Chapter 383: The Celestial Spirit King
Chapter 383: The Celestial Spirit King
The collective fighting power of these heartbroken girls was truly terrifying, leaving even the Fairy Tactician and the Demon, Mira, helpless.
If only they were a little more unreasonable, like breaking a few cups or plates, or physically attacking guild members, Rod could have been ruthless enough to kick them out.
But they didn't, they just kept asking about Loki's whereabouts, inquiring about the identity of the 'True Celestial Maiden', or crying and complaining.
Rod sighed helplessly, "That Loki, he's causing trouble."
Several girls glared at him, "Don't you dare badmouth him!"
"Okay, okay... I understand." Rod didn't want to argue with them as they were all victims.
This was a group of girls that even Worm couldn't handle.
Rod suspected that Worm might have grown up and lost some of his cuteness.
After they confirmed that Loki was indeed not there and no one knew his whereabouts, they finally left.
The people in the tavern who had been harassed by them began to complain about Loki causing trouble for the guild.
Fortunately, they were not the only ones.
With his ears finally free from disturbance, Rod could finally calm down and think.
The sudden decision to leave indicated that Loki's situation was probably not good.
The other day, Grandmother Poluxica mentioned something about medicine, but that might have been a lie as well.
Perhaps the grandmother was also at a loss with his condition.
When he was sent to the treehouse, the red and blue buffs stayed there for quite some time, but Loki didn't come to find him again, indicating that the treatment was ineffective.
This was troublesome. Rod's frown deepened as he wondered what to do next. Should he tie up Loki and bring him to Wendy?
Unexpectedly, one problem hadn't been resolved when another arose.
Not long after the girls left, a postman delivered a letter.
"A letter for Guild Master Makarov."
"The Guild Master is not here, you can give it to me." Mira was used to receiving letters for the Guild Master.
The Guild Master even authorized her to open any letters sent to the guild, as they were mostly complaints, reprimands, or bills.
This time, Mira also intended to open it directly, but she paused when she saw the sender's name on the envelope: "Is this from Loki?"
Rod had a bad feeling in his heart, "Why is he writing to the Guild Master all of a sudden?"
Mira opened the envelope and unfolded the letter, and a palm-sized projection of Loki appeared from the paper, just like the magic letter Mira had sent to the Guild Master before.
The tiny projection of Loki began to speak, "Guild Master, by the time you receive this letter, I should have already left Magnolia. I've had a wonderful time in the guild these past years, and I'm grateful for your care."
"Hey, hey, what's with this farewell speech?"
Gray immediately left Natsu and rushed over, questioning the projection, attracting the attention of several companions who gathered around.
Unfortunately, it was just a projection and wouldn't respond to their questions.
They could only hear it continue, "Not only you, Guild Master, but I also want to thank my companions in the guild for their care. Meeting all of you was my good fortune. If possible, I truly wish we could have stayed together."
Natsu showed an angry expression, "Loki, what are you talking about?!"
Gray stopped him, "Shut up, Natsu! Listen carefully!"
"I... unfortunately, I am a sinner who has committed a grave mistake, and I must take responsibility. I know that whether I bid farewell properly or disappear, everyone will not abandon their companion. So I've decided... to leave the Fairy Tail guild."
Loki spoke these words with difficulty, and the projection adjusted his glasses and continued, "From now on, I am no longer a member of Fairy Tail, so you don't need to look for me anymore. I have a place I must go to. Goodbye... no, farewell."
The projection of Loki disappeared, and the guild immediately erupted in chaos.
"What's the meaning of this?"
"I don't accept this!"
Natsu and Gray were the first to push through the crowd and rush out of the guild.
"That Loki, after causing such a big problem, does he think he can just run away?"
"I'm going to bring him back right now!"
"Damn it, I haven't finished our fight from last time, don't even think of escaping!"
A group of people rushed out, creating a noisy commotion.
Rod called out, "Volian!"
"I'm here!" came the reply.
"Can you contact Loki?"
Volian pressed his index and middle fingers to his forehead, "No, I can't find him anywhere!"
The fact that Volian couldn't reach him meant that Loki was indeed no longer in Magnolia.
Rod had no choice but to release his Shadow Wolves to track by scent, lending Swift Crab to Volian and Mira, who would continue the search outside the city.
As for himself, he planned to pay a visit to Grandmother Boreusika, who might have some information.
There might have been some concealment before, but he couldn't keep it hidden any longer, could he?
...
Loki had chosen to meet his end at Calin's grave, a cliff surrounded by waterfalls on three sides.
The location was in the outskirts of the city where Azure Pegasus was located, not too far from Fairy Tail.
As Rod rushed to the scene after learning the truth from Boreusika, Lucy, who had already uncovered the truth, had begun her mission to save Loki.
She was going to use all her magical power to force open the gate and send Loki back to the Star Spirit Realm.
By the time Rod arrived nearby, a black vortex appeared in the sky, and the sky suddenly darkened, turning day into night in an instant.
Countless stars appeared in the night sky, and a giant, surrounded by a faint starry glow, hovered in mid-air.
Compared to this giant, the two on the cliff were probably not even as tall as his fingertips.
What was most startling was the terrifying magical power of that person, an oppressive force that surpassed anyone he had ever seen! Any living being!
Who exactly was this person?
"Star Spirit King!" Loki addressed him with utmost respect, "Why have you appeared?"
The Star Spirit King's voice boomed with clarity, "Old friend, according to the covenant between us and humans, we must not kill the key holder.
Even Leo, who indirectly caused this, has committed an unforgivable sin. Only this law is absolutely unchangeable."
"He's been suffering for three years! For his companions, for Aries, he had no other choice, didn't he?"
"I, too, feel the pain of an old friend's wish..."
"He's not some old friend! Listen to me, old man! You know that Calin's death was an unfortunate accident, don't you? Loki has already paid the price for his mistake! That's not a 'crime'!"
Lucy argued loudly, and as the two debated, the other guild members began to arrive one by one.
Everyone looked up, their mouths agape. They were certain that even if the Guild Master transformed into a giant, he would likely pale in comparison to this person.
Such terrifying magical power meant that even the least talented mage would know to stay away, not daring to approach recklessly.
They all stared at the golden-haired girl standing protectively in front of Loki on the cliff, and not a single person from the guild took a step forward.
Loki cried out in pain, "That's enough! Lucy, you don't have to do this!"
"It's not a crime! Caring for your companions isn't a crime! If you're a Star Spirit, you should understand Aries and Loki's feelings!"
Lucy's magical power erupted from her body—Aquarius, Taurus, Sagittarius, Virgo, Cancer...
All the Star Spirits she possessed appeared behind her for a brief moment. But Lucy's body couldn't withstand the strain, and she stumbled forward.
"Lucy!" Natsu rushed ahead, catching her in his arms before she hit the ground.
Gray followed closely behind, taking a stance in front of Loki, ready to cast his Ice-Make magic.
"Don't do anything reckless!" Loki struggled with his heavy body, trying to stop his companions' impulsive actions.
A blue glow appeared around Lucy, and Rod, Mira, and Elusa followed, surrounding Loki and Lucy.
Though no one spoke harshly, their intentions were clear.
"Natsu, and everyone..."
Lucy managed a faint smile. This guild...
