After tidying up the room, the students found themselves with some free time. The Order of the Phoenix believed that the life-and-death battles ahead were too dangerous for underage students to participate in. Compared to the Order of the Phoenix, Voldemort’s forcing Draco Malfoy to kill Dumbledore seemed even more evil.
With nothing much to do, Liam and the others naturally focused on completing their homework. Even in the dire situation at Hogwarts, classes continued, and participating in battles against the Dark Lord did not excuse them from their assignments.
However, for Liam and Hermione, the homework wasn’t particularly challenging. In just over a week, they had completed all their assignments. After that, they began crafting Magic Artifacts and Potions for the Order of the Phoenix as a form of support.
Additionally, when Sirius Black learned about the content of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, he became quite interested. Liam and the Weasley Twins convinced Sirius to invest Galleons and some of the Black family’s knowledge into the store. In return, Liam and the Weasley Twins each gave Sirius 10% of their shares.
After receiving his shares, Sirius turned around and gave 5% to Lupin. So now, Lupin had a formal job: designing Gold Coins for Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
As a former Prefect and the brains behind the Marauders, as well as the creator of the Marauder's Map, Lupin was highly skilled in Magic Artifact creation and full of creative ideas. Even with his duties to Dumbledore, he managed to help the Weasley Twins complete their research on a defensive suit during his brief breaks.
Ron and Ginny, after completing their homework, helped Liam and the others. For the Weasley siblings, who were born into the wizarding world, being allowed to observe an Alchemist at work was a fortunate opportunity. Liam would often share a bit of knowledge with them, ensuring they gained something valuable each time they helped.
Once everything was running smoothly, Liam decided to open the next world. Fortunately, the manor had been cleaned up, and there were enough empty rooms for everyone to have their own space. This also made it convenient for him to visit the Multiverse General Store.
During this time, a few customers visited the Multiverse General Store, but they all came from modern drama worlds. The Rose Crystal alone could handle these visitors, and the abilities they offered, such as programming and clerical skills, were not particularly valuable. However, since they only asked for gold, the Rose Crystal agreed to the exchanges.
"No valuable customers at all", the Rose Crystal pouted as she said this. Liam found her increasingly human, which was probably the soul completion process Teacher Luo Zhen had mentioned.
"Hey, Big Brother, what kind of world are we going to this time?" The Rose Crystal quickly adjusted her mood and tilted her head playfully.
"I think we need a stronger world this time", Liam said, looking at the Rose Crystal. "In my battle with Voldemort, I realized I lack a decisive skill. I hope to find a powerful world to further enhance my combat abilities."
With that, Liam walked to the store’s entrance, placed his hands on the door, and injected 64 Deviation Points. As the frame filled with blue light, Liam, with the Rose Crystal perched on his shoulder, stepped into the level seven world.
The portal’s exit was in a forest, a place Liam couldn’t immediately recognize. Forests were so common that it seemed nine out of ten worlds had one.
"Let’s explore a bit. We might find a familiar place", Liam said to the Rose Crystal on his shoulder, and they began to wander through the woods.
This forest was vast, almost rivaling the size of the Grass Sea from before. Liam and Rose Crystal quickly became disoriented as they wandered through the woods. As they passed a cluster of trees, they heard rustling sounds nearby, and soon several large Spiders emerged from the underbrush.
Liam sensed the dark power emanating from them, as well as their stark contrast with the surrounding natural environment. This reminded him of the Acromantula he had nearly cleared out from the Forbidden Forest. So when these Spiders lunged at them, Liam effortlessly used Shadow Magic to dispatch them.
However, it seemed they were heading in the wrong direction, as the number of Spiders seemed to increase the further they went. Eventually, the ground on both sides of their path was littered with the bodies of countless dead Spiders.
Just as Liam was about to pull out his broom and make a run for it in the sky, an arrow whizzed past him, killing a Spider that was trying to emerge from the nearby brush. At the same time, a voice called out from ahead, "Hurry up and keep moving forward, we'll hold off the Spiders."
"Don't worry, we can take care of these Spiders. We were just lost and didn't know which way to go", Liam said as he cast a Chain Lightning spell, frying a dozen Spiders into charred remains. Meanwhile, Rose Crystal released a barrage of purple Crystal needles, which, upon hitting the Spiders' eyes, shattered and moved erratically at high speed, thoroughly destroying their internal organs. Each Spider hit by the needles quickly convulsed and fell to the ground.
Soon, Liam and Rose Crystal reached the spot where the voice had come from. There, they discovered a fully armed squad armed with bows and arrows, each member holding a knife and watching them warily.
"Legolas?" Seeing the familiar handsome face of the squad leader and his distinctive attire, Liam immediately recognized that he was in Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings.
Recently, Mirkwood had been plagued by an increasing number of large Spiders. The Elves living there had repeatedly tried to clear them out, but no matter how many they eliminated, more Spiders always seemed to infiltrate from outside.
In this situation, the Elves organized many squads to patrol the forest continuously, keeping the number of large Spiders within a safe range. As a prince, it was Legolas's duty to lead these patrols and protect the people, not to mention that patrolling allowed him to avoid his father Thranduil's watchful eye and spend time with his squad leader, Tauriel. So, while most Elves viewed this as a tedious task, Legolas enjoyed it.
After clearing a wave of Spiders and preparing to move to another location, Legolas noticed two humans standing in an area infested with Spiders. Out of kindness, he shouted a warning to them and shot an arrow, killing a Spider that was too close to the humans.
However, he was surprised to see that these two humans possessed great power and quickly cleared all the Spiders around them. As they approached, he and his squad members drew their weapons warily. But they were even more surprised when the boy called out Legolas's name.
"How do you know my name?" Legolas asked, holding his knife warily.
"I am a traveler from other worlds and learned of your existence through certain special means", Liam explained truthfully, even though it sounded incredible. This world had many powerful beings, and someone like Gandalf, a Maia, might be able to sense something from Liam. To avoid any potential issues, it was better to be honest. After all, Elves were generally benevolent and wouldn't kill indiscriminately.
This answer left Legolas somewhat bewildered, but he still asked dutifully, "Why have you come to our world?"
"I am a Scholar of Wizardry and also a Merchant with resources from several worlds. I hope to exchange knowledge and resources with you."
"Very well—come with me to the Elven King's Hall. I must inform my father of this", Legolas said after a moment's thought, though he seemed reluctant.
"Sure thing", Liam replied happily, as he had always wanted to visit the famous Elven King's Hall since he first saw it in the movies.
