Chapter 367: Don't Mess with Witch's Family (6000+)
Chapter 367: Don't Mess with Witch's Family (6000+)
"You should know where Mr. Pierce's office is, right? Let's take care of this leader first, and then clear out the other Hydra spies."
Seeing Nick Fury and the others walk through the portal, Jerry suggested.
"Pierce's office is forty floors below us, but before we go, let me take care of one thing first."
Nick Fury walked to the desk and pressed a button, ordering:
"Connect the intercom to all rooms in the building."
"Command rejected!"
A mechanical female voice responded.
"Director authorization, Nicholas J. Fury."
"Authorization failed, your access has been revoked!"
The mechanical female voice repeated.
"That old bastard Pierce, he removed my access so quickly. Luckily, I have a backup plan."
Hearing the report of his access being revoked, Nick Fury cursed under his breath, then removed the eye patch from his left eye and placed his blind eye on the retinal scanner on the desk.
Immediately, the mechanical female voice replied:
"A-level authorization, following your command!"
Hearing his access restored, Nick Fury repeated his initial order, confirmed the connection, and began speaking seriously:
"Attention all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, this is your Director, Nick Fury. I am not dead.
Listen carefully, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been completely infiltrated by Hydra. Anyone around you could be a Hydra spy.
So, your job is to trust no one, follow no orders, and protect your own safety. The rest, Witch, Captain America, and I will handle.
I repeat, do not follow any orders, even if it's from your most trusted superior, because they could also be a Hydra spy!"
Nick Fury's intention was simple: to prevent true S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from being misled into attacking them, avoiding friendly fire, and ensuring they are not killed by Hydra spies while unprepared.
Although Pierce had removed his access, he was still the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the eyes of the true agents.
Therefore, any genuine S.H.I.E.L.D. agents would no longer accept any orders, and those who came to attack or obstruct them could be treated as Hydra spies.
"I've always wanted to ask, with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s technology, can't your eye be cured?"
Jerry looked at Nick Fury as he opened the eye patch, revealing the completely white eyeball, and asked curiously.
Nick Fury put the eye patch back on:
"Have you heard of the Parasite Beast? An extremely powerful alien creature. I lost my eye in a battle with one when I was young. Earth's technology can't heal it."
"You fought an alien creature?"
Captain America's face showed surprise.
Nick Fury said seriously:
"Do you think I would be so eager to develop powerful weapons or be swayed by Pierce to initiate the Insight Program for no reason?
It's because I've known for a long time that there are Kree, Skrulls, Soul Devourers, and other far more powerful aliens beyond Earth.
And not all of them are as friendly as E.T.!"
"Alright, I think we should hurry, or Mr. Pierce might escape, and that would be a problem!"
Jerry wasn't worried about Nick Fury's concerns. Earth was one of the Nine Realms, the center of Yggdrasil, and Odin would not allow aliens to invade en masse.
Besides, there was the Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One, and Kamar-Taj to protect it.
However, there were some things he couldn't openly share with Nick Fury, as the Ancient One had mentioned that the existence of Kamar-Taj should not be known to ordinary people.
Leaving the Director's office, the group headed directly to the Chairman's office forty floors below.
Along the way, they encountered Hydra spies and the building's internal defense systems, but Jerry's Stunning Spells, Full Body Bind Curses, and Explosion Charms easily neutralized them, leaving Captain America and the others without the need to intervene.
Thanks to Jerry, their progress was almost uninterrupted until they reached the Chairman's office floor, where the situation changed.
In the wide hallway, at least fifty Hydra agents blocked Jerry's path.
Unlike the Hydra agents he had encountered before, these fifty agents wore all-black combat suits made of an unknown material and wore specialized helmets.
"Stupefy!"
Jerry cast a few Sleeping Charms, but the blue magical energy hit the black-uniformed Hydra agents and seemed to have no effect, as if it had failed.
"Jerry, they’re wearing Anti-Wizard Suits. Your Magic might not be able to harm them!"
At that moment, Nick Fury, standing behind Jerry, hurriedly reminded him.
"Anti-Wizard Suits?"
Jerry was taken aback upon hearing the name.
Nick Fury, looking a bit embarrassed, explained:
"Because of your performance in New York, the members of the Security Council were a bit afraid. They approved a special fund for us at S.H.I.E.L.D. to come up with a way to counter your Magic.
After extensive research by our top scientists, combining Earth's technology with some Kree alien technology and some rare materials obtained through special channels, we managed to create fifty Anti-Wizard Suits at great expense.
These suits can withstand high-temperature flame damage, high-intensity shock damage, and can absorb and isolate any energy or light that hits them to a certain extent. The downside is that they have weak physical defense capabilities."
After listening to Nick Fury's explanation, Jerry raised an eyebrow and replied irritably:
"Do you know what? I really want to give you a big watermelon to chew on right now!"
He could guess that not only the Security Council but possibly Fury himself felt his power was too strong and needed a way to counter it, leading to the creation of these so-called "Anti-Wizard Suits."
Now, they had all fallen into Hydra's hands.
To be honest, Jerry wasn't too concerned. While the Anti-Wizard Suits could block some of his Magic, especially powerful spells like Dragonfire and lightning, they were far from enough to stop him. Jerry knew too many different types of Magic.
"Armor Shield!"
He used an iron armor spell to block the dense barrage of bullets coming from the other side. Then, Jerry lightly stomped his foot:
"Carpet Sand!"
The smooth, hard metal floor instantly became extremely soft and sticky, almost like a swamp.
The fifty Hydra agents wearing Anti-Wizard Suits were gradually sucked into the ground, struggling uselessly. No matter how they fought or attacked the ground with their weapons, it was to no avail.
Finally, when all the Hydra agents in the Anti-Wizard Suits had disappeared, Jerry stomped his foot again, restoring the ground to its normal state.
As a Mage, a master-level Mage proficient in the Magic of four worlds, Jerry knew far too many spells of various functions.
If someone tried to develop a way to counter his Magic, they would find it absolutely impossible.
"Alohomora!"
Standing at the door marked "Security Council Chairman", Jerry casually cast an Alohomora spell.
"Truly impressive, renowned Witch. The specially developed suits meant to counter you had no effect at all!"
Pierce, who had been watching the situation through the surveillance cameras, showed no signs of panic as Jerry and Nick Fury entered the office. He stood up calmly.
"Damn it, you’ve lost completely. Hydra has lost. Most of the Hydra agents in the building have been taken care of by Jerry. I guarantee you’ll spend the rest of your life in prison."
Nick Fury immediately cursed upon seeing Pierce, pointing at him angrily.
Before the truth was revealed, Nick Fury had trusted Pierce completely. After all, the director had been chosen by him, and over the years, Pierce had helped him secure countless powers and benefits from the Security Council.
A true mentor and friend.
The more he had trusted Pierce, the more he now hated him. If not for the desire to uproot the entire Hydra organization through Pierce, he would have shot him on the spot.
"Fury, don’t be so agitated. Our goals have always been the same. S.H.I.E.L.D. is Hydra, and Hydra is S.H.I.E.L.D. There’s no need to be so angry. We’re both protecting this world. When I proposed the Insight Program, you were very supportive."
Pierce continued to speak with feigned sincerity.
Nick Fury grew even angrier:
"S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mission is to protect the people, to protect humanity, while Hydra is only interested in dictatorship, power, and ambition!"
"Fury, by implementing the Insight Program and eliminating those twenty million potential threats, I can save the remaining seven billion people. Be bold, take this step; it’s the right decision."
"Damn, twenty million? This Pierce is ruthless!"
Upon hearing that Pierce planned to use the Insight Program to eliminate twenty million people, Jerry's eyes lit up instantly.
Originally, he thought that killing a few hundred thousand would be a big deal, but he never imagined the number would multiply several times over. At this rate, it would be unreasonable for the reward in red stars not to increase several times as well.
His intuition told him that he was about to become extremely wealthy.
"How come Witch seems so happy?"
Black Widow nudged Coulson beside her, somewhat puzzled.
As a skilled spy, Black Widow was exceptionally adept at reading people's expressions, so she naturally didn't miss Jerry's change in demeanor.
"Maybe he feels that the situation is about to be resolved, and he can go back to class!"
Coulson shrugged.
"I won't take another step. Now, I'm arresting you, Pierce!"
Nick Fury was completely unaffected by Pierce's attempts to manipulate him and took a step forward to apprehend him.
Pierce, however, remained calm and turned to look at Jerry.
"Witch, take them all down!"
Jerry: "Are you out of your mind?"
Hearing Pierce's command, Jerry immediately felt that the other party must be at the end of their rope and had lost it, to the point of giving orders to an enemy.
Seeing everyone looking at him as if he were an idiot, Pierce reached out and pressed a button on the table.
Immediately, a video appeared on the wall of the office.
The video had two screens. On the left, a police car was driving on a deserted road, driven by a man in his late thirties. On the right, a girl around thirteen or fourteen, with a school backpack, was riding a pink bicycle at high speed.
"Your father, Hass Witt, and your sister, Elsa Hawthorne. Don't even think about attacking me. See the sensor in my ear? If anything happens to me, they will take action. I can't guarantee your father and sister's safety then.
Also, I know you can teleport, but the moment you disappear, I will give the order. You can't be in two places at once.
So, Witch, you know what to do. You don't want anything to happen to your father and sister, do you?"
Pierce pointed to the screen, a smug smile on his face.
For the possibility of Witch turning against him, he had prepared two contingencies.
The first was the use of the Anti-Wizard Suit, which unfortunately didn't have much effect. The second was to ambush a large number of agents along the daily routes of Witch's closest family members.
Since Witch's home was fortified with various magical defenses, he decided to set up the ambush on the routes his family members took when they left home.
This would be the best way to restrain Witch in case of any situation.
"Snap!"
Just as Pierce finished his threat, an invisible blade sliced through his sensor, cutting it into two pieces that fell to the ground.
It was Jerry who had casually thrown a Sectumsempra.
Seeing the earpiece break and fall, Pierce's eyes instantly turned panicked.
"What are you doing? Didn't you hear what I said? If I lose the connection, they will act immediately. Breaking the sensor won't help!"
He thought the other party hadn't understood his explanation.
However, Jerry smiled.
"I heard you, and I did it on purpose. I just want to tell you that my family isn't as easy to touch as you think. The ones who will suffer are you!"
Queens, New York, 8:30 AM.
Hass waved goodbye to Belle, whose belly was slightly rounded, and left the villa.
Hass's police station and Aisha's school were in different directions, so they parted ways after leaving the villa, with Hass driving to the left and Aisha cycling to the right.
Last year, Hass would drive Aisha to school first before heading to the police station. This year, Aisha suddenly decided to exercise and started riding her bicycle to school every day.
Hass thought it was fine; exercise was never a bad thing for a child.
Today, as usual, he drove directly toward the police station, not driving too fast. Since becoming the chief, his life had become much more relaxed.
However, just as he was about to turn out of the villa area and onto the highway, the black car in front of him suddenly stopped.
Seeing that he was about to collide, he quickly hit the brakes, barely avoiding an accident.
As he was about to get out to check on the situation, he suddenly sensed something was off.
Several more cars of the same model quickly appeared, surrounding his police car.
"What's going on?"
Confused, he watched as the doors of the surrounding cars opened, and about thirty bulky men rushed to his car, raising their rifles and aiming through the window, shouting:
"Mr. Hass Witt, please get out of the car immediately!"
Faced with dozens of bulky men and their well-equipped rifles, Hass swallowed hard.
Although he didn't understand why, as the police chief, he would be ambushed on the road in broad daylight, he had no choice but to comply with the situation.
The car windows of the police car couldn't withstand the gunfire from the dozens of large-caliber rifles.
However, just as he was about to open the door to get out, Has suddenly noticed that his old police car had undergone an unexpected transformation. The ordinary seats had instantly turned into a high-tech cockpit.
At the same time, a highly advanced helmet popped out from the flat car roof and landed on his head.
"Steel Cannon at your service!"
A strange voice echoed in Has's ears from the helmet.
Has looked around in confusion and shouted loudly:
"Who is it? Who’s talking?"
"Hello, Mr. Has. I am an intelligent combat mech from the 318 star system. I accidentally ended up on Earth and have been disguised as a regular car. After spending a long time with you, I've developed a bond and decided to help you when I saw you in danger."
Steel Cannon recited the new lines its owner had written.
The gist was that it was an alien intelligent combat mech that had accidentally landed on Earth and had been disguised as a regular police car. Due to the long time spent with Has, it had developed a sense of camaraderie and decided to help him when it saw him in danger.
If it were anyone else, they might not have believed such an outlandish explanation, but as a sci-fi enthusiast, Has immediately believed it.
He began to ask Steel Cannon excitedly how to operate the mech in combat.
The combat operation was simple: once Has put on the helmet, he could control the mech with his thoughts.
Meanwhile, from the perspective of the Hydra agents outside, Has's police car transformed in less than a second, much like a Transformer, from an old police car into a massive robot about seven to eight meters tall. The robot held a large knife in its right hand, a heavy shield in its left hand, and had a massive machine gun on its left shoulder and a large rocket launcher on its right shoulder.
"Attack, attack!"
Although the Hydra team captain couldn't understand the bizarre phenomenon, he immediately issued the order to attack.
Instantly, a barrage of bullets rained down on the giant robot.
At first, the robot seemed a bit stunned, but it quickly reacted, raising its heavy shield to block the bullets and swinging its massive, sharp knife with its other hand. The powerful force sent the surrounding cars flying, crashing into the attacking Hydra agents.
Then, it raised its large feet and began a wild stomping and kicking spree. The remaining Hydra agents couldn't resist and were quickly defeated.
Hearing the distant sirens, Has, inside Steel Cannon, thought for a moment and then controlled Steel Cannon to leap several dozen meters high, disappearing in an instant.
As soon as Steel Cannon vanished, a house-elf, who had been hiding nearby, quickly appeared and used magic to restore the battlefield to its normal state.
It turned out that while Jerry's magical abilities were steadily improving, he hadn't forgotten to enhance the safety of his family. He had spent a lot of time upgrading Has's Steel Cannon.
The most significant upgrade was changing the original Bodyguard mode to a combat mech mode that allowed Has to control it from inside.
First, it was safer to hide inside the mech, and second, considering Has's interests, personally driving and fighting would be more enjoyable.
To be honest, this crucial upgrade didn’t require any groundbreaking magic. It involved using the Traceless Extension Charm to expand a spatial area inside Steel Cannon and then using alchemy to create a helmet with Legilimency capabilities, which was connected to Steel Cannon.
This way, Steel Cannon could read Has's thoughts and act according to his wishes, while Has felt like his thoughts were directly controlling the mech.
The experience was quite exhilarating.
Meanwhile, Aisha, who was riding her bike to school, encountered a similar situation, surrounded by seven or eight cars.
Unlike Has, Aisha immediately became excited.
She chose to ride her bike to school every day, hoping to encounter something interesting along the way to showcase her skills as a mahjong girl.
So, when she saw a group of menacing men with guns getting out of their cars, she immediately abandoned her bike and, to the puzzled looks of the Hydra agents, dashed into a nearby dead-end alley.
Dancing Green Dragon, mahjong tiles flew up, and within ten seconds, all the Hydra agents who had followed her into the alley were lying on the ground.
Back at the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, in the Security Director's office.
Everyone was stunned as they watched the two videos on the wall, showing the giant robots and the magic girl continuously throwing mahjong tiles and casting various spells.
They never expected that the Witch's family members would also be so formidable.
"Sorry, is it too late to apologize now?"
Pierce, looking at the two darkened videos, stiffly turned his head to look at the expressionless Jerry.
Jerry responded calmly:
"If apologies were useful, we wouldn't need the police!"
