Chapter 376: Daye: Save me, please!
Chapter 376: Daye: Save me, please!
"Teacher, there's something else I wanted to ask for your help with today."
After consuming most of a cup of coffee and two cakes, Dawu felt refreshed and energized.
"Put my mind at ease?" Jinghe asked, a hint of confusion on her face as she glanced at Yasha and Du Juan.
The two of them mirrored her expression, equally perplexed.
Since Dawu's return, he had been absent, presumably searching for something outside. They had no idea what he wanted them to oversee.
Dawu smiled enigmatically and stood up. "We might need to change locations."
The four of them then headed to the lake behind Jinghe's house.
The young ones, who were undergoing basic training in the backyard, followed them out, curious about what was happening.
Jinghe shrugged, indicating she had no idea either.
Dawu took a deep breath and slowly closed his eyes.
A gentle breeze ruffled his tie, and in his hand, adorned with two silver-white rings, a Poke Ball materialized.
"It can't be..." Jinghe's heart skipped a beat.
Dawu gently moved his fingers, his eyes snapping open, revealing a serious and solemn expression. He released the Poke Ball, exclaiming, "Go, Flashgold!"
"Kangjin!!"
A dazzling Mega Flashgold appeared, its silver body reflecting starlight in the sunlight.
The Trainer and his Pokemon exchanged a glance, both nodding in unison.
Dawu's fingers danced in the air as if playing an invisible piano, and suddenly, a brooch appeared on his fingertip, radiating a vibrant red light.
His eyes sharpened, and he gently kissed the brooch, smiling as he commanded, "Flashgold, Mega Evolve!"
Vrrrmm!
The Mega Flashgold erupted with a dazzling display of colorful light, causing Jinghe's heart to race.
Indeed!
Dawu had found the Mega Stone for his Flashgold! And embedded in the brooch he had produced was the Keystone!
"Kangjin!!"
The Mega Flashgold was enveloped in a blinding light, rapidly transforming within its glow.
The X-shaped mark on its head grew more prominent, its eyes glowing red. The claws on its metallic arms extended, shimmering with a chilling aura.
An intense aura suddenly expanded, causing Du Juan and Yasha to shield their eyes, while Gigaforg shed tears of excitement.
Boom!!
The colorful light dissipated, scattering like stars.
Revealed before the trio was the Mega Flashgold!
"This is..." Jinghe murmured.
The XP system had evolved into the Super XP system?
Jinghe felt a sense of relief for some reason.
Dawu had finally "evolved" into this "invincible" form.
Johto was now secure.
"Kangjin!!"
The Mega Flashgold roared, exuding power.
This was the second Mega Evolution Jinghe had witnessed in the Pokemon world.
Dawu had indeed found the Mega Stone and Keystone after learning about their existence.
However, Professor Bratan had called Jinghe earlier that morning, informing her that he had prepared a preliminary paper on Mega Evolution.
It wouldn't be long before the Mega Evolution era swept the world.
Once again, a world where only Landshark's Bite would suffer.
"Hmm?" Gramps scratched his behind, pointing at the Mega Flashgold and asking the young ones.
"Charming~"
Gigaforg smacked his lips twice.
Sssss~ Charcoal Little Servant's Pokemon Egg gently rocked in his arms, seemingly surprised by Flashgold's transformation.
"Mega Flashgold? Did Dawu really find the Mega Stone for Flashgold?" Yasha exclaimed in shock.
Du Juan was equally astonished.
Amidst her surprise, a hint of confusion crept in.
"It feels a bit different from when Teacher's Gramps Mega Evolved, doesn't it?"
Yasha blinked.
She quickly realized the difference.
The commotion was much quieter! When Gramps Mega Evolved, they felt like the sky had darkened, and the aura and noise were overwhelming.
Although Dawu's Flashgold's Mega Evolution was also powerful, and the noise was not insignificant, it paled in comparison to Jinghe and Gramps' Mega Evolutions.
Vrrmm!
After a brief display, the Mega Flashgold's body shimmered with rainbow light, and the colorful energy gradually dissipated, returning it to its original form.
Dawu wiped his forehead.
He had only maintained the Mega Evolution for a short time, yet he felt exhausted.
If he were to endure an entire battle in this state, it would be a test for both Trainer and Pokemon.
It was a challenge not only physically but also mentally.
"How was it, Teacher?" Dawu asked, approaching with the Mega Flashgold, a hint of anticipation in his voice.
Jinghe smiled and patted the thick body of the Flashgold, saying, "It was great."
She recalled the first time she met Dawu; his Flashgold was merely a Swift Dragon, and even its personality had been a bit shy, timid, and insecure.
Now, it had finally achieved its "strongest form."
Dawu nodded.
In truth, this wasn't his first attempt at Mega Evolving with Flashgold.
So, he shared a similar confusion to that of Du Juan and Yasha.
Why was the noise of his Mega Evolution with the Gigaforg so different from that of Teacher Jinghe and Gramps's Mega Evolution? He even suspected there was an issue with him and the Gigaforg.
That's why he sought out Jinghe to have him take a look.
Now that he had Jinghe's confirmation, Dawu relaxed.
It wasn't an issue with their Mega Evolution, but rather that Teacher Jinghe's Mega Evolution was too loud.
According to Jinghe, Mega Evolution not only depended on the strength of the Pokemon but also on the bond between the Trainer and the Pokemon.
The stronger the bond, the greater the enhancement brought about by the evolution.
"Rotom, did you record it?" Jinghe asked.
"It's all recorded, Rotom!"
"Send a copy to Professor Blatanus."
"Understood, Rotom!"
After a moment,
"【Handsome and Powerful Dawu and Mega Gigaforg.avi】 sent, Rotom!"
Hmm? AVI?
Cough. Jinghe silently shook his head, pushing away some less-than-ideal thoughts.
"Such a good boy, Gigaforg," Jinghe patted the Gigaforg's head again.
Then, he channeled Wave Guide to perform a quick check on the Gigaforg's condition.
Overall, Dawu had trained it exceptionally well!
The minor psychological issue it had earlier was now completely resolved.
"Kangjin~o(////▽////)q"
The Gigaforg comfortably closed its eyes.
After that, the group engaged in their usual discussions about Pokemon training and battles.
Knowledge grew as they exchanged ideas.
January 7th, a clear day.
The start of the new year was always a time of relaxation.
Every day was either spent eating, sleeping, or battling Yasha, but it was still a fulfilling routine.
The cafe's business was also thriving.
Jinghe sometimes contemplated franchising but then remembered that the cafe's appeal lay in Nurse Joy and Creamy Frost, who couldn't be in two places at once. So, what was the point of a franchise?
Lying on a garden lounge chair, soaking in the winter sun.
"This is what life is about."
Two words stood out.
Comfortable~
Cozy~
After their regular training, the little Pokemon each went about their own activities.
Gramps was teaching Maxado the "Shadow Snatch," and to Maxado's surprise, Gramps managed to cobble together a workable technique, allowing Maxado to grasp some of its nuances.
Ice Nine-Tails was studying Weepinbell's "Ice Wall."
It believed that if "Ice Wall" and "Aurora Veil" could be perfectly combined, its defense would increase significantly.
Gigaforg researched Armor Crafting, while Swift Dragon held a fragment of the Emerald Orb, eyes closed, muttering to itself.
As for Bear Pupil, it was probably the only one, aside from Jinghe, who felt relaxed.
Even with persistent training, it spent most of its time sleeping.
After every high-intensity training session, it would wake up sore all over, leading the little Pokemon to suspect someone was "ambushing" it while it slept.
Charcoal Little Servant, on the other hand, held a thick book and was "educating" the Pokemon Egg before it.
Upon closer inspection, the book it held was "Earth's Esoteric Art."
After learning from Jinghe that the Pokemon Egg likely contained a Ground-type Pokemon, Charcoal Little Servant chose "Earth's Esoteric Art" over "Fear's Insights" and "Ice Wall."
Despite being a Fire-type Pokemon itself, which was weak to Ground-type moves, this didn't dampen Charcoal Little Servant's enthusiasm for "education."
The Pokemon Egg seemed to be "listening" intently, gently rocking back and forth.
"At least it's 'safer' than having Gramps do the educating," Jinghe thought, deciding not to interfere too much.
Ding-ding—
His phone suddenly rang.
When he looked at the caller ID, it was an unfamiliar number, and the number itself looked strange, twisted like a tadpole. He was about to hang up but, for some reason, pressed the answer button.
"Jinghe, Teacher Jinghe, you finally picked up!!!"
On the phone, Daye's voice was filled with anguish.
Daye?
Jinghe checked his phone again; he had clearly labeled Daye as "Exploding Head Monkey +3."
The first part was Daye's nickname, and the number after it represented Jinghe's "little notebook" count for Daye.
"It's nothing, hang up," Jinghe shook his head.
"No!!!"
Daye's voice on the phone sounded like he was screaming for his life.
"Don't hang up! If you do, I won't be able to reach you again!"
Hmm? "What do you mean?"
"Help me! Teacher Jinghe, I've been locked up somewhere, get me out of here!"
It was Daye asking for help?
And from his tone and demeanor, it didn't seem like he was faking it.
"I'm finally enjoying my vacation, so you better try to save yourself," Jinghe thought that with Daye's strength and the power of the Explosion in this world, there probably weren't many who could capture him.
"No! I haven't slept for three days! They won't let me sleep!" Daye shouted.
"They?"
"They keep shouting in my ear: You're just a monkey, you're just a monkey, you're just a monkey."
Jinghe: "."
