Chapter 382: Return to Earth
Chapter 382: Return to Earth
As Su Yu dealt with Intelligence Minister Hilton, Morning Star released a powerful stellar breath that slammed directly into the crowd of journalists below.
These Skrull journalists were generally only second or third stage in strength and had no means to resist. They were instantly disintegrated by the breath.
Su Yu gave Morning Star an appreciative look, then turned his gaze toward Secretary of State Ray, ready to take him out as well.
But at that moment, a golden giant eye suddenly opened at the top of the tallest building in Trenar City—the Trenar Tower.
"Counter, danger!" Without hesitation, Morning Star used [Blink] to teleport directly between Su Yu and the tower.
Hum—
The Trenar Tower released a green disintegration beam, which struck Morning Star directly. The massive dragon form of Morning Star was instantly shattered into molecular fragments.
After killing Morning Star, the disintegration beam continued its lethal trajectory, striking Su Yu from behind. He felt his back and right side of his body almost particleize, completely losing sensation.
Daring not to stay any longer, Su Yu quickly activated the green pendant on his chest.
A star gate opened before him, and he leaped through, his figure vanishing into the sky.
Beep—Beep—Beep—Beep—
After Su Yu's departure, Trenar City's alarms blared, the entire city bathed in the flashing red light of the emergency sirens.
Secretary of State Ray, a survivor of the chaos, collapsed in a pool of blood and debris, his eyes vacant as he stared at the scene before him.
Speaker Cass and Deputy Speaker Gordon had died in the most brutal manner, and the journalists below had been completely obliterated by Morning Star's breath. Apart from Ray, there were almost no other survivors.
And the person who had carried out the assassination was none other than "Number One," whom they had been discussing capturing just the night before!
How had "Number One's" strength suddenly become so terrifying? Even a seventh-stage legendary warrior didn't have the power to kill a Speaker in a single move!
Moreover, "Number One" had chosen the perfect moment to strike, when their high-level warriors were away and their internal defenses were at their weakest.
The Runkte Alliance—no, the entire Skrull planet—was about to change forever!
...
Meanwhile, in the basement of Donna's villa in the capital of Huaxia, Earth.
Bang!
Su Yu's body slammed heavily onto the ground, fresh blood gushing out and almost staining half the basement wall red. He had fainted on the spot.
"Finally, one of them has returned," Xue Wenli, who was on duty outside the basement, breathed a sigh of relief.
She had been waiting here for three days, anticipating the return of the three heroes to Earth.
The spatial tunnel had been open for two and a half days, with only half a day left before it would close. She had been sinking into despair, as no one had returned.
Had all three of them been sacrificed on Skrull?
Now, hearing the muffled thud from the basement, her mood improved. Someone had returned, and that was a good sign!
Xue Wenli stepped to the basement window and peered inside.
What she saw stunned her!
Blood! Everywhere was blood!
On the ground lay Su Yu, unconscious, his right side and back a bloody mess, unrecognizable.
Blood continued to flow from Su Yu, pooling on the basement floor and forming a small lake.
This sight shocked Xue Wenli.
Daring not to linger, she hurried in her high heels up to the second floor, toward Donna's bedroom.
Fifteen minutes later, a groggy and reluctant Donna descended the stairs to the basement.
"Finally, I can have a good night's sleep, and you wake me up the moment I drift off," Donna grumbled as she walked.
"Sorry, Miss Donna," Xue Wenli quickly replied with a forced smile. "Su Yu is seriously injured. I was afraid he might not make it if you didn't get here in time!"
"Alright, I'll let it slide for the sake of my cute junior," Donna waved her hand dismissively.
By now, they had reached the entrance to the basement. Donna glanced at Xue Wenli. "Stay here and don't move. Absolutely do not enter the room; the residual magic could kill you instantly. Got it?"
"Understood!" Xue Wenli responded quickly.
She was just an ordinary person and wouldn't risk her life. However, she didn't stand idle and immediately sent a text to Zhong Feng and Zhang Zhengwei to inform them of the situation.
"Alright." Donna nodded, opened the door, and stepped into the basement.
Inside, Donna glanced at Su Yu, who was nearly a pile of mush on the floor, her expression unreadable.
"Tsk, tsk. A mere Level 1 civilization managed to do this much damage. My junior isn't as capable as I thought."
Donna shook her head, crouched down, and pulled aside Su Yu's clothes to examine his injuries.
But after probing his wounds with her mental powers, her expression turned surprised. "Disintegration Beam? The injuries are from a Disintegration Beam? It looks like my junior pulled off something extraordinary!"
The "Disintegration Beam" originates from the divine spell "Disintegration," a power that only planetary-level warriors can master.
Over 200 years ago, when the Holy Silver Federation first discovered Skrul, they gifted the "Disintegration Beam" as part of a technological aid program to the Skrulians. It became one of their most advanced technologies.
She hadn't expected Su Yu to be injured by this.
"Pheta vi acahachi!" Donna whispered, and a beam of holy light descended from the sky, striking her.
Donna extended her arm, and a massive amount of divine power gathered in her palm.
Once it reached a certain level, she pressed it down, channeling the pure holy light into Su Yu's body.
"Ahh~" Su Yu let out a sound that was a mix of pain and relief. The holy light enveloped his bloodied back and right side, gradually healing his injuries.
Seeing that Su Yu was no longer in immediate danger, Donna clapped her hands and walked out of the basement without looking back.
Noticing Donna's exit, Xue Wenli hurried over, her face filled with worry. "Miss Donna, how is Su Yu? Is he in any danger?"
Donna glanced at Xue Wenli and said coolly, "Don't worry, he won't die. Wait here at the door. He should be able to come out on his own in about two hours."
After speaking, Donna stretched lazily. "I'm going to catch some sleep. Don't disturb me unless it's an emergency."
With that, Donna headed up the stairs.
"Okay," Xue Wenli peered through the basement window, wanting to check on Su Yu's condition.
But just as Donna was about to leave, she suddenly turned around and walked back down the stairs.
Her eyes were fixed on Xue Wenli, not on Su Yu, who was lying in the basement.
"Miss Donna, is there something wrong?" Xue Wenli felt a chill run down her spine under Donna's intense gaze.
"I need a pillow for my sleep," Donna said bluntly.
"Shall I go buy one for you? What kind would you like?"
"No need. You can be my pillow," Donna said, hoisting Xue Wenli up by the waist and carrying her off to her bedroom.
