Chapter 370: Not a Single Normal Person
Chapter 370: Not a Single Normal Person
After leaving the Headmaster's Office, Kyle didn't go straight to Hagrid's class. Instead, he went to the kitchen and asked the house-elves to buy some things for him.
Specifically, the furniture and decorations for Professor Lupin's office.
Although there were spare items in the storage room or the Room of Requirement, Kyle decided to buy new ones instead.
Professor Lupin had tried to cover for him, even though it didn't work out, but at least he made an effort... Kyle didn't feel right using old stuff to make do.
Anyway, the new furniture wasn't expensive, just a few coins worth of amulets.
The house-elves returned in the evening, and Professor Lupin's office was transformed with new furniture, making him look a little awkward and cautious, afraid of knocking into anything.
Kyle bought candies with the remaining coins and gave them to the house-elves as a thank-you gift. The elves were delighted and brought various snacks to stuff into Kyle's pockets.
When he returned to the Common Room, his pockets were bulging as if he had two Quaffles in them.
Initially, Kyle thought the matter would be over by now.
However, just a day later, on Friday morning, the news of him blowing up Professor Lupin's office with a Boggart spread among the young witches and wizards.
"There are no secrets in Hogwarts," Kyle sighed as he sat by the dining table, taking a sip of Pumpkin Juice.
In less than half an hour, over a dozen students had come to ask him about the details of the incident.
Fortunately, they didn't know it was the Inferno Charm, assuming it was a powerful Flame Charm instead.
"Hey, Kyle, is it true?"
Fred and George approached, leaning on each other's shoulders.
"It's so touching," Fred sat beside him, exaggerating his expression.
George squeezed out two tears, "I heard you saw us dead, and that's why you blew up the Boggart."
"I didn't know you cared so much..."
"It's just that there's one more person in the way..." George glanced at Cedric, who was eating stew, "Why is he here too!"
"Is this a good thing?" Cedric said helplessly.
Seeing Fred and George's behavior made it seem like they were fighting over Quidditch tickets... It was strange that they were complaining about an extra death, as if they were vying for a death spot.
"But with you added, we don't know who the dead person is!" Fred stated matter-of-factly.
"Nearly Headless Nick only mentioned two people, you and one of us," George added.
"We argued about it all night..."
"Wait," Kyle interrupted them, "You said Nearly Headless Nick?"
"Yeah," Fred nodded, "He said he was thinking about something and floated into the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, witnessing the whole thing."
Kyle understood.
He had always found it strange that only he and Professor Lupin were in the office at the time, and others only arrived after the incident. Logically, no one should know about the Boggart.
But the details they spread were incredibly thorough, missing only the part where Professor Lupin gave him money. It was as if they were standing right there, witnessing everything.
Kyle had assumed it was a professor who let it slip, not expecting it to be Nearly Headless Nick.
And he was right there beside them.
"So, Kyle..." Fred stared intently at him, "Who is that person, me or George?"
"This is important!" George joined in.
Cedric watched the two, his eyes twitching. He could swear these two were never this serious, not even during their final exams.
"You two have done well." Kyle couldn't be bothered to pay attention to them, and said casually, "Nearly Headless Nick made a mistake. There were actually three people, but he didn't see the other one."
"Really?" George was a little skeptical.
"Yes." Kyle nodded, "If you don't believe me, you can ask Professor Lupin. He saw it."
Fred and George stared at Kyle for a while, and only after confirming that he wasn't lying did they return to the Gryffindor table, feeling satisfied and starting to show off.
Envious voices could be heard all around.
"I really don't understand what they're so happy about." Not far away, Hermione slammed her book shut with a snap.
It was too noisy for her to concentrate.
"You're right," Ron agreed, nodding beside her. "And it was just a Boggart. Was it necessary to make such a fuss? A simple little spell could have solved it."
Ron looked very happy, as this was the first time he felt he had surpassed Kyle, and in studies no less.
But the next second, Harry poured cold water on his excitement.
"But you have to admit that Kyle's method was effective and definitely faster than ours."
Harry poured himself a glass of pumpkin juice. "Do you remember what Nearly Headless Nick said? The Boggart was instantly defeated, leaving nothing behind."
"It was just a Flame Charm, and I know it too. I just didn't think of it at the time." Ron muttered.
Hermione frowned beside him. The book didn't mention that the Flame Charm could be used to deal with Boggarts.
And she didn't think that Professor Dumbledore would deduct 100 points from Hufflepuff just because of a simple spell.

On the other side, just as Fred and George left, Conna's head suddenly popped up from the side.
"What about me? Where am I?"
Kyle raised his hand expressionlessly and pushed her head to the side.
"You're not in it. Go play somewhere else and don't join in on everything!"
Then he turned to Autumn, who was eager to try, "You too..."
"Hmph!"
"Tsk!"
The two of them looked unhappy, feeling slighted and unfairly treated.
They were all friends, Cedric, Fred, and George were there, but not them. Wasn't this unfair? Autumn huffed and pulled Conna away to the Ravenclaw table.
Kyle felt a toothache coming on.
He didn't understand either. What was so great about this that they had to force their way in?
Fred and George were fine, as they were usually unreliable and their focus was often different from others. It wasn't surprising if they did something outrageous.
But how did Autumn and Conna become like this?
Was there really not a single normal person around him? Oh, wait, there was one... Kyle turned to look at Cedric.
Noticing his gaze, Cedric, who was eating pumpkin pie, hesitated for a moment before asking quietly, "How did I die?"
"You were stuffed to death by pumpkin pie!" Kyle sneered.
Alright, there wasn't a single normal person around him.
"Ha, that's impossible..."
Cedric obviously didn't believe Kyle's words and waved his hand dismissively. "You must be joking."
But as he looked at the half-eaten pumpkin pie in his hand, he quietly pushed it aside and picked up a baked potato instead.
...
The number of people around them kept increasing, and everyone seemed to want to get first-hand information from Kyle.
Fortunately, the messengers arrived at this moment.
A large group of owls flew into the Great Hall, delivering letters and packages to everyone.
As everyone read their letters, Kyle quickly finished the last piece of pumpkin pie and hurriedly left the Great Hall.
