Chapter 382: Ultraman Definitely Exists
Chapter 382: Ultraman Definitely Exists
North Blue, one of the four seas under World Government control, is actually the most dangerous region of all. Compared to West Blue, which is similarly close to the New World, North Blue is far more chaotic. While West Blue’s nations maintain strong military forces capable of self-defense, North Blue’s governments are outmatched by the pirates and black gangs dominating the region.
Among the current Navy high command, Admirals Akainu and Lucius Kro both hail from North Blue, as does Shiranami. Red Hair Pirates’ Ben Beckman also originates from this region, as does the infamous Flamingo.
A warship cut through the Grand Line’s waves. Kuro, now promoted from Commander to Commodore, stood on the deck biting a cigar, his impatient gaze fixed on the stormy sea ahead. Their voyage had begun.
Donald, Ju Geng, and Fen Ni remained at headquarters for training, while the rest accompanied Kuro.
“Are we heading to North Blue?” Klah asked beside him.
“You sound excited,” Kuro noted, catching the glint in his subordinate’s eyes.
“Of course! That’s Sora’s homeland!” Klah adjusted his glasses, voice rising with enthusiasm. “Mr. Kuro, didn’t you know? Hero Sora could walk across the sea itself, battling the wicked Germa 66 legion with a giant robot!”
“Isn’t that from a manga?”
“Exactly! I’m a huge fan of that series!” Klah nodded vigorously. “I’ve loved it since I was a kid!”
Kuro’s eye twitched. You were a pirate! You read sea hero comics?!
“Listen up,” Kuro snapped. “We’re investigating the real Germa Kingdom, not some fictional hero. Didn’t I order you to gather intelligence beforehand?!”
“That’s why I’m amazed!” Klah countered. “If Germa exists, Sora must too! Maybe I’ll even meet him!”
“Bullshit! Sora doesn’t exist! You’d have better luck believing in ‘light’! Want to become a Space Ranger yourself? I’ll happily launch you into orbit as a star!” Kuro growled.
“Y-yes, sir!”
Klah quickly straightened, pulling out a map. “Germa Kingdom is a mercenary state, nicknamed ‘War House.’ They specialize in contracting wars, similar to Luo Family in West Blue’s Insect Country. But unlike Luo, who mainly supply combat forces for decapitation tactics, Germa directly wages entire wars for clients.”
He jabbed a finger at an island. “Tomato Island. Their current conflict is here. Our Navy and government agents vanished during this four-nation war. Oddly, Vinsmoke Family maintains close ties with the World Government. Why would they disappear? Even Admiral Lucius Kro received orders about this. Could Vinsmoke be refusing cooperation?”
Kuro blinked. “That’s all you’ve got?”
“That’s all,” Klah confirmed.
“You think I need you to explain what’s obvious? My knee could’ve told me this!” Kuro snarled. “I want to know if there’s any threat over there that could actually hurt me! I’m just gathering intel, but North Blue’s the deadliest sea. And they’re in a war zone! Blades have no eyes, you know!”
Klah pushed his glasses up, suppressing a sigh. You’re joking, right? Who could hurt you?
He studied Kuro’s imposing figure—taller now, his Navy uniform accentuating his sharp features. The man’s eight-month power-up spree had been ridiculous. Between exploiting headquarters for top-tier weapons and replacing every “worn” item with new ones under the guise of maintaining combat readiness, his warship practically floated on a cloud of luxury. Even leftover construction materials, Pegasus Island’s surplus stone, and “unclaimed” pirate ships had been requisitioned for his floating fortress.
Who dares touch you? You’re practically a floating supercontinent!
“But Mr. Kuro,” Klah ventured, “since we’re just gathering intel, maybe we should directly contact Gajeel? As a member state, there’s no conflict.”
“Good idea,” Kuro nodded. “Let’s skip the sneaking around. Smoker’s the idiot who gets caught doing that.”
“Gajeel—the Germa 66 Legion Commander Sora fought against?” Klah’s eyes lit up. “He must know where Sora is!”
“NO Such Person!” Kuro’s blue vein throbbed. “You’ve been infected by Lida’s nonsense!”
“Huh?” Lida munched a cookie nearby. “Sora? I’ve heard of that manga, but I never watched it.”
Kuro groaned, shaking his head. “Sora doesn’t exist. But Ultraman? He’s real. One day, he’ll come for me.”
