Chapter 382: The Offensive
Chapter 382: The Offensive
As one of the cars in the convoy opened its door, a pair of slender legs in high heels stepped out, belonging to a seductive woman with a slim waist, clad in a short skirt, draped in fur, and adorned with purple eye shadow.
She approached the patrol car with a clicking sound, took out a resident ID card from her bosom, and handed it to one of the security guards, giving him a flirtatious glance.
As the two guards couldn't help but glance at her, a mesmerizing light flashed in her eyes, and they stared at her, transfixed.
The seductive woman then moved her fingers, and two hair-thin implants emerged, each coiling and penetrating the back of the guards' necks.
After a while, the two guards seemed to snap out of their trance. One of them carefully examined the ID card and found that it belonged to a resident of the area, but they remained vigilant. He glanced at the other vehicles and asked, "Why are there so many of you?"
The woman smiled coquettishly and replied in a sultry voice, "We were invited to a gathering at a resident's home. They enjoy a lively atmosphere, so there are quite a few of us."
"Are all the people in the cars invited guests?"
"Yes."
"Can we take a look inside? Please understand that we are responsible for the safety of every resident in this residential area."
"Of course."
The woman smiled and walked towards the back of the convoy, opening each car door as she passed. Inside were tall and muscular men and women, all covered in cloaks, adorned with snake-like accessories. Some had them embedded in their lower lips, while others wore them on their chests.
Each person had cold eyes, and some had scars and snake-like patterns on their faces, making them look ferocious.
However, in the eyes of the two guards, they saw a voluptuous beauty and a group of meticulously dressed handsome young men.
Considering the timing, the guards exchanged subtle expressions, knowing that these people were being transported to a specific residence.
After inspecting the ID card, one of the guards returned it to the woman and apologized, "Sorry for the disturbance." They then returned to their patrol car and quickly left the area.
The patrol car joined another one nearby, and they reported to their superiors, "We've checked, and there's no issue. They are residents from the east, invited to a gathering by a northern household. The people in the car... well, you know how they are. But that woman was incredibly seductive..."
As the patrol car drove away, the entire convoy continued forward. Xia Sheng, sitting in the back, praised the woman, "Sister Feng, your hypnosis skills never cease to amaze."
Sister Feng waved her hand dismissively, "Enough, no need to flatter me. I only managed to take advantage of the field interference. Otherwise, the implants in their bodies would have detected physiological anomalies and sent out alerts during the hypnosis. If that happened, the Mo Tie Mountain security would have been alerted by now."
Just then, a shadow passed overhead, accompanied by a beam of light and the sound of a propeller from above.
It was a small patrol airship from Mo Tie Mountain, a significant threat. Even with several Third-Degree Combatants in the convoy, they had no effective countermeasure against such a large airship. It was best to avoid it if possible, but as the fog thickened, reducing visibility, the patrols would likely become less frequent.
The convoy proceeded without further hindrance, smoothly approaching the area where the Meng Clan Estate was located. Due to the fog, they could only vaguely make out the outline of the estate.
Sister Feng asked, "Is that it?"
"Yes, that's the place."
Xia Sheng nodded and knocked on the car wall, instructing the driver, "Go ahead and tell them to stop here."
Within a minute, the convoy came to a halt at a corner. Xia Sheng checked his watch and said, "Perfect timing, we have five minutes. Let's wait."
The dense fog provided excellent cover, the weather they had been waiting for. As the attack commenced, Xia Sheng had arranged for two mercenary teams to simultaneously assault different locations in Mo Tie Mountain to distract the security system. Once the attention was drawn, they would move on to the primary target.
This strategy was the most convenient, and even if the mercenaries were all killed, it would save them some money.
Time passed quickly, and gunshots could be heard from both the east and west. Xia Sheng knew the moment had arrived. He immediately approached the middle-aged man and asked, "Boss?"
The man nodded, and Xia Sheng turned to the others, "Check your equipment and get ready for action!"
The car doors opened, and the team members, both men and women of various heights, stepped out.
"Remember, to ensure a successful retreat, we have a maximum of twenty minutes. Within that time, we must eliminate the target..."
Xia Sheng reiterated some crucial points, although he had mentioned them before, several times. He knew that some team members weren't interested in the plan and only sought the thrill of combat and slaughter. Without the boss's restraint, they wouldn't listen to him.
But as the plan leader, he had to reiterate, hoping that at least some of it would sink in.
"Aside from the Third-Degree Combatant in the estate, there are only ordinary security and bio-weapons. Be cautious of that Third-Degree Combatant; he's not to be taken seriously."
"You've all seen the previous recordings. Wei Wusheng, skilled in cross-training, was killed by a bare-handed hammer strike, and he took down a Fengya person with his bare hands within three steps. So, we must take him out at the first opportunity and not give him a chance to demonstrate his abilities..."
As impatience began to show on many faces, he promptly concluded his speech, "Alright, let's move!"
At the Meng Manor, the distant sound of gunfire also caught the attention of the security patrol. One of them immediately reported to Chen Chuan, "Mr. Chen..."
Inside the villa, Chen Chuan had just finished his meditation session and replied, "I heard."
But before he could finish his sentence, he realized there was no response from the other end, only the sound of static and noise. He tried contacting Wu Bei and the others, but it was the same.
Understanding that the field signals were being jammed, he knew what was coming. He stepped out and said to the guard at the door, "The enemy is coming. Get ready."
The security guard tensed up and saluted him before rushing out. Soon after, an alarm blared across the manor's skies.
In her bedroom, Meng Shu heard the alarm and quickly got up, her face showing a hint of anxiety. However, when her servants, Yan Yi, and the security personnel arrived, she quickly composed herself.
Yan Yi approached her, "Miss, let's go downstairs."
Meng Shu nodded and followed a few people to the basement. As they passed by the window, she paused and glanced outside. Yan Yi said, "Mr. Chen has made extensive preparations, and he himself is a formidable fighter. There shouldn't be any problems."
Meng Shu lightly nodded, and three female security guards immediately escorted her into the basement, which would soon be sealed off. The defensive setup here was sufficient to prevent intruders from breaking in for a while.
Meanwhile, the Handling Bureau, which had been monitoring the Meng Manor, also sensed something amiss. A resonator immediately reported, "Captain Guan, the field information is being jammed!"
Captain Guan's expression turned serious, "It seems Meng Huang has made his move. Notify the Mo Tie Mountain security and break through the signal jamming as soon as possible!"
"Yes, sir!"
At that moment, Chen Chuan returned to the house, calmly putting on his protective gear, gloves, and mask. Finally, he picked up the Xue Jun Dao and slowly walked out of the villa.
Standing at a higher vantage point, he looked down, but the thick fog made it difficult to discern the situation clearly. However, they had rehearsed this many times, so the security team remained calm and swiftly took their positions.
Flying bio-weapons, awakened from their slumber, patrolled key areas, their senses heightened. Despite their average combat abilities, these creatures were highly sensitive. Anyone passing through their guarded zones, no matter how fast, would likely alert them.
As searchlights illuminated the sky, vague silhouettes could be seen moving swiftly through the fog, heading towards the mountain. Simultaneously, the defensive positions around the manor erupted with gunfire.
This surprise attack force consisted not only of Third-Degree Combatants but also First and Second-Degree experts and ordinary gunmen.
Chen Chuan knew these individuals were not the primary threat. True experts would not be constrained by the terrain and would avoid the heavily fortified front, opting to flank from the sides. Ignoring these gunmen, he stood alone, holding his knife, guarding the open space above the residential area on the hill.
After a short wait, movement came from the left. A large figure charged towards him with a speed that seemed impossible for his bulky frame.
This tall, broad-shouldered man carried a sturdy folding shield on his back. His muscular build, resembling solid rock, was evident even through his clothing. He wore spiked knuckle gloves, and the bio-weapons in his path were no match for his sheer force, bursting into pieces upon impact.
As one of the creatures flew towards his face, he simply ducked, causing it to explode into a mess on his head. He casually wiped it away and, upon reaching close range, leaped into the air, landing heavily on the ground, creating a circle of cracks beneath his feet.
But before he could steady himself, the figure in front of him suddenly appeared right before him. He didn't have time to grab his shield and instead roared, punching forward.
Chen Chuan faced this punch head-on, his breath turning scorching hot. He punched back, and with a loud boom, their fists collided, like a thunderclap on the mountaintop.
Where their fists met, wisps of white vapor rose, blending into the fog like ascending clouds. The tall figure paused, his body emitting creaking sounds as blood oozed from his pores. In the astonished gaze of the approaching personnel, he seemed to lose skeletal support, collapsing to the ground.
Chen Chuan maintained his punching stance, his eyes cold, but his voice remained calm, "The first one." Simultaneously, a faint flash appeared on his protective gear, suit, and mask.
