Chapter 376: Liberating the Slaves
Chapter 376: Liberating the Slaves
...,
Traveler?"
Han Kook had never heard of this title, but she could recognize one thing: the King's Haki that had just been released belonged to Feng Ye, who had knocked down the World Nobles' attendants!
Appearing at this time and defeating the World Nobles' attendants was definitely a blessing, no matter what the situation was.
And the man before her...
Having lived on Amazon Lily her whole life, Han Kook had only seen women. After being captured by human traffickers, almost every man she encountered had an ugly and repulsive face, not to mention the despicable World Nobles she had just met.
In comparison, Feng Ye's gentle face, with a slight smile, was like a brilliant blue gem shining amidst the sand, reflecting sparkling rays under the sunlight.
Aesthetic justice.
Sometimes, this phrase was more than just words.
As Han Kook stood there in a daze, her mind filled with questions. She wanted to ask who Feng Ye was, why he was here, and what he intended to do, but for some reason, she couldn't bring herself to ask any of these questions.
"Sis... Sister..."
After a few seconds, Mary Geoul and Sandra Sonnia finally snapped out of their stupor and rushed to Han Kook's side, huddling on her left and right.
Feng Ye's eyes glistened as he witnessed this scene.
He had just rewritten Han Kook's future, much like he had altered Robin's. From this point on, whether Han Kook would still become the Pirate Empress under the guidance of fate was unknown. Perhaps she would blend into obscurity like countless others—the future held endless possibilities.
With his ability to foresee the future, Feng Ye could have easily glimpsed all of these possibilities. Yet, he chose not to, for it was far more intriguing to follow the winds of fate and observe where they would ultimately lead, just like reading a novel without skipping to the end.
Spoilers ruined the fun.
"...”
Feng Ye continued to gaze at Han Kook, then suddenly stepped forward, extending his left hand toward her.
Instinctively, Han Kook wanted to back away, but as she looked at Feng Ye's face, an inexplicable sense of trust washed over her, and she paused, not moving away.
Crack! !
Feng Ye's hand clasped her neck, his fingers gripping the slave collar around it—a special collar designed to explode if tampered with. With a gentle squeeze, the collar let out a crackling sound.
The entire collar was crushed by Feng Ye's grip, but it didn't explode. Instead, it emitted a faint sizzling noise before shattering into pieces.
"This..."
Han Kook was stunned. Feng Ye's actions were so swift that she hadn't even realized what had happened before the collar around her neck was destroyed.
She stumbled slightly, reaching up to touch her neck.
Han Kook had worn that collar for a long time and knew how dangerous it was. She had witnessed another slave attempting to escape by picking the lock with a wire, only to trigger the explosion and lose their head in an instant. Yet, Feng Ye had crushed the collar with his bare hands without setting it off.
As Han Kook stood there, still dazed, Feng Ye extended his left and right hands toward her two sisters.
With two more crisp cracks, their collars shattered just like hers.
"Run."
"Get out of here."
After crushing the collars, Feng Ye retracted his hands and spoke to Han Kook. Simultaneously, he balled his left hand into a fist and delivered a powerful punch upward, toward the side of Han Kook's head.
Boom! ! !
A massive fist imprint erupted in the air, sweeping away everything in its path. The punch carved a colossal passage that slanted upward from the ground, extending for hundreds of meters and reaching toward the surface.
The passage inclined upward, leading to the outside world, where sunlight streamed in from the end of the tunnel, illuminating the dark underground space.
"Are we dreaming?"
The commotion caused a stir throughout the underground facility.
Some slaves in nearby cages began to stir, their voices rising in chaos as they realized what was happening—someone had invaded the Red Earth Continent and the World Nobles' slave quarters!
While her two sisters were still dazed, Hancock had already snapped out of her stupor, her eyes fixed on the passage leading outside, towards liberty. Excitement shone in her eyes.
"Th-Thank you so much!"
Instead of rushing towards the exit, she turned to Feng Ye with immense gratitude.
"Go." Feng Ye smiled gently at her.
Hancock nodded, her eyes fixed on Feng Ye's face as if committing his features to memory. After several seconds, she tore her gaze away and grabbed her two sisters.
"Quick! Let's get out of here!"
Mary Geoul and Sandra Sonnia also expressed their profound gratitude, but before they could thank Feng Ye, Hancock pulled them towards the exit.
Their escape was witnessed by the slaves in the nearby cages, and soon, cries for help and pleas for freedom rang out.
"Save me..."
"Get me out of here!"
In the cage closest to Feng Ye, a burly man with handcuffs gripped the bars of his cell, pleading, "Let me out! I'll be your subordinate! My bounty was 70 million berries!"
Feng Ye turned away from the retreating figures of Hancock and her sisters and glanced at the pirate in the nearby cage. "I'm sorry... I don't need subordinates."
As he finished speaking, a pitch-black substance materialized in the air before him, weaving and flowing as he shaped it into a Dao-Seeking Jade, which he then hurled at the nearby cages.
The steel cages crumbled like fragile foam under the touch of the Dao-Seeking Jade, shattering effortlessly.
Clang! Clang!!
Several cages were destroyed, and the slaves within, their faces lit with joy, stumbled out of their confinement.
"The path your wind blows towards is of little interest to me, but you do have the right to live on..." Feng Ye murmured.
Manipulating the Dao-Seeking Jade, he destroyed the slaves' collars before continuing deeper into the slave quarters.
"No... No... Let me out, too! Let me go!"
The remaining pirates in their cages watched, their eyes wide, as Feng Ye walked away.
One of them struggled, shouting, "Why only them? Why do they get to be saved...?"
"..."
Feng Ye didn't pause in his stride, but his voice echoed in the darkness. "The moment you chose to become pirates, you forfeited your rights."
He didn't mind freeing a few more slaves as he went along, but he drew the line at pirates. As Garp had said, pirates did not deserve sympathy.
Pirates like Luffy and Ace were the exception, not the rule.
Most pirates were lawless, bringing chaos and destruction wherever they went... While Feng Ye didn't believe in simplistic notions of good and evil, he recognized that these individuals served no purpose but to bring more turmoil to the world.
