Chapter 390: 506,000 Crimson Heaven Points (Requesting Monthly Vote)
They’re all dead!
Lin Qi stared at the corpses before him. Their lifeless eyes still reflected terror.
Among them were several students from his own Sixth Institute.
But now they were gone, slain by his own hands.
And they deserved it!
Li Zehao and Yu Jing had once clashed with him. Li Zehao, in particular, had clearly wanted him dead.
Now both were corpses.
His enemies were few—Li Zehao and Zhang Tai had topped his list. He’d already learned from Yue Feng that Zhang Tai had died at the battlefront.
With Li Zehao gone, his two greatest foes were eliminated.
A rare sense of relief washed over him.
“Dean, come out now!” he called calmly toward the distant forest.
“Whoosh!”
In an instant, three blurred figures emerged from the empty woods, materializing abruptly before him.
“Clap! Clap!”
Xue Zhou in the center clapped mockingly.
“Marvelous, Lin Qi! You’ve truly surprised us!”
“Faced with ten attackers—two at Sixth Realm Combat Power, eight at Fifth—you slaughtered them effortlessly.”
Clad in azure battle armor, his imposing aura radiated outward. A top-tier blue battle saber hung at his waist, exuding chilling coldness.
Beside him stood Liu Ran and another middle-aged man with a sharp, hardened demeanor.
Liu Ran asked curiously, “Lin Qi, how did you detect us?”
Lin Qi smiled. “Your auras were too obvious. Spotting you wasn’t hard.”
Liu Ran stiffened. Though they hadn’t concealed themselves, being located hundreds of meters away was alarming. Their opponent’s perception was formidable.
Lin Qi exhaled, his golden battle aura receding. Fatigue surged through his trembling body—aching muscles, lingering pain. The nonstop combat had drained him: first defeating a Fifth Realm Disaster Beast Clawrend Ape and a Sixth Realm Ironspine Warbear, then battling Li Zehao’s group, topped with using his Minor Divine Ability.
Xue Zhou tossed him a high-grade healing elixir. Lin Qi downed it without hesitation.
“Gulp!”
The exhaustion ebbed as strength returned. His heart thudded powerfully, blood coursing to accelerate his metabolism.
Sitting atop a slain Clawrend Ape, he pointed at Li Zehao and Yu Jing’s corpses.
“What happened?”
“Why did they suddenly attack me?”
“Didn’t they realize they’d die if they killed me?”
“How did they grow this reckless?”
Xue Zhou explained, “They weren’t brave. They were controlled.”
“They joined the Vermin God Cult for martial talent enhancement, didn’t they?”
Liu Ran sneered, “No free meals fall from the sky. The Vermin God Cult’s elixirs had hidden costs.”
“They ingested nanobots—controlling their bodies and brainwashing them.”
“They were puppets, unable to resist.”
Lin Qi frowned. “That’s terrifying.”
Xue Zhou nodded. “Indeed. Even humans lack such technology.”
“But the control requires consuming their elixirs. Strong Spiritual Power or an awakened realm can purge the nanobots.”
Lin Qi nodded. This tech only threatened Fourth Realm cultivators. Fifth Realm breakthroughs rendered it harmless.
Xue Zhou eyed the corpses. “Well done eliminating them. Their families will face consequences next.”
Suddenly, two figures approached—Huo Wanyang and a mild-mannered middle-aged man.
“It’s over. Five eliminated!” Huo Wanyang panted, pale-faced. Ambushed by classmates, he’d nearly died before the Dean intervened.
The First Institute Dean surveyed the carnage. “They really targeted Lin Qi! Ten attackers—this battle looked intense. Not your usual style, old Xue!”
Xue Zhou chuckled. “Lin Qi handled them all alone.”
The Dean gaped. “One man, ten foes?”
“Of course,” Xue Zhou smirked. “Our Sixth Institute’s Academy Head isn’t just a title.”
The Dean envied Lin Qi’s potential. Nearby, Huo Wanyang shook his head—too vast a gap to compare.
“Boom!”
A dark crimson Falcon Fighter descended.
“Let’s go,” Xue Zhou said. “The Disaster Beast Hunting Competition is over.”
Lin Qi boarded the aircraft with the others. The engine roared, soaring into the horizon.
...
In the Crimson Vault Building’s grand conference room, a holographic screen replayed Lin Qi’s battle against Li Zehao’s group.
As he activated his Minor Divine Ability, obliterating ten enemies, the leaders exhaled collectively.
“Well done!” someone cheered.
Deputy Principal Xu Wenji grinned. “Lin Qi’s growth rate astounds me. Sixth Realm Combat Power, defeating Sixth Realm beasts, surviving and countering ten attackers—his physical cultivation alone makes him peerless.”
“Once his spear techniques improve, he’ll dominate the entire academy.”
First Institute Deputy Dean Wu Yueze nodded. “At this pace, no one below Seventh Realm will challenge him.”
Dean Liu added, “Reaching Seventh Realm is inevitable.”
Xu Wenji concluded, “Now, we must purge the academy’s trash—students, teachers, even staff. No Vermin Race remnants or Disaster Beasts will be spared.”
A chilling resolve filled the air.
...
At Fortress 9’s plaza, withdrawing students chatted casually.
“This trip earned me big!”
“Rare profit opportunities!”
“Lin Qi must’ve won again.”
“What’s his score?”
A Sixth Institute student projected the leaderboard:
1st: Lin Qi – 506,000 Points
2nd: Jiang Tao – 109,000 Points
3rd: Yu Jing – 86,000 Points
