Chapter 365: Field Domain
Chapter 365: Field Domain
As soon as Chen Chuan approached, he noticed that Teacher Jiang didn't indulge in small talk and went straight to the point. Chen Chuan also focused his mind, naturally unleashing his mental focus, allowing his field domain to unfold effortlessly.
Teacher Jiang immediately sensed this and said, "Chen, when you took the assessment, I heard balance in your field. There were no fluctuations or ripples, like a smooth, round stone without edges, leaving no gaps. This foretold your well-rounded abilities, as well as your rationality and calmness in emotions."
His relaxed expression gradually turned serious, "But now, you're still as calm as ever, but like a deep, bottomless lake, ready to engulf and drown anyone within. Such a field domain can be quite..." He paused, looking at Chen Chuan, and sighed, "It's a bit terrifying."
As Teacher Jiang spoke, Chen Chuan also sensed something from him. This was probably a deliberate release of his field domain, and within it, Chen Chuan detected a vibrant and tense energy field.
If he had to describe it, it would be like a conductor standing on stage, ready to burst with passionate energy. But when it came to specifics, like the balance Teacher Jiang mentioned, Chen Chuan couldn't quite grasp it.
Teacher Jiang spread his arms towards the spacious training ground and smiled, "You should have felt it. When you sense others, they also sense you. Even if they discover your information, you also gain some knowledge about them. Regardless of how much you learn, your priority is to ensure you don't reveal too much of yourself. So, you must find ways to make limited changes."
"How to conceal yourself and mislead others is what you need to learn and master now," Teacher Jiang added.
Chen Chuan nodded, "Please guide me, Teacher."
Teacher Jiang took a couple of steps in place, "Chen, the primary aspect of a biofield domain is formed by the information emitted from altered organs. You should be able to sense this, but if you let them act freely, they'll reveal the most genuine and pure information, which is the truth."
"However, if you can utilize and guide them, making them emit the desired sounds and field domains, you can achieve your goals. For instance, you can have some altered organs suppress information while others maintain their information release. This way, you reveal partial information, and if managed well, it can mislead opponents into thinking they've accessed everything."
"Through long-term accumulation and evolution, fighters have discovered many fixed templates and routines for when to suppress and when to remain active. These are the most fundamental templates you need to master before considering more complex variations."
Teacher Jiang tapped his boundary token, and a set of templates appeared on the light screen. "These are the most basic ones. You must grasp these first to consider more intricate changes."
Chen Chuan examined the information on the light screen, which showed three methods to alter one's field domain by controlling altered organs. All other template variations were derived from these three basic templates.
After reviewing them, Chen Chuan found them straightforward. These templates were useful for most fighters, indicating that they didn't require the activation of many altered organs.
Chen Chuan's altered organs had an extensive coverage, and he engaged numerous altered organs during every fight. Recently, he had been practicing the Furnace Breathing Technique, which involved a far more extensive and complex range of altered organs than what these templates required. Therefore, he found these methods relatively easy.
After a quick glance and a brief attempt, Chen Chuan had mastered them. All that remained was to familiarize himself and deepen his memory of these techniques.
Teacher Jiang had been sensing Chen Chuan's biofield domain and noticed the regular changes occurring in it. "Hmm, you've grasped it so quickly. With your talent, it's expected. Let's move on to the next part."
"Once you understand the basics, you'll know what others are doing, at least you won't be clueless. But to quickly analyze and understand their field domain information, you'll need some techniques and experience."
Teacher Jiang slowly spread his arms and said, "First, try to sense it carefully."
Chen Chuan attempted to perceive his field domain and noticed significant changes compared to what he had felt earlier. It was entirely different from what Teacher Jiang had initially demonstrated.
If before, Chen Chuan felt like he was facing a passionate conductor, now it was like a low-key performer in the background, unremarkable but keeping the rhythm, fulfilling their role with a near-robotic, monotonous precision.
"Which do you think is my true field domain?" Teacher Jiang asked with a smile.
Chen Chuan carefully discerned the differences, feeling that it was related to what Teacher Jiang had just taught him. He couldn't delve deeper, so he compared and observed the overall, of her body.
After a while, Chen Chuan said, "It seems neither is entirely true, but both are in a way."
Teacher Jiang snapped his fingers in approval, "You're close. You're perceptive, noticing the crucial aspect. Both these field domains are partially real, with the other part intentionally altered. The difference is that the first one is altered less, while the second one is altered more."
"In my opinion, a field domain is like a melody. You can hear various beautiful tunes within it, and these tunes reveal a lot. Only a naturally flowing melody is truly pleasant and wonderful."
However, man-made creations are often stiff and awkward, and it's difficult for ordinary people to overcome this shortcoming unless they have reached an extremely high level of mastery in shaping their own field domains.
So, your task is simple: pay attention to those naturally flowing parts, discard the rigid and inflexible, and use your understanding to determine what type of enemy you're facing."
As he spoke, he reminded Chen Chuan, "Your judgment needs to be swift and decisive, and this requires constant practice. There's no shortcut other than finding someone willing to cooperate with you, a good sparring partner. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that. If you have the necessary resources, I suggest you look for Hong Fu directly."
Chen Chuan nodded. Although Teacher Jiang wasn't responsible for this aspect, his guidance was already invaluable. It would have taken him who knows how long to figure out the intricacies on his own.
"Regarding field domain techniques," Teacher Jiang continued, "unless they're from the national system, most fighters don't pay much attention to it. Those who recognize the importance of learning these skills are already in the minority.
So, if you don't want to invest too much energy in this area, what I've already told you is sufficient. But if you want to delve deeper, I do have some experience to share. I can spare ten to twenty minutes a day. If you have any questions, feel free to come and ask me."
"Thank you, Teacher Jiang," Chen Chuan said. "This will be very useful for students."
Teacher Jiang, with his hands in his pockets, smiled and said, "Don't mention it. It's just a fair exchange of knowledge. You're now a Third Limit Fighter, and who knows when I might need your help."
Chen Chuan replied seriously, "If there's anything I can help with, Teacher, please don't hesitate to ask."
Teacher Jiang laughed and said, "In that case, I won't be shy. Well, that's all for today." He tapped his Boundary Token, turned, and headed out. "I have some students who have already signed up for my classes before the start of the semester, so I should be off to teach now."
As Teacher Jiang left, Chen Chuan didn't linger. He took the elevator back to his dormitory. Instead of immediately seeking out Hong Fu, he practiced repeatedly using the three templates.
His goal was to be able to execute the transformations at any moment, and he estimated it would take him three to five days to become proficient. Only then would seeking out Hong Fu be twice as effective.
The day was spent honing his time refining his Furnace Breathing Technique and its application.
The next day, September 2nd, Chen Chuan contacted Ni Qianqian using his Boundary Token and left the Mystic Palace Tower. He drove to the Handling Bureau.
As he entered the Handling Bureau, an employee escorted him to a lounge and offered him tea.
Soon, the sound of high heels echoed in the corridor, and a woman in a uniform approached. She was around thirty years old, with her hair neatly pinned up, and a polite smile on her face. She bowed slightly and said, "Executive Chen, thank you for waiting. Please follow me."
Chen Chuan stood up and nodded, "Thank you."
The woman smiled at him again and led the way.
Chen Chuan followed her down the corridor to an elevator. She extended her slender finger and pressed the button. The elevator descended, stopping at Level Negative Seven.
The elevator doors opened, and the woman stepped out, gesturing for Chen Chuan to follow. "Executive Chen, this way, please."
Chen Chuan glanced forward and noticed a long corridor beyond the elevator. The walls were illuminated by a cold blue light strip that extended into the distance. Chen Chuan thought to himself that the Handling Bureau must have something important to discuss if they were meeting in an underground facility.
After a two-minute walk, the woman pushed open a set of double doors, leading Chen Chuan into a conference room with curved edges.
The room was spacious, with dim lighting around the edges and a brighter central area. A fixed metal table lay horizontally in the center, bathed in cold-toned light. The space was almost silent, making their footsteps sound crisp and clear.
Chen Chuan noticed a man standing behind the metal table, wearing sunglasses and a crisp uniform. He seemed to be waiting for them.
The woman approached the man and introduced Chen Chuan, "Executive Chen, this is Special Commissioner Liang." She kept the introduction brief, not mentioning his position, name, or department.
Chen Chuan stepped forward and nodded, "Special Commissioner Liang."
Special Commissioner Liang spoke in a neutral tone, "Executive Chen, I've invited you here to explain some matters.
"All fighters who reach the Third Limit through the national system are approached by us. We reveal certain things to them, but these are state secrets, so before we proceed, we need you to sign a confidentiality agreement."
The woman produced a paper document and placed it on the metal table in front of Chen Chuan.
Special Commissioner Liang's expression remained unchanged as he said, "You have the right to refuse this knowledge. If you choose not to accept, you can leave now, and no one will bother you about this again. If you choose to accept, please sign here."
