Chapter 364: A New Legendary Event
Chapter 364: A New Legendary Event
"Of course!" Hermione nodded without hesitation. She hadn't forgotten that Ivan had promised her that every time he used the Time Turner, he would take her with him.
And when Professor Dumbledore gave them the Time Turner, he also told them to supervise each other!
Thinking of this, Hermione's cheeks turned slightly red, as she realized she hadn't really fulfilled her role as a supervisor.
After Hermione agreed, Ivan began to think about how to get her back to Knockturn Alley three months ago.
He couldn't just ride a Thestral like he did before; that would be too much of a hardship!
Ivan thought for a moment and then had an idea. He snapped his fingers and called out.
"Dobby!"
In the next moment, a small, ugly House-Elf with large, blinking eyes appeared before them.
"Is there anything you need, sir?" Dobby asked in a high-pitched voice.
"Take us to Knockturn Alley!" Ivan said, taking Hermione's hand and addressing Dobby.
While Hogwarts had anti-Apparition wards, these did not apply to house-elves.
Dobby's magic was strong enough to transport them both to Knockturn Alley!
"Yes, sir!" Dobby immediately complied, extending his left hand to grasp Ivan's wrist and snapping his right hand.
A spatial shift occurred, and when Ivan came to his senses, he found himself in a familiar yet unfamiliar alley.
If he remembered correctly, this was the place where he had intercepted two Death Eaters and was ultimately stopped by Hermione.
What a coincidence! Ivan was a bit surprised but didn't dwell on it. This would save him some walking.
Ivan took out the Invisibility Cloak and handed it to Hermione while explaining.
"If you want to help me, you need to go back three months, which means turning the Time Turner two thousand four hundred times. Of course, it took me quite a while to ride the Thestral from Hogwarts to London, so you can skip about five turns."
Hermione was taken aback by the sheer number. Two thousand plus turns? She was a bit worried about making a mistake.
"If everything goes as planned, you will see two Death Eaters in black robes passing by after you wait a bit. At that moment, I will want to kill them. All you need to do is stop me. Remember to wear the Invisibility Cloak during the process!" Ivan added.
Hermione tried to memorize everything Ivan said, then asked hesitantly, "Were you wearing the Invisibility Cloak at that time? How will I find you?"
"Just keep an eye out for a suddenly appearing Wand. I don't think that will be too difficult for you, right?" Ivan smiled.
Hermione nodded, then continued her barrage of questions. "What else? What should I do after that? Is there anything I need to pay special attention to?"
As she spoke, the young witch took out a magic quill from her robes and unfolded a crumpled piece of paper, looking at Ivan intently, as if determined to remember every word he said next.
"No, Hermione, I don't have any specific tips or things you need to pay special attention to", Ivan said, finding the situation both amusing and exasperating. He shook his head.
He remembered how he had once fantasized about having a guide to follow, and now Hermione was thinking the same thing.
"But I don't know what you want me to do?" Hermione said, a bit flustered.
Ivan had been researching Potions day and night recently, and she had seen it with her own eyes. There must have been something very important he needed to accomplish, so she didn't want to cause any trouble due to her negligence.
"You need to find out for yourself!" Ivan said casually, then reassured her not to worry. He handed Hermione the Polyjuice Potion he had prepared earlier, asking her to pass it on to him when the time came.
Since Ivan said so, it meant that the journey should go smoothly. Understanding this, Hermione relaxed a bit.
Then, Hermione took the vial containing the Polyjuice Potion, put it away safely, and put on the Invisibility Cloak, preparing to use the Time Turner.
At this moment, Ivan suddenly remembered something and spoke up.
"By the way, when you go back, the me from that time will probably ask you some questions. You just need to tell him not to try to change the past, but to learn to follow the course of history, like thinking about what he has seen."
"Is that enough?" Hermione was bewildered, not quite understanding what Ivan meant. It seemed too vague.
"Yes, that's enough! But he probably won't understand it right away, so it's fine if he doesn't think about it", Ivan said, feeling a bit nostalgic.
He finally understood why his younger self couldn't get the so-called walkthrough. It was because there was no need to interfere; fate would guide everything to its proper conclusion.
Let everything take its natural course!
Hermione looked at Ivan with a puzzled expression, silently memorizing his words. She then calmed her mind and began to turn the Time Turner.
Ivan couldn't see Hermione, who was wearing the Invisibility Cloak, but when she didn't respond for a long time, he knew the young witch must have left.
"Come on, Dobby, let's go back!" Ivan said, turning to the house-elf beside him.
"Yes, sir!" Dobby replied and then transported Ivan back to Hogwarts with him.
After two consecutive long-distance Apparitions, Dobby was quite exhausted. His pointed ears drooped, and his wrinkled face was full of fatigue.
Ivan noticed this and couldn't help but say, "You've worked hard these past few days, Dobby! I don't have any important matters for the next two days, so you can take a good rest. Consider it your holiday!"
"Holiday?!" Dobby's fatigue vanished instantly. He looked up in surprise, his large, lamp-like eyes blinking, and after a moment of hesitation, he let out a high-pitched scream.
"Good heavens! Dobby has a holiday!"
The shrill sound nearly burst Ivan's eardrums.
Ivan rubbed his ears. He hadn't expected that just a holiday would elicit such a strong reaction from Dobby. Before he could say anything, Dobby started sobbing.
"Sir, you are so kind, not only willing to pay Dobby a salary, but also giving Dobby a holiday! You are the greatest person in the Wizarding World, even greater than Harry Potter!"
Tears welled up in Dobby's eyes, and he looked like he wanted to hug Ivan's leg and cry.
Ivan was speechless. It seemed that Harry, the Savior, was only worth a weekly Sickle salary and a two-day holiday.
*Ding, a new Legendary Event has been generated!*
Just as Ivan was about to comfort Dobby, the System's notification rang in his mind.
