Chapter 367 Dragon Oath Mage (Part 2)
At this, Kai Xiusu slightly turned his neck and asked, “Then why do you think I’d even bother helping you?”
Misha answered seriously, “Because you’re a good man.”
“A good man?” Kai Xiusu burst into laughter—guffaws that rang out like he’d just heard the funniest joke in the world.
But Misha’s tone was utterly devoid of humor.
In the ten years since arriving in this world, he had been called countless names—Evil Dragon, Butcher, Tyrant, Destroyer, even Divine Being—but never once had anyone called him a “good man.”
The Red Dragon rose to his feet, spreading his broad wings with a shake, his gaze fixed with interest on Misha in the distance.
“Why do you say that?” he asked. “Don’t you fear I could be just like Leo Bosk—a man who hides behind noble masks?”
Misha flinched, but still managed to reply, “No. You’re not like that.”
“You’re… different.”
“Different how?” Kai Xiusu pressed.
Misha paused, reflecting deeply, before continuing. “My grandfather, Old John, once told me you’re the finest lord in all of Anzeta. Even though you’re a dragon, you’re more like a true noble than any of those so-called nobles ever were.”
“Oh?” The Red Dragon tilted his head slightly.
“He used to tell me that under the rule of the Northern Nobles, he never had enough to eat and constantly feared freezing or starving to death in winter. But under your domain, he could eat his fill—and still had enough left over to feed me.”
“And… if it weren’t for you, I might have ended up as a slave for one of those nobles. He wouldn’t have found me. He wouldn’t have raised me.”
Misha’s words were simple, raw, yet carried an undeniable sincerity.
The Red Dragon nodded, his expression flickering with something complex.
Kai Xiusu had never truly cared for the suffering of the Northern people. He’d only ever seen their subjugation as a means to build a new order—more efficient, more powerful, more conducive to his own rise in strength and dominion.
But now… the benefits were already becoming clear.
Kai Xiusu took a few slow steps forward. “Misha, I admire you.”
“So… what do you want? Something strong enough to kill Leo Bosk?”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“I want to kill him with my own hands.”
Misha declared with unwavering resolve, her brown eyes flaring once more with a flicker of flame-light.
But then came a question that caught her completely off guard.
Kai Xiusu stared at her with his pale golden irises.
“So… what then?”
“What will you do after revenge is complete?”
“I… I…” Misha faltered, stunned.
She was still just a child—though gifted with an uncanny maturity. She had never truly thought about what came after.
She fell into silence, memories of the past flashing through her mind like scenes on a passing carousel.
—Old John teaching her how to speak.
—Playing in the alleys of Northwind Keep.
—Studying at the temporary schools the kingdom had opened.
—Witnessing Old John’s death in the Magul Incident.
—Receiving help from Chief Minister Lanpu.
All the way to this moment—standing before the King of the Burnt.
She wondered—what if she had been sold into slavery, as she nearly was?
Given her knowledge of nobles, she could only imagine the endless suffering that awaited.
Suddenly, Misha realized: the Red Dragon and his kingdom had changed her life.
If Old John were still alive, he’d have made sure she had a place in this realm.
“King Kai Xiusu bless this trade,”
“King Kai Xiusu protect the war,”
“King Kai Xiusu…”
Old John’s endless murmurs echoed in her mind again.
The laughter of the caravan merchants rang in her ears.
She remembered being abandoned, sold, discarded.
Old John was her only family.
The kingdom was her only home.
Tears welled in her eyes, but she lifted her head with quiet determination, her voice soft but resolute.
“Your Majesty… I wish to serve the kingdom forever. To repay your kindness.”
And Old John’s debt too, she added silently in her heart.
“Good,” Kai Xiusu said, nodding once more. He spread his massive wings, casting a towering shadow across the chamber.
“I do not begrudge strength to those loyal to the realm—especially not to someone as exceptional as you.”
He spoke softly, commanding, “Close your eyes.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Misha obediently shut her eyes.
The Red Dragon let out a low, resonant roar. A stream of scorching white smoke poured from his maw.
From pores along his neck and tail burst dazzling flames. The Dragon Crystal on his chest blazed with blinding radiance, warping the air with heat.
For such a rare and legendary potential—this child of elemental destiny—Kai Xiusu wished to pour every ounce of strength into her, forging a new faction subclass.
【Bloodline Gift】
A torrent of raw, terrifying energy—like a glowing thread of light—flowed into Misha’s small body.
The seed representing ancestral dragon strength merged with her blood, embedding itself into her lineage. It triggered a complete, life-tier ascension.
At the same time, it bound her strength to the Red Dragon’s, forming a pact-like connection.
“Ah—!” Misha gasped, her face turning pale, sweat pouring from every pore. Then, the moisture was instantly vaporized.
Though she was a rare “Child of the Elements” by constitution, even she struggled under the Red Dragon’s scorching flame.
Kai Xiusu did not fully Dragonize her. She was still a child—her body and willpower too fragile to endure the agony of complete transformation.
Moreover, he had other plans—for a new kind of class.
So he channeled the bestowed strength deep within her, transforming her blood vessels into conduits of magical power—basal vessels pulsing with energy. Her heart slowly reshaped, becoming a seething, living dragon heart—hot, alive, and powerful.
As the strength flowed, a crimson pact sigil began to form on Misha’s back—a magical weave, born of natural magic.
“Ah—!”
The runes flared violently.
With a scream, Misha’s entire body erupted in intense fire. The latent strength within her natural talent exploded under the spark of dragon blood, unleashing the terrifying power of her past self—“Madfire Witch.”
Had Kai Xiusu not restrained her, the flames might have spread for kilometers, possibly destroying an entire city.
The bestowal lasted nearly thirty minutes. During that time, Misha screamed in agony, eventually losing consciousness. She collapsed to the floor, her clothes reduced to ash.
Her appearance had changed under the influence of the Red Dragon’s bloodline.
Her once-brown eyes now held dark golden vertical pupils. Scales faintly shimmered beneath her forehead. Tiny, thumb-sized dragon horns sprouted from her crown.
Crimson, intricate patterns bloomed across her back and neck. Her eyes glowed with a faint ember-like hue.
Yet despite this transformation, she still retained the basic form of a human—far more human than the half-dragons of the Crimson Scale Conquerors, far more in line with human beauty.
Kai Xiusu folded his wings, standing silently, watching the unconscious Misha.
“This feeling…”
“It’s like sealing a pact.”

Kai Xiusu stared at the crimson, pact-like markings across Misha’s back, feeling the power of the bond—how strength flowed between them, not through force, but through oath.
