Chapter 374: When Are You Planning to Let Us Have a New Professor?
Chapter 374: When Are You Planning to Let Us Have a New Professor?
After a hurried dinner, Ivan followed everyone back to the Gryffindor common room.
Once in the dormitory, Ivan suddenly remembered something and took out the Invisibility Cloak he had gotten back from Hermione.
"Harry, your Invisibility Cloak! Thanks a lot, this thing really helped me out!"
At this point, Ivan felt a bit nostalgic.
If it weren't for the help of the Invisibility Cloak, it wouldn't have been so easy for him to deal with the invading Dark Wizards and Brock.
It seemed he had underestimated the power of this Deathly Hallow. When the other party wasn't specifically prepared, wearing the Invisibility Cloak for ambush and assassination was almost impossible to defend against.
"So you've finished what you needed to do, that quickly?" Harry was a bit surprised as he took the Invisibility Cloak back. He remembered that Ivan had borrowed it from him last night and hadn't shown any signs of going out all day.
"Yeah, just took care of some minor issues", Ivan didn't want to mention the Time Turner, so he spoke vaguely.
Seeing that Ivan didn't want to elaborate, Harry, although still curious, eventually shook his head and didn't press further.
At this moment, Ivan's gaze fell on Scabbers, the gray-black rat that was still dozing on Ron's bed.
Perhaps sensing some malevolence, Peter Pettigrew suddenly woke up from his sleep, looking around suspiciously but finding nothing out of the ordinary. However, he felt a vague sense of unease.
I can't stay here anymore; I have to leave tonight.
Peter was just thinking this when the entire rat suddenly froze.
Wait, haven't I said this before?
In the middle of the night, Peter, who was trying to sneak out, was caught again.
Ivan held the now unconscious gray-black rat, stroking his chin in puzzlement. He no longer needed a "lab rat" for experiments, so why was Peter still so eager to run out?
Had he become addicted to being a lab rat?
The next afternoon,
After finishing Potions Class, Ivan and the others headed to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
On the way, Harry and Ron were discussing the House Points that Snape had deducted, and for some reason, they seemed oddly cheerful.
"I bet Snape didn't realize we had no points left to deduct", Harry said with a smile, having lost twenty points to Snape today.
Ron also laughed, curious to see Snape's reaction when he saw the empty Gryffindor Points Board.
Ivan looked at their happy faces with a peculiar expression. Was this something to be glad about?
When everyone settled into the classroom, Professor Lupin, their new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, finally arrived, a bit late.
After a month and a half, Lupin looked much better, though he was still dressed in his tattered robes. He placed his old, worn-out trunk on the desk and smiled gently.
"Good afternoon, everyone! I am your new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and you can call me Professor Lupin!"
Pausing, Lupin looked around the room and saw that all the young wizards were holding thick textbooks. He continued,
"Today's lesson will be a practical one, so please put your textbooks back in your bags. You only need your wands!"
"Now, follow me, let's go to a wider space!" Lupin picked up the old suitcase from the table and gestured for everyone to follow.
The young wizards below were both excited and anxious. If they could wave their wands, no one would want to sit in the classroom and listen to a lecture.
But Professor Lockhart had set a very bad example last year, turning everything into a mess, leaving everyone with some lingering trauma.
"I hope he's not like Lockhart", Seamus whispered to the wizard next to him.
However, Lupin seemed to have heard him and suddenly turned his head. Seamus was startled, his face turning pale.
Lupin just smiled at him and said nothing, then led the group of young wizards through the empty corridor, around a corner, and to a classroom door.
But the mischievous Peeves was blocking the door, hanging upside down and stuffing gum into the nearest keyhole.
It wasn't until the group got close that Peeves noticed something was wrong. He looked up and saw Lupin, his smile turning malicious. He floated up into the air, clapping his hands and singing loudly.
"Clueless Lupin, mad fool!"
Seeing Peeves actually dare to challenge the new professor, everyone was quite surprised, eagerly waiting to see how Professor Lupin would deal with the annoying Peeves!
"Peeves! If I were you, I would take the gum out of the keyhole!" Lupin still had a friendly smile, speaking in a gentle tone. "This way, Mr. Filch can't get in to get his broom."
Peeves made a face, ignoring him. He and Filch never got along.
The only reason he would cause a commotion when catching rule-breakers was to attract Filch's attention, but he enjoyed tormenting the little brats more, watching them panic and playing hide-and-seek with them.
Peeves glanced at the crowd and saw Ivan, his eyes lighting up. He shouted loudly.
"And you, Hals! Can you tell us? When do you plan to get us a new professor this time?"
Lupin's expression changed slightly, glancing at Ivan subconsciously.
Ivan was also somewhat annoyed by Peeves and suggested, "Professor, I think your first lesson could be teaching us how to deal with a troublemaker like Peeves. I'm sure everyone would be very interested!"
Hearing this, the young wizards all looked at Peeves with malicious intent. Most of the Gryffindor lions had been pranked by Peeves before.
"Of course, no problem!" Peeves' words had slightly angered Lupin, the kind-hearted professor. He went along with Ivan's suggestion and said to everyone, "I know a very useful spell for this situation."
The smug Peeves' face turned sour, and he screamed, then hurriedly flew away.
But it was too late. Lupin swiftly raised his wand and pointed it at Peeves, shouting loudly.
"Waddiwasi!"
The gum that had been blocking the keyhole flew out and shot into Peeves' left nostril, making him stumble and panic, darting around the corridor.
The other students followed suit, raising their wands and shouting in unison.
"Waddiwasi!"
