Chapter 365: Project God-making? Hero's Trial, Test of the Illusion! Hammer King, is Born!
Chapter 365: Project God-making? Hero's Trial, Test of the Illusion! Hammer King, is Born!
As Re Crown's words fell, a substantial psychic power surged out from her body.
A dazzling light instantly engulfed the Budew standing on the grass.
The next second, a faint blue aura appeared around Budew, its eyes closed, and its body slowly floated up.
Quiet and peaceful, it seemed to have fallen asleep.
Watching this, Naoki knew that Re Crown's illusion trial had officially begun.
"I wonder what kind of experiences Budew will go through..." Naoki thought to himself.
But that was Budew's trial, something he couldn't see or participate in, so all he could do was wait silently outside.
Naoki didn't know what the King's Power was.
But he knew that this power allowed the Brave Warrior, Cang Xiang, and Zang Maran to transform into the invincible King of Sword and Shield.
And their base stats would increase from the original 670 to 720.
It's worth noting that the base stat of Arceus' avatar is also 720.
Obviously, this power is an incredible boost for a Pokemon.
The combination of the special Lightning Mantou's Thunder God effect and Re Crown's King's Power, how far can Budew be pushed...
Demi-god? Beast of fantasy? Or the realm of legendary Pokemon?
A spark of excitement flashed in Naoki's eyes. He and Re Crown were in the business of creating a god!
The trees were lush, the soil fertile, and the lush green canopy shaded the sky. Moss covered the deep trunks, and the deep grass growing on the ground formed a vibrant forest full of life.
The scent of fresh earth filled the air, and sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a clear beam onto a stone in the forest.
A small Budew, who had been sleeping on the stone, slowly opened its eyes.
As it took in its surroundings, a look of confusion spread across its face.
"Ba Mo?"
Wasn't this the place it used to live?
Hey, why talk about the past?
Its head was cloudy, and Budew looked up at the sky, feeling like it had just had a very long dream.
In the dream, it was taken on a long flight by a Pokemon with a big mouth, eventually landing at a human ranch, where it was taken in by a human.
The human trained it, taught it how to fly, and even made it a small hammer.
Thinking of this, Budew rubbed the electric sac on its claws with its paw pads, wanting to release a powerful electric current just like in its dream.
"Ba Mo—"
"Hiss—"
With its vigorous rubbing, a weak electric current emerged from its claws.
So weak...
It must be a dream, then?
For some reason, Budew felt a sense of loss.
"Ba Mo Ba Mo?"
At that moment, two calling voices came from the distant grass.
Soon after, two regular Budews emerged from the rustling tall grass and looked at their child.
"Ba Mo? Ba Mo!" (There you are! You scared us. It's time to come home for dinner!)
Budew hesitated, feeling a sudden urge to cry. It called out, "Ba Mo!" (Dad, Mom!)
The Budew's mother looked at her child with loving eyes. "Ba Mo~" (We're here. Let's go home together.~)
Budew nodded and jumped down from the stone, following its parents home.
Their home was under a withered tree.
The bottom of the tree trunk had been hollowed out into a warm and dry tree cave, and within the cave was a passage leading underground.
Budew remembered that his parents had worked hard to dig out this cave.
There were two passages inside the cave, one leading to the food storage room and the other to the bedroom.
The food storage room was where they kept their food. The Budew parents had stored a large amount of tree fruit and grain there to prepare for the coming winter.
The bedroom was a more spacious cave where the family of three would snuggle up together every night and fall asleep.
That night, Budew fell asleep peacefully in its parents' embrace.
The next morning, it bid farewell to its parents and went off to play in the forest.
In this forest stood a tall, ancient tree, and some of the older Pokemon in the forest said that this tree had been there for a very long time.
Budew liked to climb the tree and sit at the very top, gazing at the vast blue sky and the world beyond the forest.
Today, Budew had come to this spot once again. As it looked out at the world beyond the forest, it wondered what it would be like out there.
Suddenly, a Pokemon's startled cry came from below.
Accompanied by a piercing shout, Budew quickly looked down to see where the sound was coming from.
In the dense forest, a petite Karakara was running for its life, with a hideous and frightening Pokemon in hot pursuit.
Budew recognized that Pokemon. Its parents had warned it about this Pokemon countless times.
It was a Vultureena! A very nasty Pokemon!
It would fly in circles in the sky every day, observing the ground below. As soon as it spotted weak prey, it would launch an attack and carry the unfortunate Pokemon back to its bone nest with its clawed feet.
This Pokemon was extremely cruel. Not only did it like to eat other Pokemon, but it also used the bones of its prey to build its nest, decorating itself with them. It had a violent temperament and was a well-known bully in the forest!
Watching Vultureena excitedly chase after Karakara, Budew's heart was filled with fear.
And if that Vultureena noticed him, he wouldn't be able to escape. He would be caught along with Karakara and taken back to the nest, leaving only their bones behind.
At this thought, Budew's face involuntarily showed a look of fear.
Fear gripped its heart, and the intimidation of Vultureena froze it in place, unable to move.
As Budew stood there dazed, Vultureena had caught up to Karakara. With its powerful claws, it pinned Karakara to the ground and pecked at it with its sharp beak.
Karakara cried out in pain.
This sound snapped Budew out of its stupor.
Seeing that Karakara was about to be taken away, Budew took a deep breath, reached for a small stone beside it, and threw it at Vultureena with all its might.
"Ba Mo!"
Vultureena, provoked, immediately locked onto the minuscule Budew with its pitch-black pupils.
It angrily dropped Karakara and flapped its wings, flying straight towards Budew in the tree.
Filled with fear, Budew instinctively turned and began to dart through the forest as quickly as it could.
Vultureena pursued closely, relentless in its chase.
After what felt like an eternity, just as Budew's stamina was about to run out, a sheer cliff appeared before it.
A dead end!
Budew quickly braked and turned to see Vultureena approaching steadily.
Vultureena narrowed its eyes and let out a piercing shriek, seemingly mocking the little one's overestimation of its abilities.
Weaklings like this should be their prey!
Vultureena accelerated and dove towards Budew.
Budew's heart raced with anxiety, a thin layer of cold sweat forming on its forehead. Its claws desperately rubbed its electric sac, trying to generate electricity to protect itself.
But it was just too weak...
Vultureena was incredibly fast, and before Budew could produce any electricity, it was knocked away by Vultureena's attack.
In this moment, the fear in Budew's heart reached its peak, and the sense of weightlessness made it scream uncontrollably.
"Ba Mo—"
Severe pain spread throughout its body, and Budew felt like it had died.
But strangely, it could still think.
Suddenly, everything around it darkened, and time seemed to freeze.
An authoritative voice echoed from all directions.
"Are you not afraid?"
Hearing this voice, Budew looked around alertly but saw nothing.
It shouted to give itself courage: "Ba Mo!" (I'm scared!)
The voice continued, sounding a little puzzled: "If you're afraid, why did you try to attract that Pokemon's attention?"
Budew shook its head repeatedly, trying to clear its mind: "Ba Mo, Ba Mo Ba Mo!" (That Karakara will be eaten! I can't just watch it get eaten!)
"Even if it means sacrificing yourself?" the voice continued to inquire.
Budew was confused. It stretched out its claws and looked at its soft, pink paw pads, feeling like something was missing.
In its daze, Budew's mind flashed with fragments of memories.
Someone was handing it a hammer and saying, "From now on, you are a righteous superhero! Go forth and use this hammer to protect the weak Pokemon!"
At this recollection, courage surged within Budew, and it exclaimed, "Ba Mo!" (I am a righteous superhero!)
The voice fell silent for a moment, then continued, "But do you know that Vultureena hunts to feed her children? From her perspective, your actions are not righteous."
Upon hearing this, Budew was stunned.
"Ba Mo..."
Its mind was filled with uncertainty. Was it true that this troublesome Pokemon was hunting for her children, just like its parents had warned it about countless times? If it stopped Vultureena from hunting, would her chicks back in the nest starve while waiting for their mother to return?
Budew was at a complete loss for what to do.
"What will you do, then?" the voice asked, sounding curious.
Budew didn't know, and it fell into deep thought.
Pokemon needed food to grow healthy... but they didn't want to be eaten themselves.
The voice didn't rush it, patiently awaiting its answer.
Budew thought of itself, its parents, and the distant dream it had the day before.
After a long while, it found an answer that felt right.
Budew lifted its head, its small face serious: "Ba Mo!" (I will share my tree fruit with her! She can take it back to feed her children, so they won't go hungry!)
This answer seemed to surprise the voice.
"Is this your answer?"
Budew nodded firmly: "Ba Mo!" (Yes!)
"Then show me," the voice said.
As the words echoed, everything around Budew began to rewind.
When Budew opened its eyes, it found itself back to the moment when it had first noticed Vultureena chasing Karakara in the forest below.
Suddenly, a surge of powerful energy erupted from within its heart.
Budew was surprised by the electrifying feeling coursing through its body, but it quickly adapted to this newfound strength. It jumped down without hesitation, standing between Vultenna and Karakara, shielding the smaller Pokemon.
"Ba Mo!" (Don't hurt it!)
Budew cried out to the menacing Vultenna.
Vultenna, irritated by the tiny Pokemon's defiance, let out a sharp, shrill cry.
Budew stood its ground, refusing to back down.
Vultenna spread its wings wide and unleashed a Brave Bird attack on Budew.
Undeterred, Budew remained steadfast, embracing the answer it had found.
Its body erupted with a dazzling electric glow as it charged towards Vultenna.
The two Pokemon collided mid-air, resulting in a fierce exchange.
The aggressive Vultenna, despite its ferocity, was no match for Budew and was knocked to the ground.
It stared at the seemingly weak Pokemon with a mix of fear and astonishment.
Just as Vultenna thought it would be finished off, Budew took out a handful of berries, over a dozen of them, and placed them before the startled Vultenna.
"Ba Mo!" (Take these back to feed your children!)
Budew said.
Vultenna paused, its eyes widening in disbelief at the gesture.
After a moment of silence, it abandoned its pursuit of Karakara and, with a flap of its wings, took the berries and flew back to its nest.
Budew breathed a sigh of relief as it watched Vultenna's retreating figure.
Suddenly, the mysterious voice echoed once more, "It seems you have found your path."
"Ba Mo?!" Budew looked around, perplexed by the voice.
However, the surroundings began to slowly fade away.
The voice continued, "Even if you lose everything and revert to the weak Budew you once were, you still possess the courage to face powerful foes and the kindness to help those in need."
"I acknowledge the purity of your heart. By staying true to your path and finding your own answers, you have demonstrated your unwavering belief."
"You are a true hero, Babutwo. Embrace this King's Power and use it to aid those who need it from this day forward!"
As the voice faded, Babutwo snapped out of the illusion and regained consciousness, returning to reality.
It gazed around, taking in Naoki's smile, the majestic Re Crown, and the concerned faces of its companions.
"Looks like you passed the test," Naoki whispered.
"Ba Mo..." Babutwo murmured, burying its face in Naoki's embrace and sobbing.
Naoki was perplexed by the sudden display of emotion. "What's wrong?"
Babutwo wiped its tears and sniffled, "Ba Mo." It had thought that everything it experienced was just a dream...
Naoki smiled gently. "It's not a dream. How could it be?"
Babutwo's emotions steadied, and it sheepishly wiped away the remaining tears. "Ba Mo."
Naoki patted its head gently. "You did well. You passed Re Crown's test. As far as I know, only two Pokemon in this world have passed Re Crown's test, and they have become legendary kings in their regions."
Speaking of which, Cang Xiang and Zang Maran were like senior disciples to Babutwo!
Hearing this, Babutwo's eyes lit up, and it couldn't quite believe what it was hearing. Was it really that remarkable?
"Alright, off you go. It's time for the coronation ceremony," Naoki said with a smile.
Babutwo nodded, its small face serious and determined.
It hopped down to stand before Re Crown, looking up at the majestic Pokemon.
Re Crown lowered its head, meeting Babutwo's gaze.
"Raise your hammer."
Babutwo held the small silver hammer in its paws and presented it to Re Crown.
Re Crown's eyes fixed on the hammer, and it extended its right hand, placing it over the weapon.
Instantly, a golden light radiated from Re Crown's body, infusing the hammer with its divine energy.
The once silver hammer transformed before their eyes, its color shifting to a majestic gold with intricate royal engravings adorning its surface.
"Ba Mo!"
Babutwo exclaimed in awe as it witnessed the transformation.
The next second, the golden light enveloped its entire body.
Babutwo felt as though it were bathing in a scorching energy, and its body radiated a brilliant golden glow.
Within the light, Babutwo's form began to change rapidly.
The golden energy coalesced into a regal helmet atop its head, and metallic armor formed around its body.
The armor seamlessly connected to the red cape tied around Babutwo's neck, creating a unified ensemble.
The robust energy caused the cape to flutter, and Babutwo, adorned with its golden crown, exuded an aura of authority and valor.
It held the golden hammer tightly, and a majestic kingly aura emanated from Babutwo, spreading throughout the surrounding area.
Naoki and the other Pokemon looked on in awe at the spectacle.
The Hammer King, Babutwo, had been born!
