the bones and saw that they bore Dao Patterns, just like his own, indicating that they had condensed their Dao Bones!
However, it seemed they had failed to refine their Divine Blood into Dao Power. Otherwise, their flesh and blood would still be intact, and they wouldn't have decayed into skeletons.
Li Hao didn't rush to catch up. If there were any treasures, the Supreme Sages would surely fight over them. It was better to move slowly and avoid drawing their attention.
As Li Hao walked and observed, the other Sages raced ahead, with some quickly overtaking him.
"These skeletons are most likely those of Immortal Deities."
Sword Master caught up to Li Hao, slowed down, and said in a serious tone.
"Don't linger. With so many Immortal Deity remains, there must be an Immortal Deity Path inside!"
Sword Saint swept past, quickly adding, "Come on, let's go deeper into the passage."
Sword Master glanced at Li Hao and asked, "Are you worried about the Supreme Sages?"
Li Hao nodded slightly and replied, "Go ahead. Don't worry about me."
Sword Master thought for a moment and said, "Alright, I'll go and scout the situation."
He knew that if the Supreme Sages decided to target Li Hao, he wouldn't be much help by staying by his side.
Back when Li Hao was in trouble at the Buddhist Sect, Sword Master's intervention had relieved the crisis. But now, the enemies Li Hao faced were far beyond his capabilities.
The difference between the Three Calamities and the Supreme Sages was vast, despite the small step between them.
"Immortal Deity remains... Can Immortal Deities die?"
Li Hao's eyes flickered. Old Feng had mentioned that the Immortal Deities had vanished due to some terrible crisis, a Heaven and Earth Catastrophe.
Could these Immortal Deity remains have fallen victim to that Heaven and Earth Catastrophe?
"Could it be the Heavenly Dao's killing intent?"
Li Hao's eyes revealed deep thought. The corpses in the passage and the traces within the Ancient Hall confirmed the existence of Immortal Deities.
But what could cause the fall of Immortal Deities, other than the power of the Heavenly Dao? Li Hao couldn't think of anything else.
He could now invoke the will of the Heavenly Dao and, having transcended to the Ultimate stage of Immortality, could barely harness its power. He felt that the Heavenly Dao had no ill intentions toward all beings, treating them like flowers and plants. This wasn't indifference but a permissive and inclusive attitude towards the cycle of life.
If not a Heavenly Dao Catastrophe, what other disaster could have wiped out the Immortal Deities, who had surpassed the Sage realm?
Li Hao continued his journey and soon emerged from the passage into a grand hall. Inside, several power eruptions indicated a fierce battle over a broken spear shaft.
The spearhead was shattered, and the shaft, made of bronze, exuded an ancient aura, radiating a faint tribulation power.
Li Hao, now highly sensitive to tribulation power, could tell at a glance that this broken spear was an incredibly powerful Dao Tribulation Imperial Weapon. Despite its damage, it was comparable to a five-tribulation or even six-tribulation Imperial Weapon.
Law Saint and Ink Saint were vying for one treasure, while Medicine Sage and Fame Saint were competing for another amber-colored gem.
Indeed, there were treasures within this grand hall, and they were quickly noticed by the Supreme Sages.
While they were fighting over the treasures, the other Sages were searching everywhere.
Although everyone knew the treasures the Supreme Sages were fighting over were extremely valuable, the other Sages couldn’t afford to be envious and had to look for their own items.
Inside the hall stood a young man's sculpture, but no one dared to approach it. The sculptures here were clad in battle armor, exuding an even more formidable presence.
Li Hao glanced around and saw that the figures of Primordial Ancestor and God King had vanished. He didn’t join in the nearby scramble but continued forward, reaching the end of the hall where three paths diverged.
Li Hao noticed that two of the paths had residual auras, one belonging to Primordial Ancestor and the other to God King.
The central path, however, was marked by the auras of other Supreme Sages, such as Supreme Sage and Dragon Saint.
Li Hao's eyes flickered slightly, and he ultimately stopped, not continuing further.
He returned to the hall, watching the Sages scrambling and searching everywhere. At that moment, they seemed no different from rural bandits.
He chose a higher spot and sat down on a zabuton in front of the sculpture, waiting for their scramble to end and for Primordial Ancestor and the others to finish their exploration. He wanted to see if there truly was a path to the Immortal Deity.
After all, this was the path leading to the Immortal Deity's abode, and Li Hao couldn’t help but feel a bit curious.
He remained calm, sitting there, in stark contrast to the other Sages who were searching and fighting over the bizarre treasures within the hall.
As he observed, he suddenly felt the zabuton beneath him sink slightly, and a suction force began to draw power from his body.
Li Hao was taken aback and quickly stood up, looking at the zabuton with suspicion.
The zabuton appeared unchanged, still gray and unremarkable. Li Hao tried to release a bit of power, and indeed, it was absorbed by the zabuton.
But the zabuton seemed like a bottomless pit, absorbing a large amount of power without any visible change.
As Li Hao prepared to pick up the zabuton to investigate this strange treasure, a loud rumble suddenly came from the sculpture.
Then, a beam of light shot from the statue’s eyes, enveloping his body.
Next, a wave of spatial laws power covered him, and Li Hao felt a flash before his eyes. When he reappeared, he sensed the auras of two Supreme Sages nearby.
The unusual occurrence also drew the attention of the other Sages in the hall.
"Where's Heavenly Venerated Hao?"
"Where did he go? It seems he triggered something and was teleported by the statue."
"Could it be the path to the Immortal Deity?!"
The many Sages who had been fighting over the treasures were suddenly excited. Some even abandoned their struggle and rushed to the sculpture.
Fame Saint’s eyes flashed with anger as he gave up on the gem and approached the zabuton.
He examined it closely and quickly spotted the issue. He raised his hand and released power, enveloping the zabuton. Soon, a beam of light shot from the statue’s eyes again, enveloping him.
As the Sages gathered around the sculpture, Li Hao, who had been teleported first, saw two familiar figures beside him.
Supreme Sage and Dragon Saint.
They both looked slightly surprised at Li Hao’s sudden appearance, clearly caught off guard.
Li Hao’s expression changed when he saw Supreme Sage, looking somewhat uncomfortable.
He recognized the aura, which he had sensed earlier at the central fork in the path. So, the statue had teleported him directly to the end of the central path?
Li Hao quickly scanned his surroundings and subtly moved away.
"How did you get here?"
Dragon Saint asked Li Hao directly, curious.
"Primordial Ancestor sent me here", Li Hao replied.
Supreme Sage narrowed his eyes and sneered, "You seem afraid of something. Afraid of me? It looks like someone told you something."
Dragon Saint glanced at him and understood, smiling, "Then I won’t disturb you."
With that, Li Hao turned and ran. The area was a hall, but fortunately, there were passages on both sides. He quickly fled, cursing inwardly.
He had only wanted to sit and rest for a moment, but now he found himself inexplicably teleported here. This was truly a nightmare.
