Chapter 388: Jing He: This is My House!
Chapter 388: Jing He: This is My House!
January 10th, a clear and sunny day.
In the early morning, amidst the hazy mist and the rising sun, Jing He and Sharon were seated in a private plane bound for Carnaze City.
Earlier that morning, after breakfast, Jing He received a call from Lady Guardian.
During the call, Lady Guardian mentioned that she had noticed some unfamiliar faces suddenly appearing around the cafe.
These individuals would appear at regular intervals, often lurking in a corner, silently observing the cafe.
This situation had put Lady Guardian on high alert.
Having escaped the clutches of Pokemon hunters with her younger brother, Little Guardian, she possessed keen observational skills and a certain premonition for danger.
Coupled with her formidable psychic powers, Lady Guardian was confident in her ability to handle potential threats.
However, the cafe now housed not only her and her brother but also the adorable Creamy Frost.
Moreover, the group seemed to consist of quite a few individuals.
Considering the safety of everyone involved, Lady Guardian decided to inform Jing He about this development.
And so, Jing He and Sharon immediately set off from Feather City to Carnaze City.
Jing He already had a hunch about the identity of this group.
Most likely, they were the Pokemon hunters who had previously attempted to capture Lady Guardian and her brother.
After witnessing Lady Guardian's prowess in online videos, they had developed ulterior motives.
This was an excellent opportunity to retrieve the Poke Balls containing Lady Guardian and her brother.
Jing He had allowed Lady Guardian to face challengers and even permitted the posting of challenge videos online, anticipating this very scenario.
After all, it was far more convenient to wait for the hunters to come to them than to search for them in the vast Pokemon world.
But who would have thought...
They actually dared to show up!
Jing He had informed Miss Junsha, Du Juan from the Carnaze Gym, the International Police operating in the vicinity of Carnaze City, and the Hoenn League Inspector.
To be honest, Jing He was surprised to discover that he now had access to such a significant number of resources in Carnaze City, even without involving the Carnaze Pokemon Academy or the Devon Corporation.
However, Jing He refrained from ordering Miss Junsha and the others to take action, opting to maintain the status quo.
He instructed them to remain on standby unless there were any disturbances at the cafe, to avoid alerting the hunters prematurely.
Of course, to ensure the safety of Lady Guardian, her brother, and Creamy Frost, Jing He emphasized that if a battle or confrontation erupted at the cafe, they should not hold back.
While retrieving the Poke Balls containing Lady Guardian and her brother and apprehending the Pokemon hunters was important, it paled in comparison to the safety of the three youngsters inside the cafe.
"Don't worry," Sharon reassured Jing He, who was deep in thought.
Jing He snapped out of his contemplation and smiled, saying, "I'm not worried; I just want to tell them, 'Welcome to my territory!'"
Hearing Jing He's confident declaration, Sharon couldn't help but smile.
"Speaking of which, shouldn't Daye and the others be in action as well?" Sharon asked.
Jing He nodded, "As long as they don't blow their cover, that's fine."
In Feather City, Hoenn.
At the Feather Carnival Square Cafe, Daye sat slumped in a chair with his hands in his pockets, his eyes devoid of focus, and his expression one of "despair."
In front of him was a cup of steaming coffee, untouched.
Across from him sat a man and a woman.
The man wore a casual black tailored suit, a round-brimmed hat, and a single-lens glasses, exuding a handsome aura.
The woman, on the other hand, donned a large black windbreaker and had long golden hair cascading down her back.
From certain angles, they resembled Jing He and Sharon, but in reality, they were Mikili and Nakki, disguised as Jing He and Sharon!
"Nakki," Mikili said, gazing at the girl he considered his white swan.
"Hmm~" Nakki responded with a light hum, a faint blush gracing her fair cheeks.
Although both uttered a "hmm," Nakki's attitude today was a stark contrast to her cold indifference or hostility from the day before.
It was more akin to...a playful pout?
Mikili's smile widened as he gently took Nakki's hand.
After a token struggle, Nakki relented.
After enduring the consecutive "nightmares" the previous day, Mikili and Nakki finally sat down and had an open-hearted conversation.
While they weren't quite back together, their relationship had significantly improved compared to before.
Mikili felt immense gratitude towards Jing He for this.
The "nightmares," though distressing, were ultimately just dreams, and they had served as a bridge for communication between Mikili and Nakki.
As for their current disguise, it was all part of Jing He's plan.
Daye, sitting in the corner of the Feather Carnival Square, looked utterly dejected.
Two masked individuals held cameras, snapping photos of Daye, Mikili, and Nakki, who were seated outside the cafe.
"Is that Teacher Jinghe and Miss Sharon?" one of them asked.
"It's definitely them; with that blonde hair, windbreaker, and suited-up glasses, there's no mistaking it," the other replied.
As they continued taking photos, they also reported their findings.
"They're holding hands!"
"Is that for real?!"
A photo was quickly printed, capturing the moment when Mikili and Nakki, dressed as Jing He and Sharon, were holding hands.
"Damn, this is explosive news, it'll definitely go viral if I post it online!"
One could even foresee tomorrow's headlines:
"Shocking! Famous Teacher and Beautiful Student Hold Hands in Public!"
"My Teacher is Poor, Yet a Rich Lady Clings to Him!"
"Horrifying! Who Stole Our Treasure Right Under Our Noses?!"
"You're on fire, and so will the police be after you! We're Pokemon hunters, and fire means arrest!"
"Ouch—that makes sense."
Although shocked, the two continued their report diligently.
What they didn't realize was that not far behind them, Ado and Xinchun were also in disguise, sipping on their milk tea and silently observing.
"Jinghe was talking about them, right?" Ado chewed on the bouncy pearls.
"How did he know?" Xinchun took a sip of milk tea, her face filled with confusion.
Ado smiled faintly.
"Jinghe is, after all, an investigation consultant and a senior inspector for the International Police."
"If this mission succeeds, you'll get at least another week of vacation, right?" Xinchun confirmed.
Ado's expression turned serious as he nodded.
"Yes, no problem."
"Great!"
Xinchun narrowed his eyes, slightly concealing the danger in his gaze.
They had no intention of making a move.
The two in front of them were just the beginning.
Their real goal was to mark these hunters, track them to their hideout, and then capture the entire group in one fell swoop—that would be a real achievement.
"By the way, what did Jinghe say again?" Xinchun suddenly asked.
"A praying mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole waiting behind," Ado replied.
"Ah, right."
"They're moving, let's follow closely."
As a seasoned investigator, Ado's ability in this regard was unquestionable.
If Jinghe were here, he would surely sigh over the leader of these Pokemon hunters:
Taking photos with arrogance, boasting over the communication channel, unaware of being tracked, and then, when caught, claiming an inexplicable death for the entire family.
Banner: Life and Death Unpredictable.
Hoenn, outskirts of Carnaze City.
Jinghe and Sharon had gotten off the plane early.
To avoid alerting their targets, they couldn't reveal themselves just yet.
However, for safety, Gramps had already taken Sharon's Grotle and Maxado, taking a shortcut back to the cafe.
The group of Pokemon hunters had set up an encirclement with the cafe at its center.
Unbeknownst to them, a larger net had been cast, centered on them and covering the entire city of Carnaze.
Now, they had to consider two aspects.
On one hand, they had to capture every single one of these hunters without fail.
On the other hand, they needed to minimize the disturbance and avoid disrupting the city's normal operations.
"Let's go, we're heading there too."
"Mhm."
Outside Jinghe's cafe, in a corner.
"Confirmed?"
A middle-aged man with a scruffy beard lightly pressed his index and middle fingers against his earpiece.
A confident voice came through the earpiece.
"Confirmed again! Jinghe, Sharon, and the others are still in Feather City!"
The middle-aged man squinted, secretly relieved.
Jinghe's strength was indeed formidable, and with Sharon, a fire-wielding companion, the pressure on him was immense.
If it weren't for the recent crackdown by the Sinnoh League, which had dealt them a heavy blow, they wouldn't have taken such a risk for just one Pokemon.
But that Attentive Servant, after their observation and confirmation, was indeed powerful. If they could fully tame it, it would greatly make up for the losses from the previous crackdown.
Moreover, they already possessed the Poke Balls of the Attentive Servant siblings, so there was no need for capture. They could directly use the Poke Balls to retrieve and lock them up, a process that would take no more than three seconds.
Three seconds, plus Jinghe's absence, made it a very safe time. Even if discovered later, they would have long since escaped.
The middle-aged man pressed his earpiece again, emphasizing:
"I repeat, leave immediately after retrieving them, no unnecessary delays. The car is ready at the street corner."
"Understood!"
"Move out!"
A young Pokemon hunter, dressed casually with a duck-billed hat, walked out of the corner with his hands in his pockets, looking like a regular tourist entering the cafe.
Ding-a-ling—
The wind chimes on the door rang out crisply.
"Aye~"
The Attentive Servant siblings, behind the counter as usual, welcomed and asked what they needed.
The young Pokemon hunter's face flashed with malice as he suddenly pulled his hands out of his pockets.
In his hands were two Poke Balls.
He pressed the button.
Red light shot out—
They got it!
"
Suddenly, Gramps appeared before the Attentive Servant siblings, wearing sunglasses and with a sinister smile.
He blocked the red light.
The young Pokemon hunter felt his hands suddenly empty as the two Poke Balls disappeared.
Clack-clack-clack—
Another handsome young man descended the stairs.
He gently juggled two Poke Balls in his hands.
By his side, a smirking Grotle floated.
It was Jinghe!
Under the astonished gaze of the young Pokemon hunter, Jinghe gently tossed the two Poke Balls to the ground.
Then he lifted his foot—
Bang!!
The standard red and white Poke Ball shattered into four pieces.
Jinghe's eyes turned cold.
"This is my house!"
